When I first discovered that piano medley, I couldn't stop smiling. I just rewatched it a few days ago. Like you, I return to it often. Don't give up on learning to play piano. I'll soon be 56 and it's still on my To Do list even if I never become 1/10000th as good as Prince.

I call him " BY ALL OBJECTIVE STANDARDS " because people love to get in their feelings, sales and popularity. There are levels and music can (like it or not) can be broken down into categories of musicality. I tell MJ folks this ain't a bank audit nor synchronized dancing, this is the creative process of making music and you wouldn't believe how many people are willing to discount playing 27 different instruments. People that can play are a small minority and people who can't always have the most to say.

Playing “ONE” instrument at a high level is a challenge. Being able to play pretty much any instrument other than horns…incredibly difficult. And play to where you belong in any circle of musicians. His vocals…crazy!! Songwriting…smh. Arrangements…yup, got that too. Dancing…unmatched physicality. Stage presence…through the roof. He had it all in spades. Sure, he was blessed. But no one can dismiss his work ethic. Miss this guy 💜🤘🏿🕊️

@@gfanarakos It's true. Engineers and Studio Musicians don't sit around talking about Usher or Justin Timberlake, this is not a slur against Michael. Musicology Proffesors Teach classes on Prince not Michael. Michael is the flashy biopic and Prince is the Documentary.

Prince shook up the game and Q definitely was not feeling him. He had so much autonomy it threatened guys like Quincy. Him and Michael were always reaching out to do something because they were trying to peep his process. We are the World and every other reach out were attempts to "son" him and Prince wasn't having it.

Thank u, Especially Bad they was really trying 2 play him. Making him the Wesley Snipes character super corny. MJ could do what P could do because he simply wasn't talented enough.

I love this medley so much and often watch it, too. It was great to hear your perspective on it. I JUST saw that Quincy clip for the first time today and was baffled. What on earth is he hearing??? I’m sure you’ve seen the soundcheck where he’s playing Summertime. I love watching that one as well. It’s so amazing and it’s SOUNDCHECK!!! He’s calling out notes and talking to people and still playing that beautiful song. Simply the best to ever do it!!! Thank you!! 💜💜💜

And this is the reason why Prince is called the Mozart of music. I agree with the comment people are more impressed with high selling records impresses them more than a multi talent real true artist.

This is absolutely breathtaking in how he literally becomes one w/the instrument and his confidence in playing. It’s soooo funny how you posted this content today because I thought of you yesterday when I came across a video titled : “The Little Prince : Footage Unearthed Of Superstar At Age 11”. I was shocked to see that was indeed Prince. If you haven’t seen it , you might wanna check it out 😊. Great content as usual 😃👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
