Donkey and Diddy Kong appear to have been kidnapped, so now it's up to that daring damsel of adventure, Dixie Kong, to find the missing monkeys. But this is no solo expedition; her cousin, the titanic toddler Kiddy Kong, is here to help her kick some Kremlin butts.
This is the first entry of the 105% category of this game. By using a password to remove the 'DK' barrels, the game officially enters hard mode, and the maximum percent completion is obtained. For more Kong action, you can also view the pure speedrun ( tasvideos.org/1822M ) that doesn't collect all items.

I really love the sound design in this game. When the cannons are shot, its SO satisfying. Everything in the game makes a perfect sound. Underrated soundtrack too. this was a great watch. awesome video!

i think i just vomited in my mouth a little . the sound effects for dkc3 are good yes but and there is a big but here haha. the music is just terrible compared to dkc1 and 2...

@@roastytoasty8559 When not comparing it to David Wise's soundtracks it's a great soundtrack in its own right and Eveline Novakovic is a great composer and such a shame she retired from the video game industry lost out on so many soundtracks.

Now, without any bull... By pure accident, got the secret island to appear. Just by sailing around the stones for the heck of it. What a cool surprise it was.

Yeah, there are a few of these gems that were released near the end of the SNES' life cycle, and they were really quite amazing.
DKC3, Final Fight 3, Lufia 2, Harvest Moon, SimCity 2000, Super Mario RPG, just to name a few...
it's like the reverse of Gen 9 pokemon where it is lag free and well made but gen 9 is like a 1980s computer trying to run modern games.

Game freak are not great at graphic desing, and yes, Gen 9 is ful of lag, and i'm still suprised how i finished Pokémon Scarlet
I can remember the commercials showing clips of this game on tv when I was a kid, and my friend down the street got the game for a present on his snes and we played the absolute hell out of it. it was awesome.
Knautilus, a submarine so badass it turns the water in the middle of Krematoa lake into blood.

I love watching playthroughs/speedruns of this game for when I get burnt out on watching DKC and DKC2. This one was the last one I discovered and some levels feel so bright and fresh!

There aren't really any "TAS World Records". It is its own thing, not to compete against any real time achievements. There was no 105% TAS prior to us making this, so we didn't smash any run at all anyway. There are however many things that can be improved in this TAS, it's just very tedious to improve it..

Very overlooked. DKC2 might be more popular, but you can't deny that DKC3 improves in quite a lot of areas, even though its music is not quite as epic.

Agreed. My parents (who introduced me to the world of video games) owned both DKC1 and DKC3, and back in the day I played the hell out of both games. Somehow I always find myself replaying the whole trilogy at least once a year.

dkc3 was my favorite of the series growing up! I always wanted more games with female leads, so this one instantly grabbed my attention.
I know it's a TAS, but every single Grab X Bananas bonus stage made me die a little bit inside
Those bonuses were such a hassle, I still flash back to childhood frustration at the one that requires the tiny bird above your head eluding me so much as a kid.

Eu já zerei esse jogo completando esses 105% (no emulador), mas na época eu mal entendia inglês, então eu tinha que me virar traduzindo o jogo e tentando entender todos os "enigmas"... Então cada vez que eu descobria algo novo, como o item certo a dar pro urso, ou liberar a ilha secreta, era muita emoção
Wait a second. How'd he get Dixie back at 52:34? Kiddy finished the last level alone.
The code "TUFST" inserted at the very beginning of the game removes all checkpoint barrels as well as practically every single DK barrel. As compensation, you'll always start each level with both Kongs (regardless of what happened in the previous stage) otherwise there would be no way to get the other one back.

This game is way better than its predecessor, the only thing it lacks is decent soundtrack (DKC and DKC2 had kick ass themes for the bosses and some levels) and a better protagonist, had Rare kept Diddy and Trixie as a team then the game would have been way different.
Lol It is so fast we can't even enjoy the full soundtracks of some levels
Unpopular opinion; DKC3 was just as good as DKC2. In fact, I kinda even like it more, cause it wasn't so grim mooded.

I believe macros were used throughout the speedrun, including in areas where the player can continue to progress on side scroll levels. You can do this yourself but you'll need to memorize how far to go, where to jump, how many steps, etc...

When you play on the hardest mode to get 105% there aren’t any buddy barrels to get your bud back. So instead if you lose someone during a level you get them back at the map screen.
Kiddy could always skip on water - but getting both kongs back at the start of the level is part of the mod used for this TAS I think.

Así funciona el modo tuffer.Si pierdes a un kong, aparecerá nuevamente contigo cuando pases el nivel o mueras.
El codigo que mete al principio es para obtener el 105%, lo que hace es eliminar los barriles de guardar el juego a la mitad y rescatar a un compañero, en vez de eso, cada vez que comiences un nivel siempre aparecerán los dos

@@robertorges1338 When you use the TUFST cheat code for harder difficulty, all of the midway barrels are gone and most of the DK barrels. Another effect of this is that you always start every level with both Kongs.
It happens the first time after the second level.
There is nothing fake about this TAS, it all consists of a single line of inputs, never interupted and no cheat codes activated.
