- For this episode of New Wave Global, Rabia Mehmood interviews Mahrang Baloch, a human rights defender and leader of the Baloch Yakjehti (Solidarity) Committee (BYC). Baloch is also recently named one of the 100 most influential leaders of the world by Times magazine. They discuss the rights movement emerging from Balochistan, the impact of state negligence on Baloch youth, and the worsening security situation in the province. Baloch explains why the people of Balochistan have lost faith in successive governments and no longer trust the Pakistani military. She highlights how internet disconnections have exacerbated violations in the region amid ongoing abuses. According to Baloch, the BYC is a peaceful, people-led political movement providing a platform for Baloch subjected to serious violations such as enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and land dispossession. I m from Balochistan recently I been interior Balochistan I couldn't believe to see how much love and respect for Dr Mahrang Baloch her pictures in small shops on cars in homes. What she is saying about bad mobile network firewall honestly it's an adding hate against state. wrong forcefully imposing more rules on normal people it's clearly showing more hates towards state. The way forces badly treating baloch people in & out of Balochistan just distancing from state people saying it's Punjabi army not Pakistani army
Punjabi army committed a genocide in Bangladesh and raped women in 1971.
Pain and anger of the community is reflected on the words and expression of Dr Baloch.
If not treated kindly and patiently, it will create another Bangladesh.

Mahrang Baloach and Manjoor Pashteen are only two leaders in Pakistan which are backed by common public. Therefore she should be made PM and Manzoor Pashteen as Interior Minister. For atleast 5 years and they should select 15 ministers as per their choice. Military should be given time to shun all non military activities and business in two years. After 5 years democratic elections should be done.

The country was created for hegemonic interests in south Asia and central Eurasia and these were served faithfully for almost half a century against the Soviets and the Afghans. The military needs to be in power in an unnatural, unhistorical country that can suddenly be ordered to gear up to the perceived interests of its architects. Baluchistan (almost half the land area of the country and just 15 million people) therefore, is in an impossible situation with its only plausible option being opting out.

"Freedom of expression." This human right could be taken for granted in Europe and America. This absence of freedom in a miliary state within a state results in rebellion. It's a rebellion against tyranny---the tyranny of the military state. Bengal rebelled after watching the blatant disregard for their rights. In election, the army rule simply bypassed the verdict. Army generals resorted to force to subdue the population. They never had the foresight to look for political settlement. To this day, the military state lacks the wisdom. It has failed to learn from history. Stupidity and ignorance remain the hallmark of this Jihadi state. People of Baluchistan had enough.
Mahrang is a brave and great leader. I salute her, however I don't believe that state atrocities slow down with peaceful protest, you have to show more violence than the state. And struggle with might and arms.
