- These were popular beauty trends you might want to avoid. A 2020 social media craze of filing teeth down with standard nail files had dentists cringing. In 2016, people used homemade charcoal beauty treatments, and the results weren’t so great. In 2020, a spa in Jordan offered an unusual beauty treatment, but it may make your skin crawl. I experienced the same thing, I used a charcoal mask I got as a gift and it hurt like hell. It took like 30 or so minutes to try and peel it off.
My gf did the charcoal mask on me ages ago just for fun and to see my reaction. It was uncomfortable but wasn’t that bad…. But I was also a little liquored up so that probably helped a lot!

I think the ones that were bad in the video were likely the homemade ones made with glue...normal charcoal masks from the store shouldn't stick that hard to the point it hurts to take off.

The metal nail file on the teeth makes me cringe so bad.
There was this one time when my mom tried this beauty mask at home. It wasn't a charcoal mask, but it was one of those masks to make your skin feel softer (or something like that). While she was doing that, I was sitting at my laptop in my room... and then I hear from the other end of the hall, "Phoenix! Honey, please get in here!" With the way she sounded, I thought something really bad had happened - but then I walked in and saw that she was, in fact, trying to peel this damn mask off of her face. It was practically GLUED to her skin, and I had to help her peel off this thing piece by piece. We looked back on it later and laughed, but in that moment, it was NOT fun! So, needless to say, she never used that kind of mask again!

When it comes to some of those face masks, it says on the box itself to not use it all over your face just certain sections.
I remembered that filter and it actually effected my self esteem when I didn’t think it would I felt like my skin and some my features looks horrible compared to that filter.

I just stick to charcoal nose strips. I have also tried a charcoal face mask, and I’ve had no issue. Most likely everyone has different reactions based on to what skin type someone has

TIP: IF you ever can’t get the peel off mask off your face, just wet it. It will come right off. :)

Oh goodness. When I was maybe 13, I took a regular nail file to my front teeth because part of one was sharp and sticking out a little. It worked, was very subtle, and thankfully did no damage but that was so stupid of my preteen/teen self back then. Thank God I didn't use a metal one 😂 Please nobody try this and use the dentist or orthodontist for teeth-related matters

Try spritzing water on the charcoal mask, they soften up and easy to remove. Or just ditch it and use the korean masks instead. They work much better.

I've had giant African snails and they're very slimy and it's almost impossible to get off, they also poop a lot and would probably do it in your face, and they can also have parasites. Not something you want in your face. There is face cream with snail if you want to try instead.

I don’t wear make up. I only wear it when I need to which is for special occasions and cosplay and performances. My boyfriend tells me I look beautiful with and/or without make up and I look beautiful with and/or without (I have contacts in) my glasses.
Plus I only wash my face when I ABSOLUTELY have to or need to.
I don’t wear makeup and watch my sugars and I still get hella breakouts lol

I have a miracle cure, it makes the skin beautiful, 😍 I'm not joking, buy tangerine, after you eat it, save the peels, put the peels in a jar of water and wait 24-72 hours when the water turns orange rinse your face with it
#2 kiwi 🥝 after you peel and eat the kiwi save the peels and with the green side go all around your face with the juice from the peels then leave it on overnight your skin will tighten and rinse it off in the morning you will look 10 years younger, do it at least once a week, ps. You can store the kiwi peels in the freezer and use it for the next time, the cold is an added benefit and gets rid of deep wrinkles

You can infact use charcoal face masks. HOWEVER, you MUST take it off 1-3 minutes after applying or else it may stick too much. Helps with getting rid of bulging/aggresive pimples. (THIS IS NOT 100% WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE THIS IS JUST MY EXPERIENCE)

The issue with the masks isn't charcoal but polyvinyl chloride is added in packaged peel offs in small percentages. It is used as an adhesive for linoleum floors. Left too long it hurts. Wet it if it happens and it weakens the bond a little but still hurts.
I think it's important everybody know the charcoal in the mask isn't the problem, it's the glue. The manufacturers combine the charcoal with the glue-like ingredients to get the "peel" effect

i have used charcoal face mask and it worked wonders for me and didn't hurt at all maybe because i have a high pain tolerance and i ordered online and that was back in 2016
