*RARE* Crow INDIAN RESERVATION HOUSE TOUR | THREE FAMILIES in 2-Bedroom House | Crow Agency, Montana

  • First Nation families gave me house tours on the Crow Indian Reservation in Crow Agency, Montana. This is a rare glimpse into how Native Americans are living.
I feel like Native Americans are out forgotten people, and it shouldn't be this way.
I came to Billings, Montana for a conference. I visited Little Bighorn Canyon on a day trip, and saw on the map that I was right by the Crow Reservation lands.
I became curious how Native American people live there. I spent about a week exploring the sacred lands and making friends.
My goal in making these videos is to show others how life is like on "the rez". Poverty in America is real.
Everyone told me I should come back in August for the Crow Fair, the big pow-wow and cultural festival of their people. I hope I can make it there next summer in 2020.
I hope you enjoy watching this vlog of the amazing families who welcomed me into their lives with kindness. People here live humble, but are good and kind. ❤
Special thank you to Ally, who introduced me to these wonderful people.

What happened in this country to The natives is appalling. I am a native american in oklahoma living within the cherokee nation in Sequayah county. Im cherokee and the biggest problem we face is Alcoholism, addiction, poverty and unemployment and for the tribes that live on reservations its 100×'s worse. P.S Ive been sober for a yr and a half.

Well congratulations on sobriety but guess what on the other stuff. Life is hard as hell for everyone. We grow up and make hard decisions to move out and move on. Ever ask someone to help you move and get a good job? One thing I will say is I watch many videos on Native Americans and they all openly insult white people. Not sure why people expect something from people so openly insulted. Confusing to me.

They have reservations in every state just about. The Alonie Natives were here in the California bay area they had grass huts and did a lot of fishing and catching shell fish there was mountain of shells year's ago. I'm just 50 I can remember when there was this wild green marsh bush that grew here as kids we were able to make tunnels in it to play. Birds, and ducks would lay there eggs in it. When year's past and many people started to move in all the land that had that green marsh Bush turned into house's being built on the land.

I'm Aboriginal Australian this is how I grow up in Australia, has our family grew we had to sleep in the living room as well. Over crowding is a big issue and because we live outside of town so is employment. Its a tough life when your older but when your a kid you have no idea you just love your community and your family. I am proud of where I come from and live, I will never be ashamed of growing up on a mission aka reserve. The knowledge and wisdom I gained will help only help me grow. This life keeps you more focused on family and love instead of worrying about material possessions, it will definitely keep you grateful and humble.

It was very hard to hear and I’m totally about to botch the name but Jokin or tokin or something along those lines was an adorable child. I kept smiling seeing how excited he was to help with the house tour and the way he shows his toys and more. Truly a spirit of a child. He reminds me of my excitement and curiosity when I was once a kid. I’m grateful to have had this opportunity to witness life in the Res. Very cool video and you were very respectful!👏🏼

I am native but only a small portion of my DNA. Like a fourth. But I love my native people no matter what tribe. This breaks my heart. My mom until she got a lot older and couldn’t do it anymore, for many years she sent clothes, money, & anything she could to the Pine Ridge reservation. My mom is Swedish and Norwegian but she feels in her past life she was a native. This should never happen because it’s their land. This is our land. Every single piece of this earth is native and indigenous peoples land. I’m going to keep watching and when I can donate, I do.
I’m sorry I get so angry. I am also black. And I understand that being disenfranchised and treated so bad by certain ethnicities that are non-POC is the way of the world. When we call this America, the white man named this America. Natives did not call us American. Black people did not call this America. That’s why I do not call myself African-American. I feel like I am just mixed ethnicity and I will never call myself American as if I am falling into the words of the white man. I’m sorry again if I sound angry but my heart breaks because my people suffer both on the native side and the black side. No one should have to live in poverty, no one should have to be introduced to alcohol and then put it in your blood lines & blame them for it later and call them lazy like they call Black people and ignorant and stupid. That is straight bullshit! My people are not stupid, my people are not ignorant, my people are beautiful, my people are intelligent, my people taught the white man how to hunt, how to eat, how to live off the land. God has a special place for the natives & the indigenous no matter what their faults are. And God also has a special place for the people who have oppressed the natives and oppressed black ppl.
We should all stick together, all of us POC. We should not dislike each other because we are not alike. You don’t see a lot of black and natives getting together and hanging out but I don’t know why. It breaks my heart because I want to go to reservations and personally deliver anything I can but I was told that natives don’t like non-natives to come on the reservations. Hopefully when they see me they will know that I am of native ancestry. But some people think that I am Caucasian because I am light-skinned. I am fearful the people on the reservations will feel the same but I am believing also that they are smart enough to know when someone is of native dissent.
If you look at me you will see my native features. I am of Comanche tribe. They might think that I’m Puerto Rican or I I am of Spanish dissent but you can say that about a lot of natives as well
