What the hell, people? These guys took the time to put together a compilation album and all you can do is complain just because your personal favorite song is not on the list? Come on. Just enjoy the music. You can search for your favorite song by itself if you want to hear that. Great job to the people who put this together!

Absolutely true about the live stadium experience. I've seen Metallica 5 times! First time was with my friend Kelly when I was 20. I'm 42 now. I went again with my brother Mike and a late boyfriend (he passed in 2009) later. Then another time with both of my brothers and a friend 6 years ago, which was great having all 3 siblings at a Metallica concert! Went again with friends, then most recently with my husband. It's been an amazing experience watching them evolve!
I wish they could´ve stayed frozen in time, forever not aging, after "Master of Puppets"... What a live band!! Saw them back then 6 or 7 times around the NY area, and i can say they´re allways superb, allways kick ass!

I would have probably traded Fuel and Attitude for Ride the lightning and Justice, but if I'm honest to make a proper greatest hits list for Metallica it would have to be 25 or more songs long.

I love the comments. I think their best hits is every song they every wrote :). Might as well just back to back their albums. I would have replaced disposable heroes with that thing that should not be. Otherwise all you can do is just add to the list and have about 13 hours of listening. Nice job.
i see lot of comments about this song should be and where is the other one. you know what's better is all metallica catalog as a best of in order to please you all.
De Centroamérica la música trasciende las fronteras de la etnia, el amor a todos con agradecimiento a Metallica por soportar el cansancio del tiempo! cheers mates! 🙂
When I first started to listen to disposable heroes I kept listening to it over and over again until I decided to learn it on my bass and as of today I can say that it’s very hard to create more songs but since I changed my bass strings I’m just doing whatever
Be glad they evolved and still get to play stadiums when so many other metal and hard rock bands died out pre 2000…I wish so many Metallica fans would stop complaining about their evolution to stay relevant and popular…I can’t think of another band who wrote new music in so many consecutive decades WITHOUT having to rely on their early hits to stay relevant…
to all young metallica fans.... try "paradise lost" if you havent found them yet,.. they add another dimension to the metallica flavour,... (respectfuly...i might add)
The thing is you have to include the entire albums "Kill em all", "Ride the lightning" , "Master of puppets", "And justice for all" Every song. After that you can pick and choose tracks off the rest...If you really want!
1. Master of Puppets 2. One everything else is debatable but you have to admit those are their two best songs, even if they're not necessarily your favorite
Gen X'er in that group for sure! Growing up in the 80s was a complete blast ( was 11 in 1980 so majority of my teen years were spent, in my opinion, in the most fun decade in a long time!). Rules were much more relaxed-no curfews-I used to be out at all hours and survived. Police didn't hassle people about that many things- there was more of a "just stop doing that and go on your way" attitude toward "small" things. I had all the Metallica records and also loved Iron Maiden a lot-still do 🙂Miss those those times and love many genres from that time period.
My track list for a one disc Greatest Hits... 1. Seek and Destroy 2. For Whom the Bell Tolls 3. Master or Puppets 4. Welcome Home (Sanitarium) 5. Blackened 6. One 7. Enter Sandman 8. The Unforgiven 9. Bleeding Me 10. Memory Remains 11. Whiskey in the Jar 12. St. Anger 13. Cyanide
1. For Whom The Lars Tolls 2. Master Of Lars 3. Disposable Lars 4. Lars 5. Nothing Else Lars 6. Enter Larsman 7. Larsier Than Thou 8. The Four Larsmen 9. Creeping Lars 10. Lars 11. Larsitude 12. Larsery 13. Larsened
stop complaining about which song should be on the list and which song should'nt.. go make your own video if you are not agree with this list.. people came here to listen the song, not to complain..
well theyve had 10 studio albums, so picking one best song is definitely not easy. although 2 of their most known songs are probably "Enter Sandman" and "Master of Puppets". One recent favorite that i got addicted to though is "Sweet Amber" mostly just for the awesome guitar at the start. The album that song is on though is not very liked by most fans. As for all the original members still playing, almost. First lead guitarist left (dave mustaine), but that happened before the first album was even released, and since then its been the same lead guitarist, singer, and drummer, but theyve had 4 different bassists
1 Master of Puppets, 2 For Whom the Bell Tolls, 3 Sanitarium, 4 One, 5 Nothing Else Matters, 6 And Justice for All, 7 Harvester of Sorrow, 8 Battery, 9 The House that Jack Built, 10 My Friend Misery. I know a lot of people don't like going to load for this, and I get it, some even Black Album, but by sound alone, this is how I think it should be, possibly switch a few numbers slightly.
I remember going to the Music For Nations head office in London to buy Master Of Puppets on the day of it's release in the UK. I was waiting in anticipation ever since the date had been announced in Kerrang! magazine, my friends thought I was nuts going all the way to London just to buy it when I could have waited maybe a couple of days to buy it locally, but I wanted to see the label's office anyway, being a complete Metallica geek at the time.
@Jay-Vee That's why i love you brother! there are those that wait, there are many who follow along and there those that just watch what others do... most of them will continue to wait and the followers will get get lost while spectators are not moving at all. But, you my brother, you know what you want and will move through the followers and travel over and beyond the spectators and you will have what you want and live the experience. Respects and Cheers to being crazy af! from new mexico! "all caught in a mosh" because every chance i get, I am "acting like a maniac! WHIPLASH!!"

Sú proste supééééér a už sa teším na ich koncert v Budapešti 2018 už sa neviem dočkať
Saw Metallica twice Arco Arena cheap seats an front row Cal Expo Garage Days blew my mind both times.
Love Metallica like crazy! 👍😀
I love all METALLICA MUSIC!! rock on!!
HEY YOU TUBE!!! QUIT INTERUPTING FOOTAGE AND MY PLEASURE ASKING AM I STILL WATCHING ,POLITE REQUEST,POLITE HAS LEFT THE BUILDING
to all young metallica fans....
try "paradise lost" if you havent found them yet,..
they add another dimension to the metallica flavour,...
(respectfuly...i might add)
For Whom The Bell Tolls!
The thing is you have to include the entire albums "Kill em all", "Ride the lightning" , "Master of puppets", "And justice for all" Every song. After that you can pick and choose tracks off the rest...If you really want!
1. Master of Puppets
2. One
everything else is debatable but you have to admit those are their two best songs, even if they're not necessarily your favorite
Fade to black.
Javier Piñón Fade to Black and youve defined Metallica
+streted and also Orion my friend, Orion
The Outlaw Torn
The solo in ride the lightning is their best in my opinion though.
METALLICA FOR EVER
I was really surprised to see young people (gen x, etc) who enjoy this old music. This is good.

Metallica is in my city TONIGHT!!! I've never heard their music before. What is their best song? Are all the original members still playing?!
well theyve had 10 studio albums, so picking one best song is definitely not easy. although 2 of their most known songs are probably "Enter Sandman" and "Master of Puppets".
Dene Nation rocks with you. #1
I know a lot of people don't like going to load for this, and I get it, some even Black Album, but by sound alone, this is how I think it should be, possibly switch a few numbers slightly.
one of the greatest rock albums ever.
way to go Metallica!!
but this isnt an official album :I
I remember going to the Music For Nations head office in London to buy Master Of Puppets on the day of it's release in the UK.
@Jay-Vee
That's why i love you brother!
there are those that wait, there are many who follow along and there those that just watch what others do...
most of them will continue to wait and the followers will get get lost while spectators are not moving at all.
But, you my brother, you know what you want and will move through the followers and travel over and beyond the spectators and you will have what you want and live the experience.
Respects and Cheers to being crazy af!
from new mexico!
