Thank you Chris! I'm so glad you are liking your new 5-WAY cooker from Firebox! You've only had yours for a week or so and it looks like your skill with it surpasses my own 😅😂😊 You have such a great sense for outdoor cooking! I knew you would pick this up and run with it 👍😎 Cheers mate!
Hi Steve, thank you for sending this wonderful bit of kit out to me. Together with the Firebox I feel I have a complete unit to which I can pretty much cook anything, out there in that location it was a real pleasure, cast iron for me adds a different taste to food so I'm really chuffed, thanks for that and for sharing the video, good luck with the kick starter campaign, going to be lots of happy people out there😎🥧🥧
And thank you for giving me your time to watch, I remember some of your comments from before so always nice to hear from you, every time I go out im always learning something, always good fun to, thank you, Chris
It is lol, perfect size for the camper, I'm looking forward to a stew next. Plus I can store the food in it and it fits the Firebox for storage too, it's a complete unit. Thanks for sharing the video, very kind, staying in Edinburgh for a week now, off for a pie😎😁🥧
Great video which made me hungry. I have the regular firebox and couldn't be happier. Adding this is just icing on the cake. I'm sold. Love cast iron and own a bunch. I also subbed.
Hi there, great comment, always good to hear from a cast iron fan, I love my Firebox, many a good memory, the two together go really well, looking forward to the next cook, many thanks for watching and subbing in, much appreciated, Cheers Chris
Thank you, outdoor cooking and steak is a winning combination ha ha. Hope the new year saw you in both well and that you had a nice Christmas. Thanks Chris
Hi there, absolutely I was delighted, very practical and versatile. I'm very grateful and this along with the firebox will become a great go to. Hope you are well, all the best for the upcoming year, Cheers Chris
Take the ash pan of the firebox and turn it upside and there two holes you put the flat rods in and it will hold the ash pan tight up against the bottom of the stove and you can work the ash pan like a damper like in a stove pipe so don’t so hot and Slow the burn down
Thanks Willis. Sometimes when filming there's so much to do that it's difficult to remember it all. Camera was playing up so it was tricky. Hope you are well, thanks for watching, Cheers Chris
Thanks for the video, the food looked really good. I love cooking with cast iron and am looking forward to trying the new Firebox set soon. I just subscribed so I'll be keeping an eye out for more videos.
Hi there, thanks for watching the video, subscribing and commenting, can't beat a bit of steak and cast iron cooking, the firebox I've had a few years now, it's still going strong and I love it, cast iron cooking I love, so the fact I have this unit now is awesome. Cheers for that, Chris
Thanks Paul, chuffed to bits and it's a great addition to my cooking arsenal, a pleasure to use, thanks for watching, appreciate it as always, cheers Chris
Happy new year buddy, it's feels like it's tailor made for they that i like to cook, solid, practical and fun, hope you are well, cheers and all the best, Chris
That looks like a great bit of kit there Chris! I have the nano and the standard Firebox and also love cast iron cooking. Could be the missing piece there! 🙂 btw, found the waxwings eventually!
Well done Trev, I'm still searching ha ha. I think they might be smaller than I imagined. Trev, adding this to the Firebox has given me a complete cooking unit, the Firebox can be stored with the oven too, forgot to show that. Cast iron for me is best for outdoor cooking. Have a good one, Cheers Chris
Absolutely delighted you're getting a bit of recognition, Chris. I know the firebox team has shared a couple of your videos in the past. I've been considering getting a firebox, but I'm torn between it and a trangia 25 (both thanks to your videos😂).
Heh heh that's a tough decision. Both have their merits, I love them both, uniquely engineered. I suppose the only real difference is the firebox can be used with spirit fuel along with twigs and wood whereas the trangia 25 you can only use spirit fuel. You could use the trangia pots in an open fire but I don't as I think they will get too blackened. Still, a good conundrum to ponder. Aye a couple of my videos were shared, makes all the difference. Hope you and the kids are well, Cheers for watching, Chris
Nice, compact Dutch oven……unlike my ‘9 quart’ monster😯😞. Always love using the lid as a skillet😊👍. The bottom looks big enough to do a hearty soup/ stew for 2 😎👍.
Thanks Billy. I have a large Dutch oven so I'm loving this size here, better suited to take out somewhere. I'm thinking of a stew next, nice, easy, hearty and tasty, love the cast iron cooking. Cheers Billy, hope the new year saw you in well. Cheers Chris
Thanks Gregor, this product will stand up to any test that you put it through, that is the northern embers guarantee👍😁. It does actually because the grill side is configured to slot in but if you turn it over and use it how I did here it actually wouldn't slide off because of the deepness, cant think of a better word to describe it. I suppose also you could just take the grill alone and use it with a small open fire with some rocks used for height. I will be taking it out more and will let you know. Cheers Chris

I hate soot too, Firebox has a canister insert to use with Isobutane which is great, also if there’s a fire ban the insert is the only legal way to cook. I love mine.
Hi there, great question. I have two types of outdoor cooking equipment. Clean and dirty. The clean is gas or cooking with say a trangia flame. Dirty is the fire cooking. It's inevitable that you'll get soot when cooking with fire. Out in the field I'll wipe with a handy towel, then take home and clean properly, at home I have rags, sponges etc for the dirty stuff. A little care, it's not too difficult, and then a bit of light oil does the trick. To be honest I maybe only have to do this once a month. Thanks for the question and watching, Chris
I’m notifying the authorities about you abusing that steak with mustard.
Don't do that, they will investigate and discover that I put tomato sauce on my second roll😅😅😅
