    Especially in the colder weather splitting your wood a bit smaller will help to not bring the fire's core temperature down too much when adding more fuel 👍😎 Firebox fire management is just a little different than a ground fire. For your first Firebox cook-up you did a excellent job!👍😎

      Well thank you Steve, I really appreciate that. Next time I will uses smaller pieces of wood, they were also a big tall I think but it’s a learning process with the Firebox. So much can be done with it & I’m watching your videos to learn, I love the engineering and how much thought has gone into it. I’ve used the Firebox nano on a few occasions and that is an also very good little stove 🔥👍

      I know, I just wanted it to look nice plated up but I got distracted by some dog walkers coming over to ask me what I was doing and it nearly went cold while I was talking so I rushed it onto the plate 😬

      Well thank you, it was rather nice wouldn’t have been the same without black pudding. Having it out in nature made it that bit better. Kinda making myself hungry now thinking about it 😋

    Mushrooms last as they need the least to cook and like sponges being porous soak up all the fats and juices needed to cook the meats etc! Presentation was a bit iffy but as someone once said. even the most expensive most amazingly prepared and displayed food, all ends up going to make a Turd!!! :) great video though! cheers!

    • @LoneWolfExplorer
      @LoneWolfExplorer  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes I agree presentation was definitely a bit iffy, I had some dog walkers come over asking questions just as I was about to plate up. I then rushed it on the plate to quickly eat it before it went cold. Thanks for the advise on the mushrooms, I always put them on after the sausages as I like them well done but I will bear that in mind ;)

    Hi- great video, you’ve earned a new subscriber ;)
    A question: I’m new to bushcraft in the UK and I’m wondering- have you ever gotten in trouble from landowners/forestry commission people for starting a campfire in the woods? Or do you find campfires are generally tolerated?
    Cheers

      @LoneWolfExplorer  10 месяцев назад +2

      Thank you, really appreciate that 👍
      Well I don’t actually have a campfire on the ground as I think without permission it would be frowned upon. I only use self contained stoves like the firebox or Kelly kettle and make sure I leave no trace. So far I’ve had no problems. Actually on this video, I had two lots of dog walkers come over to see what I was doing. I had a good chat with one and once she seen my set up she was quite impressed. I was just nice and friendly, we ended up chatting for some time about the great outdoors, my breakie nearly went cold though 😬
