If I buy a quartz watch, I want it to be a solar.
Mark Klein or kinetic
@@jaym0517 I like mine to be solar because I won't be wearing it everyday. With a solar watch I can just put it back on without any adjustments.
I love my solar but I'm not confident in it lasting more than 10 years
@@markklein8725 actually it will require more adjustments then battery quartz as solar watches stop running if not charged by light
I’ve had my solar powered G-shock for over 10 years and it’s multiband 6 so the time is always accurate
The second hand doesn’t align with the markers. Always annoying to me.
I noticed that too. I don't have a problem with buying and owning quartz watches but it drives me nuts when the seconds hand doesn't hit the markers. Otherwise a great looking watch.
Quartz...I'll get a Timex or Casio. Not better than the Hamilton.
I own one of these watches. I wear mine on a grey Barton canvas strap. Im in the UK military and currently using it on a deployment to central America
The main reason I would get this one over the Expedition is cost. The Expedition is what, 5 times as expensive as the Venture? Pretty cool watch for the price.
If you want a tough, reliable, waterproof quartz just buy a gshock.
Banjalukajemojgrad. We’re talking about field watches.. google it.
Boldr's versions are a good alternative to digital g shocks and titanium is a huge bonus.
Johnny K. Do you have an article referencing from your statement?(Not saying I do not believe you) I just want to read the article because I truest live the micro brand watch. I own both the expedition and the venture automatic version.
Same issue I always have with watches for actual use outdoors where we are only looking at them as a tool - a $40 gshock is more capable in every single way, unless having an analog disay counts for something.
Of course, if you allow style to creep into it, or if you're just buying a field watch because you like the look, have at it. I have a hamilton khaki field mechanical that I wear casually and enjoy, but if I was going camping, it would sit in a drawer while my gshock would be on the wrist. I wouldn't want to ding up a $400 watch. A $40 watch that probably won't ding anyway because it's plastic? Who cares, even if it does ding up. Gshocks are so ugly anyway, not like being a little beat up can make them any worse :D
I am very happy with my Boldr Venture. Great watch, with some great details, like the lug design, signed crown, caseback . Very light and comfortable. Sometimes i prefer a heavier watch, but other times this one makes more sense. The same thing for the quartz movement. Love my mechanics, but is good to have a grab and go watch, and it makes lot of sense a quartz movement in a field watch, with a sapphire glass, 100m, light, with lume. And is silent, too. The only annoying thing is the miss aligned seconds hand...
Nice watch. Also like the Bertucci line.
I was shopping for a quartz field watch as a kind of tough daily driver. I had it narrowed down to the Boldr Venture and the Vaer Field watch. I ended up choosing the Vaer and I’m glad I did. It’s 40mm , screw down crown, sapphire crystal & comes with 2 straps of your choosing. Movement is Swiss Rhonda quartz. They also assemble them there in Long Beach ,CA. The case and screw in crown sold me on it , and it didn’t disappoint. The quality is apparent and it feels tank-like. I’m going to keep an eye on that company as they are releasing an automatic this year as well..
I have an 8” wrist and I wear this watch regularly, it fills a sweet spot, my SNK 807 just sits in my watch box.
Now there is a Automatic version. And I say: the ultimate Hamilton Killer!
The automatic version of this is coming out!
As one who loves camping and off road, I love your outdoor watch reviews. I will definitely check out the other channel. But most importantly, what did she need so badly from the Jeep that she couldn't wait for the video to end? A sweater? Some cheese? One can only imagine.
That is a watch in which we agree on . It is beautiful . I love quartz and hand wound watches , I don't like automatics .
The Citizen BN0118-55e on a strap is my new fav field watch. I now have retired my SNK. That Boldr is not a bad choice at this price point. It looks great.
I prefer heavier watches, my every day watch ways over 130 grams, I also prefer automatic watches, and I personally don't like the black Finnish, my watch is not looked after ant and because of this has quite a few bad scratches, and I'm really scared of scratches on a black watch because I don't think they can hide themselves as well as on a gold or silver, but a great video I love the channel
Thank you very much for introducing this item.
but it seems like bertucci a-2t model
same crown position and 100m waterproof, quartz movements and raw material is Titanium only different is case. a-2t is 40mm and venture is 38mm
If you do not mind, can you compare boldr and bertucci products next time?
Great review!!! I love my Venture!! Just because it has a quartz movement does not bother me, as I am a true watch addict. It's hard to find a watch with the same specs for the price point I bought mine for (got it on kickstarter early bird for an awesome deal). I have to say that it is always odd to handle such a light watch, along with my Marathon Military Navigator resin watch. They may feel light, but they are both great watches and I would love to see a shoot-out between them.
How do you think these compare to the Bertucci?
Nothing wrong with a quartz watch, I've got a Citizen eco-drive similar in size and specs to this (no sapphire tho) as a daily beater. It's great and super accurate, I use it to check my automatics and once it's charged it's supposed to run for 6 months without any light at all. And for the price you definitely wouldn't feel bad if you destroyed it somehow.
I like your Black Jaguar, White Tiger sweatshirt. A good organization I think. I also agree with your issue with the NATO. I run into a lot of NATO straps that just aren't long enough for my 8 inch wrist. I wish the Venture was 40mm, otherwise, seems great for a great price.
Your wrists aren’t huge....but they are ridiculously powerful, almost as powerful as the beard! Almost!
Hmm a sapphire crystal and a titanium case for $150? Where can I purchase said item? Everywhere seems to be out of stock.
Hey Jory- Like A Jones above, I would love to see your take on the Marathon Navigator. I have the Boldr Venture as well, but the Marathon gets more wrist time. Let me know if you need the Marathon for a “Shootout”!
Oh no, the seconds hand doesn't hit the markers! Love the titanium case, sapphire crystal, and handset, though. Thanks for the video!
Good video as usual, Sir. I don't understand how a quartz movement like that Venture would be frowned upon solely because it's quartz. Ah well, a mystery I'll probably never understand. Ah, look at the time on my Seiko Tuna - gotta go...
Man! Great video, love the setup 💪🏼😎
Don’t understand why people have issue with quartz movement. I buy a watch because it speaks to me. I have quartz, automatic, mechanical, and solar. Nothing like just being able to grab a watch and go.
I have one. I am pleased with it, I changed the strap though
My Venture’s stem popped out and now I can’t set the time (not impressed). I replaced it with a Vaer Field as my quartz beater watch. My hammy 38 auto is solid and a class of its own.
Jerome Hunt I got the Vaer as well , great watch so far .. curious to see their new automatics later this year..
rex racer I am too.
It is reasonably priced has titanium and sapphire - there is lot to like here. But I already have a khaki mechanical and a gshock square so I'm all set.
Nice look and good price. To bad there's no date. I got nothing against quartz as far as accuracy but you never know when their gonna go dead. I'll stick with my Hammy Khaki Field Titanium for everyday and the Casio GPR B1000 for the trail.
which nato strap was it that you are wearing now?
Yes, better in every measurable way than the Khaki- weight, accuracy, toughness, water resistance, style...but doesn't have the history of the Hammy . Cheers 👍
Not even style.
around 9 minutes:why is it not ticking on the seconds indicator?
Nice watch winder in the background.
Is the 12 misaligned to the left?
If you were gonna buy your own NATO Strap what width would your purchases?
Some of these Venture models have dials that are slightly canted counterclockwise.
Nice watch, but for 38mm, light, tough,..I’d stick with my Seiko snk809
How about a video comparing Boldr Venture to the Vaer Feild watch?
Looks like he listened. I think I like the Boldr better (though I do prefer date complications)
I never consider quartz movement as a negative, I personally prefer them.
4:32 Sasquatch just raided your Rubicon.
I'm not against quartz watches, I like them too, I'm not even against swiss quartz movements, but it is huge turn down for me, when the second hand has no idea where the indices are.
nice jeep tj , i have the same front bumper on jeep yj too
You really need to do a review of the Islander field watch....
They now have a NH35 200m version.
Great review, but when you say durable watch, I hear Gshock. Just saying ;)
I am getting the Hamilton kaki 38
Looking at the dial shot of this watch, the fact that the second hand doesn't line up with the indices would drive me crazy.
i can hear that seconds hand ticking by just looking at it.
I own the watch and it actually doesnt tick audibly haha
No that's Blasphemy khaki owns all lol. What do you think of the Borealis Adraga as a field watch. I own one but im not sure it's a field watch ???.
If we have to use a quartz movement, I’d go with a citizen or a seiko solar.
Man some one steals something from your really nice jeep...😜
The boldr Venture black Dawn says it's an automatic
The second look like it's not always right on the chapter ring.
Bertucci titanium watches have better specs at a lower price point :)
The second hand doesn't seem to match the index
Boldr should have gone with a Sellita SW300 movement. Most likely could have kept it at the same thickness and been an automatic vs quartz.
I'm glad they didn't, the only two times I've had movement problems were with sellitas
Dustin Dodge would be interested to know what problems you had.
One felt extremely grimey turning the crown, both needed new reversing wheels
Is it me or is the second hand really off?
Nice Rubi 🚙
Im late to this one, however I own both and the Venture does not even deserve to be compared to the Hamilton. My two cents. The Venture feels extremely cheap, the hands are very reflective making it very hard to read.
Looked through the comments and I feel better... how are you comparing a standard quartz watch to a mechanical?
Literally watch the video and you can see my comparison.
The Time Teller To be fair I did comment a few minutes in and then watched it. I see what your saying. Good review. Nice to find this channel! (I also subbed before the video was over to be fair. Lol)
😂 it’s all good! I really appreciate you sticking around and watching the episode!!
Welcome to the channel!!
L2L 482mm On the expedition !!!
Obviously better than Hamilton Khaki
Ain't spending my money on a quarts watch and no screw down. Pass
Logan Newcome you should check Vaer Filed watch. Their watch is 40mm wide, lug to lug 48mm, sapphire, swiss quartz and 100m screw down crown and back and price sub150usd!!!!!
I’m happy with my boldr Everest and don’t like quartz...... anymore
I just don’t understand how it could be so hard to line up the seconds had with the marker la on the dial!!! Why are quartz watches always like this?? QC people!
Rubi+Connie÷beard=camping.....
Sooooo you're saying that this is a good Glamping watch? k, cool, cool.
$150!!!! That's a damn deal!
this is an automatic watch now they don’t make it in quartz if pretty sure
Not for me. I don't think it's very good looking at all. And the second hand it off by very noticeable amount. I'll keep my Tough Solar for a tough quartz.
Too small
Not sure you should be out in the flesh air mate, your body isn't built for unfiltered oxygen.
meh
I wanted to see the watch not bearded guy talking about it
Hui
What
Click bait, it’s not better.
