      I don't know if they wanted the stage structure designed that way, but it sure feels like a sign of respect for the fans. Also everything, from mics to pedals, is top notch stuff and wireless, no risk for the band

  • @thfreakinacage

    A lot of people mock Lars as a drummer, but look how involved in the gig he is! Most drummers just sit back there and bang away. Lars is active, Lars cheers the crowd. Lars even gets up when he doesn't need to be sitting and is actually part of the stage and part of the band. How can you not respect that?!

    • @johnsonc689

      I don't get it. Lars is my favorite drummer.

    • @ramblingsunglassesguy
      @ramblingsunglassesguy 3 года назад +84

      I think it's mostly due to stuff like the Napster situation that people hate him, but yea even with all his mistakes I like him as a drummer.

    • @thfreakinacage
      @thfreakinacage 3 года назад +45

      @@ramblingsunglassesguy Could well be, but I reckon that's a stupid reason. They only did what absolutely every single other artist on earth ever would have done but didn't. haha. In fact I would even admire him, and the band, for actually having the balls to get up and do something about it. And this is from a guy who discovered kazaa in his teen years. I absolutely abused that program :P haha!

    • @ramblingsunglassesguy
      @ramblingsunglassesguy 3 года назад +13

      @@thfreakinacage I agree, it's a dumb reason to hate him, but at the same time most people were mad because it helped smaller artists get their songs out in the spotlight, so to them Metallica was just making it harder for smaller artists to break out.

    • @thfreakinacage
      @thfreakinacage 3 года назад +5

      @@ramblingsunglassesguy Indeed, it's definitely a 2 sided argument. Without sharing a lot less people would even hear of a lot of the emerging artists. It's definitely not so much a problem today I guess though since everyone and their dog has Spotify, haha. But definitely back in the day it certainly helped spread the word.

    I covered a lot of these songs as a lead guitarist in the 90s when I was in my early 20s. It was damn hard work back then. Now i'm in my 50s I've switched to bass lol.
    Massive props to these guys for keeping fit and still rocking 2hr shows.

    I’m 17 and I’ve listened to Metallica most of my life. I love all of their stuff from Kill Em’ All to Hardwired. In my opinion the Hardwired album and this tour are the best they’ve ever been. I know there are people who disagree and everyone is entitled to their own opinions of “They suck now compared to back in the day” but personally I enjoy this new era of Metallica the best. Just my two cents ^^

This thing never gets old but I just can't figure it out, the linear energy of it all, it simply doesn't weaken with time - nor I am getting bored of it for SUCH A LONG TIME nor those bastards lose any strength doing it. Here’s how you know Lars is a fantastic drummer - Robert starts For Whom with his “heys” too quickly and Lars jumps in and sets the beat and outright ignores him and the crowd to set up the song. It’s a simple thing, but when you have a monitor in your ear and an entire stadium chanting at a different cadence it is difficult. As a guitarist I have a ton of respect for him as a drummer; him and Robert make a hell of a pair musically for locking down the beat.

      I feel like Lars has good concerts and bad concerts (like any other musician). Personally, it’s a bit hard for me to ignore his mistakes but he is pretty tight most of the time. But then again a lot what he has to do is just kick, snare, kick, snare
      I agree but I wouldn’t say fantastic. He’s decent at best.

    • @hellfirepictures
      @hellfirepictures 2 года назад +3

      @@RLPETTY04 Oh give it a rest. There is not one musician alive who doesn't make mistakes. We ALL do. Heck, Brian May just fucked up his solo at the Queen Elizabeth Jubilee concert - badly - and he's considered one of the best. I've made more mistakes than I can count and I was considered one of the best in my field too. I come from a classical background and worked with some of the greatest musicians and conductors out there and they've all made mistakes - and it's an awful lot more noticeable in Classical music! So anybody who pretends musicians should be some kind of perfect machine needs to sit down and shut up! There's a reason records are very rarely ever produced in one take.
      As for kick snare kick snare - you're a fool who has obvsiouly never actually listened to the music. So go and actually listen - and then be quiet.

    • @RLPETTY04
      @RLPETTY04 2 года назад

      @@hellfirepictures Okay first off, you're 10 months late to this argument, so calm down. Secondly, stop trying to act like you know absolutely everything. Jump in the fire, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Fight Fire with Fire, Blackened and several other songs use "kick snare kick snare" so pipe down about be not listening. Maybe you should listen, because in my original comment I alluded to the fact that no musician is perfect.
      Here's what I wrote: [I feel like Lars has good concerts and bad concerts (like every other musician)]
      I don't get you man. You're a "classical musician" who "was one of the best in your field" who decided to defend a multimillionaire who doesn't care what you think. So please, fight a different battle, keyboard warrior.
