  • When semi-famous camgirl "Two Thorned Rose" Melissa Turner was taken into custody shortly after the death of her boyfriend Matthew Trussler, the internet couldn't fathom her guilt. As time passed, the evidence available would suggest a cold-hearted murderer - far from the warm personality those knew Melissa for.

Best to stay single and eat popcorn as you watch true crime videos of other peoples shitty relationships. It's always the same story, it actually gets boring. Stay single and happy, these days as soon as you enter a relationship it's like women assume complete ownership of you, as their property, I've had friends who i no longer spend time with who literally give their freedom up to their woman, it's wrong and I want no part in modern relationships unless it's level playing field. Women have way too much power in relationships, more than most people care to even talk about, but men are to blame for letting this happen. In a partnership you are supposed to be partners, not one have power over the other. I'm actually getting tired of hearing these stories and feeling sorry for whoever got killed, they put themselves in that position, i've lost all empathy for the victims, they have plenty of chance to get away. Stupid is as stupid does, there's usually a mutual benefit in toxic relationships, that's why they stay together, until it turns brutal or ends badly.

As someone who was an abusive relationship with my spouse, I found it hard to get by. Other people didn't believe me, others said I need to man up, some said I need to abuse back because that is what she deserved, then a few said I need to divorce her. I ended up divorcing her though it wasn't an easy process as she kept dodging the divorce papers in nearly every way. Even in court she tried to convince the judge that the papers are not bond due to one part of her name being misspelled slightly even though she signed every page and agreed to the terms. All the things she had done to me was taxing and nearly ruined who I could have been right now. She even had friends over telling them how horrible I was, then walks to the room I was in to attack me and yell at me about a blanket. Even after she stopped and I asked her why she is doing this to me her friends still supported her actions.
As a man, trying to get support of an abusive relationship is tricky. Matthew should have received the proper care from her and the legal system should have given her the proper punishment anyone else (or any man in her position) should have received.

Yet when men really need help there aren’t any systems for us to go to. Compared to women. And society and most don’t believe men or double standards of “tough up” or “let it go”. I’m 5’10” 185 pounds and was physically abused by a crazy ex that was half my size for two years. It got to a point where I was afraid to go to sleep thinking she would cut my throat in the middle of the night. The last straw was when she slapped me ( as she often did just because ) and I told her that I’m going to call the police. To which she responded “go ahead, who do you think they’ll believe? A big man like you or the scared little woman I’ll make sure they see”. I left that night and never looked back. But it occurred to me that men suffer at the hands of abusive woman just as much as women through men, but the stigma of being a “pussy” as well as the abuser knowing every angle to make them look like the victim, is what keeps men from ever reporting it.

Big facts my man. There really should be more awareness about these situations. It’s a legal nightmare trying to fight these sort of allegations. The more “manly” your past and present are the more ammo women like that have. I got medically retired from the army for PTSD had an ex call the cops saying she was scared of me because I was being wild and violent towards her she was banging on things screaming and crying for me to “stop” when I was literally on the other side of the house… LOCKED inside a room…on the phone with my brother. I’ve struggled with my past and a decade of therapy with those struggles at the time. I had been violent in self defense and also in a blackout state which was ONLY achieved when severely pressed into flashing back because of triggers. I was intentionally put in these positions by several women. The same ex later called me abusive, irresponsible, an addict, all kinds of things to CPS I did the classes complied showed my truth and they still wouldn’t believe I didn’t attack my ex in front of “her child” the newborn I was taking care of by myself while she partied and did coke with her side pieces… in all fairness I was barely 100lbs literally skin and bone, sleep deprived, depressed, struggling to fix my marriage but entirely focus on full time newborn care, couldn’t keep food down, no car, paying all the bills, and my coked up wife walks in demanding to take the newborn to who knows where with pupils the size of goofballs in her eyes and I refused. The baby was present but asleep. I called my dad to ask for advice as to how to handle this and she just starts up her bullying, which was fine. But then she started the triggers. Harder to resist. How the army didn’t want me and nobody wants me and she doesn’t want me cuz I’m all kinds of pieces of shit. Things I’ve felt about myself and trusted her with. Right in the feels. My dad is saying something I can’t hear because blood is swirling so loudly in my head she starts moving towards the baby I step between them and say you’re not taking her like this. Im standing my grown at this point. My ex is a former boxer and much larger and heavier and healthier than I was physically at that point. I used to LET her hit me because I knew where it was coming from and I thought if I just took it and got her help she’d “go back” to “who” she was when we got together. I never fought back cuz “I can take it.” I’ve got a lot of fighting experience plus my time in the army. So I can handle myself even for a little guy I am freakishly able for my size (5’ 2). I mustered every bit of strength I had to keep her from taking that baby. A baby a i thought was OUR daughter at the time. I’ve come to learn the truth since. Anyway I pulled a straight up mama bear and threw the phone as hard as I could when she made up her mind she was going for it. I kinda of popped out of my body and I couldn’t do anything but watch as all took place. I didn’t encourage her not to press charges, I volunteered to take her to the hospital and explain to the doctors myself what had happened. She refused and drove herself. Lied to the doctors told me she was ready to work things out and then moved her ex into our home that I paid for. I left the next night. Her friends and family begged me to call cps for the kids sake and then everyone threw me under the bus and basically just acted like I was a monster and no one ever felt safe around me the person the called for everything. I cut ties with everyone kids included which hurt the most. Divorced her and moved on with my life. But i don’t feel like I’m okay with being stepdad material. She had a son I’d raised with her for 4 years. Only missing out on the first few months of his life because we hadn’t met yet. I was the only “daddy” he knew for the longest time. We had a great bond. He loved my family as well. She lost the house and everything we’d built together… but I lost value in having values, I turned my back on certain morals. Just because it can be used against me to ruin my life. I can do everything right and some people will still cut me down for it. And if I tell anyone about it…. Or complain… I run the risk of being a lil “bitch” about it. I used to be quite comfortable crying and feeling. Now I feel but it never shows. I smile when I must but even at a comedy show I’m really enjoying I sit stoned face laughing on the inside. I try to make myself look as unapproachable as ever. I look like the uni bomber when I go out. Hoodie hat jeans boots in the summer. In the winter… coat over a hoodie with a hat and jeans and boots. At functions I dress appropriately which is usually when people realize I am approachable but you only see that if I actually know and trust the person or organization to go. And of course there’s work me. Work me just works. I’m not there to make friends. I’m there to earn my pay and work. I’m really a gentle and understanding person. But my past with mental health and the military makes me such a target for this kind of stuff. This is the first time I’ve shared this with anyone ever but it is a real phenomenon that happens and people are so closed off to it as if it really just can’t happen because of the differences between a man a woman. Even when the odds are in your favor… when you’ve got the truth…. It means nothing against a web of lies and misconceptions. Thank you for sharing and I hope you found a better life. I’m sorry you had to experience that. And I hope you never have to again.

Mr personally I believe plea bargain violate the constitution in such a fundamental way that plea deals should be banned. You should not be able to forfeit your right to a trial by a jury of your peers. Too many people take the plea out of poverty. You can't hit me back even if you wanted because I'll just claim a bunch of things and you'd be in jail in a heart beat". So I just pretty much take it.
As I type this, I hear her on the other side of the door right now verbally insulting me into oblivion. Believe it or not, this is one of the better days. Right now she's calling me "loser, I'll never be anything in life, wimp" and she's telling me that I should just slam my head on my desk until I pass out.
I never even raise my voice at her and I randomly give her hugs and try to hold her hand and she just flings my hand away and says she should've found a real man.
Whenever I try to leave, she calls and texts every 2 minutes wondering where I am. Going to work is a god send because it's my time away from her. I have no idea how to leave this woman.

Being mistreated and raised with malevolence is more than enough to turn someone who
would've otherwise been a normal person into, for example, a sociopath.
Someone whose main concern is not being bored or not being successful.
They lack a, concerning emotional/affective capacity, fully structured brain, and most of their capacity for empathy,
in general as well. Instead they have an easy time analyzing individuals, are cold, calculating
and selfish. Similar to a psychopath, but "made" instead of "born".
If the structural predisposition does not exist, or empathy was still a constant

They offered her 25 years _for murder_ and she was only sentenced to 20 years _after conviction._ I also found the way this murderer was covered to be unusually compassionate and deferential. Just more proof that institutional sexism remains deeply ingrained in the American legal system and in true crime media.

And there was a clear cut line between the people you knew which were those 3 categories and the rest of the world which were strangers. The internet has totally blurred that line and now not only is it not strange for them to have the eyes of strangers but that's what they want more than anything. Your family. Your friends or your girlfriend ( or boyfriend) becomes more and more taken for granted because it's the usual. They are here and in your mind they will always be here. The outside world is new and it's thousands / Millions of people that can make you popular in one video or one post . That will push people to the most awful directions

Social media basically tapped into that basic human need for attention. And turned it into a new addiction that mental health professionals are still trying to figure out how to help. I think we can date this shift all the way back to when they started monetizing online content creators.
Somehow these content creators made a lot of money. A LOT. Add that with the lavish following, and to many it seems like the perfect career. You get to “do what you like” and be “loved” and rich.
Yearning to become an “Online content creator” basically replaced the “becoming a celebrity in California” trend. The latter was really common in the 20th century, apparently (basing this on all the stories I hear about women running to California to become actors.)
It is indeed really sad. The Internet has changed the modern environment so quickly that a lot of younger generations grew up only really knowing how to get their dopamine kick from it.
I’m not going to go all “big bad tech” cause technology and the Internet has done a lot of good. I’ve definitely benefited from the Internet. But this is one of the bad things about it. And sadly I don’t think this will change anytime soon ☹️

You always manage to find and report on crimes I haven't heard before! I find it strangely comforting that out of these horrible cases, we're learning more and more about how technology is not only catching criminals, but also solving decades old cold cases as well.

I've noticed on alot of true crime shows they always seem to blurt out their rehersed story before they ever say why they were calling.
They get the crying on and breath heavy and just start into some rushed story. And the operator has to be like "What do you need?!?! FIRETRUCK?? AMBULENCE??
The story comes first because they're desperate to 'save themselves' first. So to speak.

All love brother, the English accent for me has grown really long in the tooth in every show or documentary? I question myself? Am I in North America? Great accent! Everybody loves! This has me questioning whether this is real or not before this incredible atrocity? No prejudice! There is just so many overused actions that makes you question yourself?
