Excellent video for a beginner like myself :D. I just wished that they explain the order types and how to use heal triggers. What does that golden border around the shield value for lifesaving angel kurabiel seen in the intro indicate?
The golden border around the shield indicates that it's a Sentinel card. Like Heal Triggers, you can run up to four of them. If a card is a sentinel, that usually means that it has really good defensive abilities. Some sentinels have really high shield values, and others can just stop the attack entirely. The unique effect of heal triggers is to move cards from your damage zone to the drop zone. However, you can only do this if you have an amount of damage greater than or equal to your opponents. Usually, you'd remove a card that's been used to pay for a Counter-Blast as that means you have some breathing room and an extra point of damage to use.

So um, whats new with this Vanguard Overdress? I only see one different thing, the overtrigger, that can easily block by a perfect guard. Is that the Overdress?
It's both the name of the series and the name of the mechanic unique to Dragon Empire that basically involves a unit evolving into a more powerful version of itself. It's called overDress because you play the evolved version on top of the original unit. Check out Trickstar and Vairina for more info.

Wait the ride deck, when there is grade 1,2,3 from your ride deck and you are already at grade 3 vanguard, can I still get the grade 3 from ride deck or not?
If you rode to grade 3 from your hand instead of the ride deck and still have your grade 3 in the ride deck I'm fairly positive you could still discard a card from your hand to ride from the ride deck as normal during that phase of your turn.
@@crosszdrake7435 it's definitely better to do it that way, but it doesn't mean you can't ride the grade 3 from the ride deck on top of an already grade 3 vanguard surely?
@@raymondchung3815 still pretty sure you can, the ride deck isn't cards you have to ride for definite. I’ve been hooked to this game since 2021 I may be new to the game but I do know the rules especially my experience in vanguard zero I still have a lot to learn including the stride in the g series
Ok I’m planning on coming back into Vanguard and have already preordered a new deck (Keter Sanctuary is what I chose because in old Vanguard I was a Gold Paladin stand so obviously I was going too choose the nation that the Golds end up becoming in 3000 years). I stopped playing during the break ride era though I kept up to date during G series rules and roughly the reboot series with imaginary gift but since then haven’t really kept up with the current rules of the physical game. The things I noticed that are different to me was first the Ride Deck (I knew about it during their announcement video of OverDress so already understand how to use that, pretty much as long you discard a card from your hand you can ride the next unit higher or the same grade as your Vanguard but one major rule if you do go above a certain unite grade in your Ride Deck you can no longer use that card anymore unless somehow you are able too get it out of your Ride Deck with a skill of some kind, well I’m guessing there’s going to be skills that will make you able too use cards in your Ride Deck as if they don’t then your pretty much have too ride a unite from your Ride Deck if you don’t want to loose that card in the game) Another one is persona ride, never actually seen persona ride before and I don’t fully get how it fully works and the video didn’t clearly for my understanding tell us how it works other it triggers after you ride a the same unit as your current Vanguard which has the persona ride symbol and you get some Atk power and extra skill from doing so but not the specifics so I will be doing more research onto that. Third thing which like with Ride Deck which was announced during the reveal its a trigger that you can only have one in your deck and it has plus 1 million Atk power and depending on the card it has a powerful affect that could easily decide the outcome of the game as it’s that powerful called Over Trigger (just a really op trigger in your deck) Now that’s what I got from the video but I have read the comments that the name sake for this current version of Vanguard is that there’s a skill called OverDress so that’s something I’ll be researching into Overall still roughly the same game and has gone back too it’s more simple beginnings with some slight difference

Wow, okay. Any reason for the crazy over the top high attack values?
they needed a way to progress the game and ig this is their way of doing it
My only question is is there a hand size limit
Nope
Nah
i stopped playing since lock system was introduced
now im confused lmfao
Can you also show us how to do the thing they call an "OTK loop"?
Just use Mystery Flare Dragon and win
What effect should I look at when I persona ride? Or is it just drawing a card?
Overtime this game has changed a lot.
I stopped playing in 2017. I wanna start again but idk if bushiroad is gonna reset the whole system every few years with entirely different cards...
They said they will "tried" to make d-era the last reboot
So um, whats new with this Vanguard Overdress? I only see one different thing, the overtrigger, that can easily block by a perfect guard. Is that the Overdress?
It's both the name of the series and the name of the mechanic unique to Dragon Empire that basically involves a unit evolving into a more powerful version of itself. It's called overDress because you play the evolved version on top of the original unit. Check out Trickstar and Vairina for more info.
@@airos7584 i guess we havent see it in the anime right? I am trying to go back into vanguard after all that standart premium thingy. Dont even mention the mobile gacha game
@@andreegeraldi1597 Yeah, we haven't seen it yet. Maybe next episode, though.
@@airos7584 this Trickstar and Vairina you mentioned before, they are youtubers? I will check on them later. Thanks a lot
@@andreegeraldi1597 those are the unit with overdress skill
Everyone be quiet shins teaching us how to play
after taking a look at both vanguard AND weiss schwartz, why are the number values so unnecessarily large? why so many needless zeros when a double or triple digit number would suffice?
Well I assume you mean all around the board yeah they could easily make the numbers smaller but I think big numbers are just more exciting I guess but if you mean for the triggers that because your opponent can easily guard with just one card if that was the case
Its really clear that is really useful and helpful thanks!👍👍
I love it thank
Wait the ride deck, when there is grade 1,2,3 from your ride deck and you are already at grade 3 vanguard, can I still get the grade 3 from ride deck or not?
If you rode to grade 3 from your hand instead of the ride deck and still have your grade 3 in the ride deck I'm fairly positive you could still discard a card from your hand to ride from the ride deck as normal during that phase of your turn.
You can't ,it much prefer to ride the g3 from ride deck from ride then go in to persona ride next turn for the power boost
@@crosszdrake7435 it's definitely better to do it that way, but it doesn't mean you can't ride the grade 3 from the ride deck on top of an already grade 3 vanguard surely?
@@dragonwill797 what if you didn’t ride the grade 1 and 2
@@raymondchung3815 still pretty sure you can, the ride deck isn't cards you have to ride for definite. They're cards you choose from your deck that ideally work well together and you'd prefer to ride instead of any others. But sometimes you might not be able to pay the cost to discard and ride from the ride deck. Or perhaps you have a card in your hand that would work better for the situation your in, in that specific match. It's all dependent but to cut it short. Yes you can ride from the ride deck at any grade if I'm correct in saying so
This made me miss Buddyfight
what's the difference between buddyfight and vanguard?
@@ianr.navahuber2195 They are totally different games, but essencially, Buddyfight was also a game made by Bushiroad, and they had also made a tutorial very similar to this one:

The things I noticed that are different to me was first the Ride Deck (I knew about it during their announcement video of OverDress so already understand how to use that, pretty much as long you discard a card from your hand you can ride the next unit higher or the same grade as your Vanguard but one major rule if you do go above a certain unite grade in your Ride Deck you can no longer use that card anymore unless somehow you are able too get it out of your Ride Deck with a skill of some kind, well I’m guessing there’s going to be skills that will make you able too use cards in your Ride Deck as if they don’t then your pretty much have too ride a unite from your Ride Deck if you don’t want to loose that card in the game)
Another one is persona ride, never actually seen persona ride before and I don’t fully get how it fully works and the video didn’t clearly for my understanding tell us how it works other it triggers after you ride a the same unit as your current Vanguard which has the persona ride symbol and you get some Atk power and extra skill from doing so but not the specifics so I will be doing more research onto that.
Third thing which like with Ride Deck which was announced during the reveal its a trigger that you can only have one in your deck and it has plus 1 million Atk power and depending on the card it has a powerful affect that could easily decide the outcome of the game as it’s that powerful called Over Trigger (just a really op trigger in your deck)
Now that’s what I got from the video but I have read the comments that the name sake for this current version of Vanguard is that there’s a skill called OverDress so that’s something I’ll be researching into
Overall still roughly the same game and has gone back too it’s more simple beginnings with some slight difference
Reminds me of yugioh duelists of the roses and the new Digimon tcg
what will we do now with g units
1:58 you already have the model and the cards, why not make the vanguard online game?
