    I had a speech contest at school today. I had barely begun my speech and I forgot the whole script except for the first 2 lines. I just stood there and looked down at the ground, trying to remember. But the way how the teachers (the judges) shuffled around, the kids muttering to themselves, some even staring at me when I glanced up, that sent me into a mental breakdown. I choked out a "sorry I forgot the speech" and they clapped for politeness, and I hurried back to my chair and started to shake and cry silently. The other students didn't say anything, they didn't want to embarrass me that they noticed, but that thought made me feel even pathetic about myself. I have serious glossophobia. I'm still shaking as I type this comment. 😭

      Yeah I do acting. So I always fail to pronounce a word or showing emotional actions and I get embarrassed. But that's what everyone else does. They make mistakes, but I learned exercising before speaking really brings down the anxiety. Ex. Jumper Jack's, push-ups, or stretching

    It is always scary for ten or more minutes, depends of your confidence and your technique to cope with fear. When you fell panic is overwhelming you, just change the center of your attention, for example touch your other hand, face, do some unprepared move... Breathing is also important.

    How to overcome my fear of public speaking? I started to experience anxiety attacks, a racing heart, and feelings of nausea so intense that I avoided it for years. It seeped into every aspect of my life, making it impossible to function normally.

    • @juliagrace9777
      @juliagrace9777 4 года назад +15

      Katelyn Lockwood same here. Everytime I have to present something I just go ahead and tell the teacher I can’t do it and to just go ahead and take the points off. Idc about the grade! A lot of the time I’ll even skip class. If the teacher calls on me to read or answer questions I have to tell her after school that I don’t like being called on and she won’t. But sometimes they still do and I just go home and cry. My parents are getting medication for my nerves Bc it’s getting so bad
