Добавлен 17 авг 2021
Just a Lone Wolf looking for adventure. Follow along as I explore new places while overlanding, car camping, hiking & travelling. The idea behind this RUclips channel is to share the places I visit with you my audience, and hope you enjoy getting out with me. I know that sometimes in life not everyone can do the things they want to & go to the places they wish to visit. If my travel vlog can show you places you wouldn't normally see then thats exactly what this channel is all about. I hope you enjoy :) You will also see me documenting my journey along the way, camper van builds, overland builds, the ups and downs and anything related to my travel life.

better to season pans in the oven at 200-250 to carbozize the oil, like what you do with a cast iron skillet.
@@sphinxios Yes I’ve done this a few times with my cast iron cookware, thanks.
What kind of fuel did you use here?
Hi, I used methylated spirits.
Should’ve dropped to 17 inches and you would’ve got a lot more sidewall which is better for airing down for off roading and if your going to lift it I wouldn’t go ready lift go @subieliftoz
@@lukelloyd2944 Thanks for the feedback, it’s appreciated. I did look at fitting 17s for a little bit more sidewall but the cost of purchasing a new set of wheels was expensive & didn’t warrant it for the traveling I do. I don’t plan on off roading it, only on light tracks I might find while exploring. Unfortunately with the lift, here in the U.K. it’s almost impossible to get any modified parts for a Subaru outback so I was limited to what I could actually import as I couldn’t get anywhere that I could find to ship to me from overseas. I kinda got lucky with the Readylift as it was on eBay and they offered shipping to the U.K. after a bit of negotiation.
Tidy looking motor I like the look of that. The new tyres will be a great addition buddy 👍👍👍
@@360OutdoorAdventures Thanks mate. I have had it in mud and bog on road tyres and it got me out being AWD so now it’s on all terrains it will be much more capable and give me more confidence in any off road situation 👍
They look good mate & the way you are talking about the lift kit we will be seeing you soon
Ha ha yes I’ll be down soon 😂
They look smart, hope they make a difference when you’re out and about!
@@MrBrad248248 Thanks, they should make it a very capable vehicle in any situation I might find myself in 👍
Nice work mate! 👍
@@OutAndAbout-UK Thanks mate 👍
@@LoneWolfExplorer sometimes the subtle changes make a huge difference don’t they
@@OutAndAbout-UK Yes definitely, I fully agree with that 👍
Looking good and brilliant video 👍
@@Camperman01 Thanks, glad you enjoyed it 👍
Nice congrats .. new tyres equals better mileage too
@@lifesahobby Thank you, yes that’s would be a welcome thing a bit more mileage 👍
That does look like a good cook system as you mentioned perfect for when you head out in the car and such like. You can't go wrong with bacon and eggs especially with a brew. Good choice with the earl grey, your garden looks really nice perfect spot for down time. Great stuff. Atvb, Garry
@@360OutdoorAdventures Thanks Garry, yes it’s a great cook set up & I’m looking forward to using it 👍 I do enjoy chilling in the garden when it’s nice and hot 👌
Brilliant video mate..I've got the same stove, love it. Tell you a good idea to try. Heat the stainless pan dry on a medium to high heat, for about a minute. Get a tea spoon of water and drop it on. If the water turns to little balls and floats about, then it means the pan is ready. Then stick an egg on it. It'll be non stick. Try the frying pan over a gas cooker inside your kitchen if you want to see the result easier
@@user-jf6jw6qu2n Thanks I really appreciate that and yes it’s a great stove, I’m loving it also. Thanks for sharing that idea, I’ll definitely give that a go for sure 👍
How much did the tyres cost?
@@nmk0078 They were £328 delivered.
👍
Got a question for you fella. When you shoved the rod through did it pierce the rubber surrounding the wire loom? The rubber is taped to my wire loom so I can't feed it through
@@J4m-ontoast I’m pretty sure it just pushed through nice and easy. From memory there is already quite a bit of loom going through that grommet. Can you take off some of the tape at all?
Agree, great backdrop , looks proper tropical , lovely little stove too 👍🏻
@@MrBrad248248 Thanks, yes it’s a little tropical haven and I love the stove so far 👍
Why not get it really hot next time too get the injectors out better
I’m hoping there won’t be a next time 😂 But I know there will be so if one is stuck I might try that, thanks 👍
Just for future reference … I’d question if you need sound deadening on floor and roof as the ridged design will keep it solid and not much flex to create vibration noise.
Yes I agree with you, that’s why I never put any of the sound deadening mats on the floor. I don’t think you need them with the ridges that keep it solid. But I I did want insulation on the floor and the closed cell foam insulation I think is a good choice as it’s both an insulation and sound deadening in one so you can’t really go wrong. With the roof I thought a couple of pads won’t hurt as I wasn’t 100% sure. I see some people use the sound mats on every square inch of the van, I think this is unnecessary and just adds weight and cost. Thanks for your input 👍
Lovely video bro you da man, oh I have the 25 and 27 so there you have it lol
Thanks mate, I appreciate that. I can see why you have both, I’m already thinking about why I might need a 27 lol
I have the 100mh and I think it's well worth the money.👍🏼
That’s good to hear, I’ve been really happy with mine so far 👍
Wow- absolutely love your backdrop today- beautiful garden- love your design. You’ve made my mouth water with your bacon & eggs 😋
Aww thank you, the garden is always my happy place & with the weather being nice and hot I thought why not enjoy it. Was also a good excuse to use my new stove 😉
Can a man have too many stoves???? Never! 🤣
My thoughts exactly 😉
I have 18" wheels, do you know of any all terrain options?
Well actually yes, Yokohama do these in an 18” as I’m looking at using them on my Subaru in a 235/60/18. Also Falken wildpeaks do a 235/60/18 & Toyo open country do a 235/60/18. I had some BFG all terrain in an 18” on my Discovery 2 many years ago but can’t remember the size, they were bigger than 235/60/18 so it depends on what size you want.
Hello from Portugal!! My friend, after replacing just 1 injector, didn't have any more injection problems? I have the same engine and same problem p0202Error.. and the workshops want me to change all 4 to ensure safety... A hug, continuation of the good content.
Hello there my friend 👋 After changing just the one injector I had no more problems 👍 I can understand the logic though of the workshop as they are trying to prevent further injector issues, I thought about changing all 4 myself so I had no further problems but didn’t want the cost involved.
Looks more like the Caribbean! 😎
I know it does look nice 👌
Love this ❤
Thank you 🙏
Looks good. Were you not tempted to get some nice swamper wheels while you’re at it too?
Ha yes I was and still very tempted but trying to keep the van build as a budget build. I was thinking about just painting the wheels black but who knows what I’ll do in the future as even I don’t 😂
Thanks for the detailed and super helpful video on fitting the VanX curtains in the VW Caddy Camper! 🚐🛠 The step-by-step guide made the process look so manageable, even for a DIY novice like me. 👍 It's amazing to see how much thought and effort goes into every detail, from measuring and cutting the rails to fitting the poppers. 👏 The transformation is fantastic! 🏕✨ Also, big shoutout to Luke at Rusty Nuts for his incredible support and expertise throughout the project. 🙌 Curious to know, do you have any exciting future projects or upgrades planned for the VW Caddy Camper? Your content is always so inspiring and full of useful tips! Keep up the amazing work! 🚐💡
Thank you so much for the kind comment, I’m so glad the video was helpful and you found it useful so you can do the job yourself. That was the motivation behind this video and my others in my caddy van build series. If you haven’t seen those yet, go check them out. I also have a caddy van playlist you might find interesting. Yes Luke has been an absolute legend, hopefully there will be some more work to come on the caddy van🙏
Try turning in the legs from the bottom -- much cooler
Yes good advise, thanks. I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner but I do now 👍
What an absolute joke!
I know, you couldn’t make this stuff up!
Oh my god what an absolute nightmare! I can’t believe everything you had to go through & well done for remaining so cool and calm. That was a real drama and I was literally thinking… no what’s going to happen next! Great episode but glad you got sorted in the end
I know right, not quite the adventure I was hoping but what can you do but try and deal with it best you can. Next drama is getting the van fixed 😬
Never rains pal as they say! What an absolute nightmare! It really shouldn’t be that difficult should it! oi RAC! Van breaks down, recover it and take it home/garage! Keep us updated mate!
Yes exactly, that’s what I thought. It should have been simple but the RAC didn’t seem to communicate even within their own departments & it looks as though they subcontract a lot of work outside of the company. Since they sold to a big investment company in 2015, they have gone downhill IMHO.
Glad you finally got home safe after all that! Not a great advert for the RAC. Hope you can get everything sorted.
Thanks mate, it was an adventure for sure 😉
Wow, unbelievable that, glad you’ve exposed the r.a.c’s terrible customer service though. It will make a lot of people think twice before using them. Hope the vans back on the road real soon 👍🏻
Yes it's quite shocking how I was treated as a customer. Hoping the van will be back on the road soon.
Like 👍🏼 13. Watched til the end. Take care friend 😊Keep going and safe travels ✨
Thank you, I appreciate your support friend :)
@@LoneWolfExplorer you’re welcome my friend 🫶🐯
Unbelievable how the RAC treated you, no wonder you won’t be renewing with them next time!
Yes I won't be renewing with the RAC again that's for sure!
Was a shame to here that you broke down after all the hard work that was put into doing this but you will sort it and be out there somewhere enjoying the van fingers crossed
Thanks mate, I'm sure it will all get sorted in good time & I'll be back out ;)
Looking fabulous pal! 🙌

Thanks for the comment and shout out was a pleasure to help lonewolfexplorer out
where the roof light fixes you could bond some wood to the metal and fix the light through the carpeted roof lining into the wood holding up the lining as the vent will do also
Yes I could have done that actually, good idea. I’m assuming this is for the sag in the roof I was talking about 😉
That’s a top job, very impressive. The caddy van looks awesome now :)
Thanks, Glad you like it!
That is a really good job what you’ve done there , you must be well chuft . Looks perfect ! Great videoing too 👍🏻
Thanks & yes I'm well chuffed with how it has turned out, totally transforms the van from work van to camper van :)
