Prince was put on restriction as a child. So, while confined in his room, he taught himself to play piano. In Junior high, he'd go to the music room after school and practice jazz with the teacher. "Starfish and Coffee" is a true story of an autistic classmate of Susannah Melvoin named Cynthia Rose. Susannah told Prince the story of Cynthia and Prince wrote the song in 10 hours. RIP 💜🤙🏻

I saw that “It’s Gonna Be a Beautiful Night” was recommended. It’s funny because I thought of that song and the live performance of “America” because he plays drums on both of those. They are both great. I also thought of a couple other piano moments for you to check out. The first is “The Beautiful Ones.” It’s from the Purple Rain album and is one of my favorites. He fought for his Masters. When he did he wld wear Slave, written on his face. If you listen to some of his interviews, he was a visionary and he was very spiritual. His catalog is massive. I think he would tell you, just be you, be no one else, be you. He also would tell you to learn to play an instrument or instruments. His vocal range is otherworldly. Musical genius. The best to you in your musical endeavors. Oh yes his catalog is extensive. When he passed he had a bank sized vault with nothing but his music.
