When You Try to Show Yu-Gi-Oh to Your Friends - ruclips.net/video/LfttNKXMcWo/видео.html
Thanks for playing Vanguard, really underrater game.
I played Weiss Schwarz and still couldn't grasp it after about an hour
The weirdest card game I've ever tried was Chaotic. It takes a bit to get the hang of it.
@@dav_4257 how dare u
The fact I actually know how to play all these games
"You can only play 1 per turn" I think Mew VMAX and the non once-per-turn Genesect V are laughing in your general direction.
I was hoping to see him play a card then rare candy it to get around that for more confusion as evolutions don't count to the 1 pokemon per turn.
So basically the floodgate "Summon Limit" huh
Yugioh players don’t understand how broken this deck is
@@Kawaiisikkusu i forgot that card existed but basically yes.
"You can only play 1 per turn" isn't even how the bench works
0:40 this is exactly what I was hoping to see: tricking a old Yu-Gi-Oh! player who is a new Pokémon player into running 4 copies of a draw 3 cards card. Lol
As a mtg player the concept of a free card that lets you draw three cards seems so broken. One of the only things I know about the Pokemon tcg is that level of card draw isn't even considered good and it blows my mind. Wheels for days.
@@seangoldman6833 it's not that getting +3 without drawback is bad in pokemon context(the "stronger" cards all have drawbacks), but because it's a supporter card and you can only play supporter once per turn, and you want that once per turn effect to be used on something bigger
@@shroudedinshout that and there are also cards like cynthia that depending on how many cards are in your hand can be essentially a +5
Bro in almost any card game the "draw three cards" is so good
@@duodecim3452 I guess. But I thought the trick in pokemon is like
1 - You can only play it like once per turn
2 - Drawing cards doesn't mean much if you won't be able to use them which is kinda the case with pokemon where you can normally play only 1 energy card per turn
?
Man I am the King of Games, this is all the proof you need!! Hope y'all enjoyed. For those of you suggesting other games we appreciate the input. Who knows, maybe there will be a part 2 to this
For starters calling your triggers to attack means you missed out on a lot of shields.
It’s gotta be more fun making these skits then actually playing the game
Go fish is a good card game
I actually want u to play Pokémon yet
@@penguinoverlord9994 it's a skit. I've played every game in the video lol
This skit was really well written. Great job, guys!
“Wait til you hear about summoning sickness” and “like an equip spell” had me dying
Watching him special summon those pokemon really made my day
watching him put them in def mode was even funnier
Maybe he thought this was a double or triple battle
I was like:
"My brother in christ, where did you get that you can 'special summon' on the card?".
The first time I tried magic in middle school, I tried to apply what I knew from yugioh. When I saw the power/toughness at the bottom of a creature cars, I equated it to that creature’s atk/def. I was laughed at by the entire lunch table when I tried to summon a Llanowar Elves in defense mode 😂
I played a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh in middle school and got into Magic 3 years ago. I hadn't played Yu-Gi-Oh in 10 years but still needed ages to adjust to the fact that I wasn't able to attack specific creatures. My enemy "declaring blockers" melted my brain
@@TaliesinBHeidkamp Yeah, that was also the thing that took ages for my friend to understand.
When I tried to switc from Yugioh to Magic they got annoyed that I didn't realize creature cards were spells.
I play pokémon and I saw Yugioh and I tried to undertand. You can guess that I didnt understood anything haha
@@TaliesinBHeidkamp Once you play Arena or Magic Online it's not that difficult to understand. Monsters don't really matter as much in MTG as your overall deck archetype whether it's aggro, control, combo, or mid-range. That basically defines our play-style, how you approach the game, what types of decks your own deck is strong/weak against and ultimately how you win.
I would actually love to see you guys play an actual game/games of these different card games for the channel. Cause it would be cool to see how everybody does in each of these games.
Alec did Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress against an actual Bushiroad staff member on the Team APS plus channel last year :)
I feel like they'd enjoy MTG. It's prolly the closest to Yugioh
i feel like the other card games in this video have much less interesting videos about them, and these guys make everything interesting
Right but even so still think it would be cool if they changed things up every so often so things wouldn't go dry
@@hi28 lrr did a stream of digimon, and it was really informative.
That was funny af. Asking response in Pokemon actually had me screaming. The tease when you brought out the Digimon deck box and played Pokemon first instead tho. 💀
yo my man
Yugioh and MTG literally make you paranoid about being countered for playing things in any other card game lol. I'm getting into Digimon TCG and for some reason I still can't stop thinking I'm gonna get hand trapped at some point in my turn.
@@burpinator1 same man
@@burpinator1 Blossom is the better Ash, than Ketchum 🤣
@@burpinator1 I just watched a match between a regular Digi player and a former Yugi Player that day. The Yugi players was always answering "yes" or some synonyms to every play the other guy made.
This reminds me of the Yu-go streamer I watched one night try to learn Magic, who stopped mid game and asked “Man, why do you have to pay for things? This sucks!” It made me crack up the same way this got me. I’m usually the one trying to drag people into new card games, so this is a pretty familiar scenario! Great stuff.
Dude. Yugi has to constantly discard remove and what not to activate effects. In any case boss monsters act as regular magic cards
Those were his words, not mine! And certainly there are occasional costs in Yu-Gi-Oh, but a lot of them are much more about opportunity cost when building your deck than anything else. Also most things are free in YGO, but you have to pay for almost everything in Magic.
Sounds like Farfa and if it is, he was probably joking, honestly, his whole stream was funny af.
No, no, he has a point.
I play both games and I sometimes just sit there thinking: Man... This game is so much slower with the mana aspect. And bricking in Magic sucks even more than in Yugioh because there is NOTHING you can do if you draw too many lands or not enough lands. And all you hear from MTG players is: "Just play a better manabase." But even with the best manabase you can still draw too many or too little. Hence why mulligan exists. I still feel like Mulligan exists because the resource system of the game is fundamentally flawed.
The land system can be a source of frustration for sure, but I still think it’s great. It allows them to not restrict cards from any deck, so you can play anything, you just have to find a way to pay for it.
Lands are great but so is YGO’s one summon per turn and Pokemon’s one energy per turn, etc. The different systems allow the games to feel and play quite differently and that seems like a great thing to me, as long as the designers understand the system they have/have made and account for it. Not having a mulligan was jarring to me in YGO at first, but I quickly realized it’d be way, way too good in that game. There are a number of folks who would argue that the current Magic mulligan is too strong and consistent.
Also worth noting how much tech WotC has started putting into lands to make them dead draws less often, from the Castles being non unique in Eldraine, to the triomes having cycling, to the spell/land MDFC’s, to the current set of Kamigawa channel lands, there’s a lot they’ve been exploring recently and to me basically all of these have felt great.
But I’ve also been playing Magic for literal decades so honestly it’d feel a bit weird if I didn’t lose a few games to just drawing land!
"Your battle phase just ended, main phase 2!"
Loved it!
Someone else said it, but seeing you guys playing these other games now and again would be cool.
"wait untill you hear about summoning sickness"

Out of curiosity, why are you steering clear of Commander? Not that you're wrong to do so, I'm just curious.
@@Ceracio I do play it occasionally, but some if the commander decks are crazy op, especially near the cedh level. I've bought a few commander decks since they look cool and have great cards but it's a much more fast paced format that can be a lot like competitive Yugioh at times, especially if the opponents playing blue. @Calm101 yeah the rebooting twice thing really sucked for me
I remember in High School I learned Magic for the first time. I drew 5 cards at the start for probably my first hundred games from far too much Yugioh conditioning.
I played YGO as my first card game because MtG was "too nerdy and complicated" for my childhood brain. I also watched Pokemon from other kids and I sort of picked up on the basics pretty easily.
Come modern times and Hearthstone was released and I played that. I learned the concept of Mana (and resources in general), then took another look at MtG and it hit me. It ain't that complicated after all!
Now I'm interested in looking at various card games and how they play, mostly because YGO became overly complicated due to its lack of resources leading to near unlimited actions in a single turn. At least, in my opinion.
Magic aint that hatd.... until it is.
It has ALOT of weird edge cases and timeing related shenanigans
@@Ultr4l0f good luck in explaining how "Banding" work ;)
@@easyyo6784 thankfully no one uses banding
Magic not as nerdy as Yogo
Try playing Magic as a Blue/Black or White/Blue player. It'll give you an in depth understand of how to use mana and conserve mana on a turn by turn basis while making opponents salty.
In simpler term on understanding magic is imagine your deck is a Spellbook and you are a mage.
Each card is a spell page pretty much. Lands produce the magical energy or mana which helps as a spell component to cast the spell. Spell be summon creatures from within it, cast spells like instants or sorceries or open a portal to call upon a planeswalker.
Graveyard is where torn spell pages go into which you can restore and bring them back. While exile is pretty much the spell page burned to ashes.
Imagine the Hairy pooper duel (that’s on purpose :D) but facing off one another with Spellbooks instead of wands.
I generally play yugioh and a bit of Shadowverse, but I decided to give other card games a try too. Just got into Vanguard and also looking to get into MTG, Pokemon and Digimon.
>plays tierno
>No respone?
had me rolling 🤣🤣🤣🤣
yugioh is actually the most basic of card games they just made it into a mess
Seeing all these card games remind me of the times I used to play them. I don't really play tcg any more but it does fill me with nostalgia seeing mtg, vg, pkmn and ygo.
I was hoping to see vanguard and was not disappointed lol
Hey team aps you should take into consideration doing a series where people send you their newbie decks from the past and your job is find a way to make their deck viable with today cards by making the changes necessary in order to be viable in some way, but at the same time trying to keep some of the core of what the original deck was trying to do.
I played yugioh but once my friend showed me magic I moved to mtg immediately i found it way way more fun lmao
When Yugioh player play wixoss
"What the hell card key"
"Ur monster's grow???"
"Wth signi"
"Why i can't use spell?...what energy???...cost???"
"Why so numerous card on the table???"
Arts are technically like spells
Vanguard is fun tho, because it has much more interactions
Yu-Gi-Ho player can’t play other card games, because they can’t count more than 3 turns
Other tcg's made me appreciate how much more I like Yu-Gi-Oh
Other tcgs made me appreciate how much I hate Yu-Gi-Oh
For real, there's just nothing as good as yugioh
Naw gurl.
@@AirRunnersViper Tell that to the learning issue.
Now look yugioh like other tcgs is fun to play casually and that you shouldn't hate on it. Its just the other tcgs made me appreciate having more legitimately interaction in games and have in game counters by outskilling the opponent instead of yugioh where if you dont have a main deck answer then you're just gonna lose and pray you draw those cards.
If you're annoyed of yugioh then please I highly recommend other tcgs. Im currently playing vanguard for 7 years, with digimon being my main games.
Also dont be afraid to try out lesser known games like Force of Will, Wixoss, hell even old dead games like Buddyfight or Chaotic is amazing to play online if possible.
Don't let one badly designed tcg ruin your interest in tcgs.
Also side note I do play yugioh still but i gave up playing competitively 6 years ago and been happy since. Hyped for the new Predaplant support and be willing to give it a small try after that but it's not the huge priority atm.
As a vanguard player myself I saw he had 2 heal triggers in the front row and that hurts my soul XD great video you guys
"If you think thats wild, wait until you hear about summoning sickness"
Bro just lay it on him and tell him about all the dumb loops, combos, power monsters and other crazy shit in magic lmao. Love these guys and their skits. Keep up the amazing work, yall are doing great! ❤
Or just the simply absurd cards, like Doubling Season, Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar, Isochron Scepter, Tarmogoyf, Time Stretch, etc.
I can relate to this so much as someone who plays most of these games. I feel like yu gi oh is a lot faster than most other card games, and has more otk potential. was my first card game I sweated in and in design, I think it’s pretty well made.
"Any card game?"
Oh crap, he's pulling out Uno.
Taking a break from ygo and having a lot of fun with vanguard. Still, love ygo but i feel like having to tryhard when i play and the dont care for the format atm. Brave DPE is also way too expensive for something that i dont see lasting a while. Vanguard is way cheaper, way more casual friendly, and you can build your favorite decks, stick with them and do relatively fine. Would suggest people to give it a try.
Learning the ins and outs of different card games isn't that different from learning the ins and outs of different decks.
Your wallet cries just as hard either way
As a MTG Fan I'd like to see a Quick explaination of istantant and STACK or counter spell but the Land as field joke got me good
I've played a lot of card games. Yugioh and naruto are easily the best 2.
Didnt like magic or chaotic at all.
Pokemon and inuyasha were pretty good but still miles behind yugioh and naruto
Having never even seen it myself, I have heard really good things about the Naruto TCG. I'm a magic player myself, and I am curious what you didn't like about it. I find it interesting to get perspectives from players of other games.
As a yugioh player I'm too stubborn to even try other card games also great video
"Draw 3 cards? That's broken!"
tfw card is actual trash and nobody plays it hahah
He didn't even want to try to expose the dude to Legends of the 5 Rings. 🤣
As a Vanguard player: I was kind off hoping for the jokes to be about how guarding from hand is like having a hand trap or how the base powers of the units would look VERY absurd if taken into YGO context XD.
Wait until they see Link Joker in action. Its Ojamas on crack.
"You out monsters in your spell and trap zone?" Please don't give Konami any ideas
Pokemon does have cards that would be banned immediately in yugioh 🤣 some cards let you draw 7
1:09 🤣 no such thing in pokemon
Pretty awesome video guys. I hope you can make a part 2 of this.
