Source of anxiet: 1_ Situation based anxiety : instead of thinking about it as a performance we need to reframe it as a conversation and to do that you need to : Practice conversationally, use conversational language, and questions 2_ The audience : visualization is the key 3_ The goal of the speech : these goals are all in the future, but at this case we need to be in the present situation, to do that: do some pushups, play little game, counte backward from 100 or play the tongue twister game . Hope you'll find this usefull
We watched this in my speech class today and it legitimately bothered me so much that i found this video just so i could say: He looks like Toby from the Office
Asking questions is very important, creating dialog really helps defusing anxiety. Another point for me was that I would often say I hate speaking, saying this all the time really creates an unnecessary anxiety.
I used to be terrified of it, but last year I had to do 6 presentations in uni! And now today another one . I am a little nervous but not as I used to. What helped me? stopping thoughts, stop thinking about what others may be thinking, and preparing well.
Easier said than done. I have a presentation on Tuesday. But I will apply your techniques. I am my worst enemy when it comes to public speaking. I will try to think like this and I will succeed. Thanks for this video.
Im thinking about creating a platform where people can perform infront of an random audience. It will be a longterm project, are there any people that would like to have such an service?
+Rotbard1337 Hello there! Nice video you have there! Since you are on the topic of Child Anxiety; have you bought from " Vidadsmedia Child Anxiety Treatment " (should be on google...have a look)? My boss had some dealings with them and was impressed by their awesome treatment when the Anxiety issue was completely treated !
Fantastic presentation. Getting a lot of value out of it. Love the idea of being "in the moment". I personally crack my knuckles and neck and that gives my brain the "let's do this!" queue.
Thank you Mr. Abraham for your lovely talks ... you know what !! I like the music in your talks ... I like the way you speak more than what you say :) ... your audios are played in my car when I travel ... I accept that they are music to my ears.
im just about to leave for a speech and hopefully all these things will help. im feeling fine but I know in 15 minutes all of this is about to change. I will tell you how it went when I come back lol
I have the same problem, but I just thought about if I think about it as if its like someone who's totally on my side & won't get offended if I mess up something, I think it might help me, maybe it will help someone else also
Matt, I have no probems singing in public on stage, but face huge anxiety speaking /presenting in public. As such not sure if performance anxiety is applicable in my case?
What’s missed here is the fear of embarrassing yourself, showing nervousness, blanking out, etc. When you think of what might go wrong, the anxiety surges.
