Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island is a vibrant, colorful and fun game that stars the popular Yoshi. From a technical standpoint, the game is very exceptional on the SNES due to its use of the SuperFX² coprocessor. The chip allows for many cool special effects that are otherwise impossible on the SNES.
This is a 100% completion of the game. It plays through all the levels and collects every item that contributes to end-of-level score: 5 flowers, 20 red coins, and 30 stars. By getting 100% completion in each stage, six extra stages are also unlocked. These are played at the end of the run, again with 100% scores.
The authors of the run have spent over three years working on this run, showing off plenty of egg juggling, precise shots, and other incredible antics. This run does not use certain glitches present in the other runs of the game (an and a ), but there should still be plenty to surprise you. Reading the is recommended.
--------
Note: The many graphical issues are a result of inaccurate emulation.
Me: [already knows well in advance that this is going to be a 100% perfect run]
Also me: Watch out you’re gonna miss the flower! D:
dont underestimate yourself. if you dont say that, maybe the tas would miss the flower. you are a lot more helpful than you think.

@@PASRC aww thats a really nice comment :D
@@PASRC This has such nice, feel-good energy, I love it.
This is actual art.
The game, or the TAS? Or both...?
@@cannon9009 Both
Literally an incomprehensible amount of swag in this run
both are masterpieces
Thank you!
I don't know if I will ever get tired of watching yoshi tongue juggle eggs.
I don’t know if I will ever get tired of this game making people say things like “tongue juggling eggs”
Yoshi can tongue juggle my eggs any time
Maybe not, you can watch as yoshi lays more than 99 times those eggs. 😅

I always appreciate the extra effort that creators put into making auto scroll levels entertaining! Thanks!
What are you talking about? Nintendo did the auto scroll in their Mario games. And who are you thanking? The video or the creators of the game?
It's because they don't have anything to do either
@@THEREALspypasta bro what are you on about did you watch the video? The auto scroll level has a bunch of swag and obviously the person commenting is thanking the people who made the tas/video lol
Yep, I absolutely love how they are juggling with 10+ eggs in 5-6
@@toulouse4209 exaggerated swagger of a black yoshi
This is the best TAS ever made. Some of the glitch comedy ones are more funny, but this is the best one to watch that resembles normal gameplay.

@@DireBowserno
you never really realize how insane TAS runs are until you watch a TAS run of a game you played all the way through
This huge 33 stars at 2-4 ?
This game is always fun to watch on 100% TAS. All the insane movements and egg throws.
@Cat_Black_OFICIAL oh yeah, I'm very aware of that one nowadays lol what a sad sack.
Man to think these graphics were on a 30 year old console.
That's the advantage of not trying to look realistic. Graphics can still hold up and it is harder for them to get outdated.
Well... Yes and no. With the help of the Super FX chip it's possible. Stock form, it's not
@@snakeywakey3893 Yes they do get outdated
Being the end of the 2D era helped those games age well too. There are so many gorgeous late SNES, Genesis games out there.
It can be hard to believe, it just looks so beautiful!! And the music is great too!
All the micromanaging makes this one of the best TASes I've seen.
One of the best TASes ever made
Have 40 stars ?
Thank you!
Hey Carl. Don't know if you'll ever read this but I just wanna say I appreciate what you and all of the YI community has done to keep this game alive. 1:18:33 The real juggling begins.
I always love when tas players have free time to just let loose with shenanigans
I watched this instead of drinking coffee this morning. Worked just as well
2 hours of pure fun and one of the greatest TAS runs ever!
Have 103 points ?
Wow.. many years worth of effort in this run does indeed show the pure commitment to entertainment. Kudos to everyone involved, what fantastic job!
The fact one of the runners is named "Carl Sagan" is extremely fitting, because it looks like it took a freakin' scientist to make this TAS. It's been years and I'm still amazed by it, wonderful work from everyone involved.
The near death stunts TASes make during autoscrollers is the closest thing I can get to a heart attack.
Have 105 points ?
It's so entertaining watching a TAS for this, I love Yoshi's Island!
1:13:45 the ghost's expression says everything
The skills to complete this game at 100% this is truly a work of ART !
Nostalgia (One of my first and still one of my favorites)
I recall this introducing me to 5-4 Skip (Which is crazy for a human method)
Great run fam! You guys put your soul in this classic game.... Stay up my g's...
Used to play this game all day and night back in the day. Still do occasionally in emulator though.
I love how whenever there is an autoscroller in a TAS, the makers get to go “let’s see JUST how hard we can screw around” and it’s always fun
So much swag in one little package.
I played this game to death back then, it's one of my favorites, and yet, I'm still surprised by some of the TAS run shenanigans, like jumping while using a warp pipe, or that the Yoshi at the end level goal can pick up eggs laying around... or falling after beating Salvo... will continue watching later but I'm only 20 minutes in right now, and I'm already mind blown, hahaha
saw this back in 2013 or so, one of the first TAS I ever saw
Its really cool you guys are re-releasing updated torrents with these new encodes too. My internet can't handle streaming ultra HD.
Eres el mejor jugador de Speedrun que jamás había visto en estos años y meses de sin parar unos momentos. 🎉🎉🎉
No is speedrun.
Perdón, quise decir TAS.
This should be called a swagxhibition run, the level of the egg throws are over 9000!
It is really amazing! The best TAS of this game for sure!
Pipes: did you enter me?
Yoshi: well no but actually yes
True
imo one of the best 2D games Nintendo has ever made in terms of level design.
Dk country 3 is up there
It is! It really deserves more attention
49:41 Ó_Ó OH, MY!
14:36
Bye~ Have a good time!
Is this a re-upload? Could've sworn I've seen it before.
Either way, Yoshi's Island needs more attention. Severely underrated game, and this TAS is a masterpiece.
I didnt notice it was posted 2 days ago til I read this. According to the description, it goes as far back as 2013 so yeah, must be
First published in 2013 but has been republished with several optimizations since then.
I couldnt agree more about it being surprisingly underrated for the amazing experience it gave me, I like it even more than Super Mario World in fact! The graphics, music and story are beautiful! I've been trying to pay more attention to it on my channel lately to give it more of the attention it deserves, and have been telling my friends how good it is! I also got my cousin to play it all the way to defeating Bowser and he enjoyed it too!
@@Lizuma not sure about underrated, I’d call it more under appreciated than anything else. It’s highly beloved among most people who’ve played it.
THANK YOU

Didnt know i was that good!
59:10 eats star with legs whole and raw
I don´t think words can describe what here just happend. If i would have played this game like this, they could bring me straight into a psychiatric hospital right afterwards. The mind torture what had to been involved in this. My utmost respect. Bravo. You were definitly blessed while playing this.
1:36:10 You thought we wouldn't notice but we did! Awesome sound combination detail throughout the level xD
there's no way you wouldn't notice unless you had the sound off or were naturally deaf lol
I still think this is the best 2d platformer of all time
you have Great chemistry with this game I love it
The juggling of the shy guy, flower lady and a couple eggs, holy crap
Wow... As far as SNES games are concerned, this game right here (and Super Mario RPG) absolutely had the most powerful effect on my imagination when I was a kid. For the N64 it was Diddy Kong Racing and for the GCN it was Sonic Adventure 2. After that, I was old enough that games didn't really affect changes in my personality or mental outlook on life but Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii came damn close to doing it anyways lol
1:49:05 look at yoshi
Yoshi: yuck he taste bad
That is sus
i had always hated the "Very 1Looooooong Cave" level, but after seeing this and Yoshi jumping to the beat of the music and everything else they did, i love it now
I'd like to imagine just one Yoshi doing all of this and Kamek just watching him go through all of the defenses not only super quickly but in sometimes glitchy ways. Just teleporting around, juggling eggs, doing all of the TAS stuff.
Kamek should be shaking in fear.
Gosh I loved this game as a kid. My fondest memories was spitting out the watermelon seeds and of course you skipped everyone 😂
I like how the tas turns the one way gates into a suggestion
So this is where speedrunner mario learned the ways of going to multiple parallel universes
The magic of Tas 🤣
Yes, emulators does the trick in one piece. 😅
Your egg juggling skills are insane! I can’t even juggle one.
I want to try juggling one but probably wont do well
I love it when you sync in the music while playing
It's so unlucky they didn't get the bonus game once :(
That's deliberate. For the same reason TAS and real life speed runners of smb3 deliberately misalign all three cards so it gives a 1up
This TAS guy is really good. I wonder does he play many other games.
So I think, "Maybe the TAS will remind me of some of the flowers I am missing"
I blinked and missed them.
I love it when the tas egg juggles it's so cool
Game's so good that an astrophysicist came back from the dead to help tas it
This game was the SHOOT back in the day. I used to play this, DK Country, and Street Fighter 2 for hours when I had the SNES. Then a whole new world opened up with the N64 and PS1.
This is one of the most underrated games Nintendo ever made
No offense but this graphics are in some case better than new genetion console's game.
tru
The tech computing this is even more awesome in itself
It’s all in the art style. Companies need to bring back the cute cartoony artwork and sprites because that shit never gets old
Offence not detected.
I love how beautiful Yoshi's Island looks
1:49:24 How you follow the music with your movements is so funny 😀
I never knew @5:55 Burt was bashful and Kamek put a spell on him to raise his self-esteem. You can see this spell take effect by watching Burt pull up his pants in confidence only to slowly lose it by watching his pants completely fall off which results in his embarrassment of being pantless.
Came for Loooong Cave. Was not disappointed 🔥
Imagine bieng baby mario, having a limited understanding of your sorroundings because your brain is not fully developed, trying to understand what the fuck is going on
01:09:11 is a treasure
This is so satisfying to watch 🤩
this guy's pretty good
you know, what is ridiculous? 1/3 of this speedrun is animations between the levels...
TAS make that Pizza Delivery Jump automatically it never lands on Bonus Game Flowers
Game: has an auto scroll level
TASbot: "now watch me perform the dance of my people"
I have no words...
Just amazing...
I didn't know yoshi could wall kick
my thoughts exactly. Some crazy glitch jumping in this one
Yoshi must’ve been on some crack
This is how I learned about the Naval Piranha skip a year ago, I was pretty surprised and tried it! Later I reach that boss in Yoshi's Wooly World and the first thing I do is hit the Piranha Plant and discover the reference to Yoshi's Island
Yoshiii🥰🥰
What a TAS! Nice game!
Gotta appreciate the musical jumping in the Very Long Cave
Kamek: Caffeinated dinosaurs arent real Your Brattiness, they cant hurt you.
Caffeinated dinosaurs:
The best part of speedruns is popping off when they mess up the goal ring manip and get a bonus game. This... this is constant popping
The castle music always reminded me of the Dark World music in Link to the Past.
7:40 the poor Shy Guy lol
0:00: HER FACE~ (and kimono, too~)
1:15: ...and already, by this point, we've come to the reason I even watch videos on this channel. Yoshi acts like he touched quite a few Fuzzies! D:
2:25: First appearance of my favorite background in the game.
World 1-4: I just want to know how the TAS'ers are able to go to the next room without actually going down the pipe.
World 1-5: Is Yoshi actually slurping in time to the music? xD
Raphael the Raven predicted the Super Mario Galaxy games! :D
1:36:15: Songs of the Yoshi, now available for only three easy payments of $49.95! ^^
I think what happened with the pipe was to cut off the entering pipe animation to go faster
24:34 Yoshi has been training with Samus and Megaman X I see
Doin it and doin it and doin it well
I’ve beaten the game 100% several times overall the years (even that 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 stage Kamek’s Revenge), but this…. 🤯
How did I beat this game when I was 9. Still boggles me. I'm 33. I bet this would challenge me today.
Well played there. I preferred to play Yoshi's Story on the N64 but I liked how you showed the bosses who is the real boss in the game. Well done!
I love when they make music in the meantime on autoscrolling
9:56 WEY BECAUSE YOSHI STUCKS ON THE FLOOR XD
I wish the game Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 had a reskin where all characters have their sprites ported directly from Yoshi's Island DS, including all Yoshi colors (with their shoes even having the same color-scheme as in YIDS, and Black & White Yoshies taking over the Secret & Extra Levels this time around), all enemy sprites (with Magenta Shy Guys replaced by Blue Shy Guys, similar to how Super Mario Bros. 2 used to have Pink Shy Guys but became Blue in SMB2's enhanced remakes, and like Yoshi: Give each Shy Guy palette the same shoes they wore in-game of YIDS), and many more sprites appearing in both installments of Yoshi's Island to be increased in-quality! I wish a SMA3 port with YIDS sprites existed.
I'd also prefer for their music to choose the SNES versions, since their SNES soundfont quality is better than their GBA counterparts.
And before you say "Then what about Yoshi's New Island?", well I do like the artstyle of that 3DS game, but to me it honestly looks too weird/bizarre/casual to be considered better enough for Yoshi's Island GBA having a higher-quality port, so that's why I prefer choosing the DS version of graphics/artsyle and/or engine.
I rest my case now!
Nah, Yoshi’s DS sprites don’t mesh as well with the snes backgrounds. It would be very apparent that the sprite was lifted from a separate game.
@@callinater6133 I mean, I still prefer higher qualities. Maybe they would have to slightly redesign the background too though, that's for sure.
1:35:24 shit…. Probably the most swaggiest part of the video 😮💨
Con esto se comprueba que el ser humano es capas de hacer cosas increibles si se lo propone
