I used to play Vanguard back in 2014 alongside with Yugioh but i never felt vanguard very "unique" between both so i kinda left it behind, but now with all of these new mechanics and rules i'm very interested on going back again and play Pd: Nice explanation and quick examples, it really helps a lot!
This left me with 2 questions, which would've been 3 if I didnt know that checks on the defensive went to your hand. 1) if you are the first to start the game you don't draw at start of turn like in Vanguard Zero? 2) Imaginary gifts are supposed to be face down in the pile and you don't look through them when grabbing one? Imaginary Gifts are very new to me since I'm still learning the physical game and only have played on the mobile game which plays very differently in some aspects.
1) you draw every turn even your first, and in zero you draw if ypur first but the your opponent draws 2 2) you can look at you gifts its not like a deck where you have to shuffle and all
I saw my friend tried to teach his girlfriend how to play vanguard. They played without any skill as you did and he used Murakumo while his girlfriend used Oracle. She mentioned that it's not that Accel get an extra circle that will stay along the game while she get a marker that can only use once. I think Protect is the worst gift to play without any skill.
Big same, this what I tell others too, though it seems that I was much better at comprehending the learning so it may not work for everyone, so it's probably good to learn from both the anime and tutorial videos
Thank you for making this, I just got 2 vanguard trial decks, Royal Paladins and Kagero, while I doubt I could invest a lot of money in the game, I did like the show, and the game has interested me since it first came out
Oh hey I forgot about moving Rearguards! I haven't played Vanguard in years so I am pretty forgetful on the rules so these videos are awesome help! Keep up the awesome work!
3:12 in this game we won’t be using any abilities. On the other hand there is a format called premium.(strides, legion, crossbreak ride, and a swirly red headed boy that has the power of anime by their side)
Yeah, Premium will be part of the series at one point. Gotta keep building up. I want someone to be able to have NEVER played VG before, watch this series and be ready for a tournament :)
I've been trying to figure out the rules for vanguard for some time now, and I got most of it figured out. The part that stomps me the most are the drive check and damage checks. Are drive checks needed to attack your opponent or vanguard. Or is it just to give your vanguard a boost. Also what is the purpose of the damage check ? is it supposed to be some kind of counter attack, also what's the deal with the critical number in the canter of the lower part of the card. Does that indicate how much damage your vanguard has taken. I could use some help understanding this.
Not sure about the critical thing, but damage checks are basically so that if your vanguard’s current score (let’s say 7000) is surpassed than you will be dealt damage. If you get a check that says +5000 you now would have 12000 on your vanguard, allowing you to not take damage
Hi I'm new. I just want to ask what to do if you don't have a card to ride with. Ex : I have grade 2 vanguard and it's my ride phase but I don't have a grade 3. What can I do so that I won't skip my ride or I won't be delayed.
Good start, but per tutorial vids missing some important details, how many cards can go into a deck? When do you get to draw (is it only when you ride, or always at the start of the turn)? Around 9:32 it looks like you drive check, it fails, but the card goes into your hand (appears to be so as I watch other drive checks)? It's not clear what happens when the power matches your opponents, and I'm not certain who is being attacked all the time, a clear display or mention of which card is attacking which, and what power, would be handy.
can we appreciate how they are playing without sleeves? idk why but im not a fan of card sleeves... plus i really like the backs of the cards i really dont like bland color sleeves
If you call a grade 3 with an imaginary gift, but it's not your vanguard, does that also get you a gift marker? Or does it have to be rode as the vanguard?
I have a question about drive checks and battling. 1, if I reveal a normal unit in a drive check, do I add it to my hand or is that only if it has a trigger? 2, say my vanguard took damage and then one of they opponents rearguard attacks my vanguard, in between attacks, doesn't my vanguard gain +5000 attack each time it looses a battle for that turn?
Can you mix clans in your deck or do you have to stick to one type? For example if you have an accel dragon deck does it have to be all dragons, or can you have one of the ninjas in there?
Ack I still di t get it with the protect etc stuff what do the symbols give me since protect can allow me to protect against any attacks and I can guard info want too I'm still very confused
When an ability requires the retirement of the opponent's unit, does beating it in battle count? (My unit gains 5k if an opponent's unit is retired during this turn.)
If 1 of you rear guards or your vanguard gets attacked and it does 5000 on the left side of the card it hepas a shield so if my shield is 6000 do i take damage or,is it only id the attack is higher than the shield (
This is simpler than yugioh but also way more difficult to understand. tcgs are like languages. I’m not through the video but vangaurd seems kinda boring like it’s just “summon monster with lots of power, next turn DO IT AGAIN, repeat” can you tel me if i am missing something
That's definitely not what Vanguard is like as stuff gets deeper. This video is trying to keep things EXTREMELY simple for new players. Try checking out this vid: ruclips.net/video/hop4ttoPx0c/видео.html
Does the power will stay the same on the vanguard or rear guard? And what about when i ride another grade 3 to an grade 3 does the power increase and i get an imaginary gift?
The power of any card will be what is written on said card, unless skills change that. However, you DO get another immaginary gift if you ride another grade 3. In fact, it's recommended to do so.
You can have a lot of markers as long as you have enough for every re ride of your grade 3. For my Nubatama clan I have 18 protect markers 10 Protect I and 8 Protect II.
hye..im new in vanguard, afew days actually can u clarify soething for me? i notice, your opponent take dmg even when she draw a crit trigger? as i know, crit trigger increase her power by 10000 and that means, she can shield your attack, but, she still take the damage? 6:45 btw..
Hey Solemn, how do cards like Dragonic Kaiser Vermillion battle works? Since it can battle all of my opponents front row units and how does the defense go?
When Vermillion attack all font row units, you can't intercept with a grade two if there attacked. Then if you want to guard a unit like a rearguard and your vanguard: you would have to guard both of them. Any more questions?
@@atticusrez4343 First you attack at unit then the player who own the attacked unit may guard. If a vanguard is attacking a unit: the defending player choose to guard and the vanguard drive checks.
