I remember playing DKC2 and DKC3 on the snes in my childhood and DK2 being my most favourite never gets dull or boring, i have played this over and over again. I love all the enemies in the game, my favourite is those ghostly green coat monsters who have red glowing eyes and throws wooden boxes at you. And those hook guys look pretty cool. And OMG the music in this game is amazing. My favourite music from this game must be that Forest Interlude and the level Web Woods with that misty mysterious fog, such a mysterious cozy beautiful level. The game still holds up today and have aged really well. Probably my most favourite video games ever.
This game came out the year I graduated high school. Sadly, I never got a chance to experience it because at the time, my family had games for the computer (Cyberia 2, Robin Hood: Conquests of the Longbow, Heart of China, The Return to Zork and Quest For Glory 1 and 3) and I was more into those. This DOES look like fun though. Thanks for the upload.

Players aren't supposed to find it, but at that time (80's/90's), they used to put this kind of thing in game magazines and today we have the internet for it =).
It's a secret built in by the developers. It's only triggered when you follow these exact steps. You could only know about that if you read about it in some magazine back then. But once you know about it, it's not hard to pull off anymore and you'll get 75 Kremkoins at once.

The hard mode cheat was used. It removes all DK barrels, but you get your partner back at the start of every level and after the bonus rounds. I know the comment is a year old, but I hope it still helps.

Towards the percentage, the trick gives me nothing and since I want to achieve 102% of the game, I still have to collet all 75 Kremkoins the way it's meant to be collected. No advantage on Klubba, also not a single percent of the game given, so why use the trick then? The answer is a chat with Cranky at the end of the first K. Rool fight, it's too long and it can't be skipped, the trick made it possible to leave it outside the run.
