This is the best Donkey Kong Country longplay on RUclips. I really wish all longplayers put as much effort in making thorough, high-quality videos like this.
I only casually played this game as a kid, it wasn't a huge part of my childhood, but for some reason I keep coming back to it as an adult. It means more to me now than it did then.
The art of this video game is amazing, everything is pixelated art but the lights, the environments seem 3D. In addition to the music that makes a very good combination. I follow it and I will continue playing it, I love it, and now more than because I never got to have 99 lives XD
I remember playing this game day and night. Sooooo fun. I remember i got stuck with Bee Boss. I couldn't sleep for days, and didn't know how to beat such boss. One day i woke up around 1am, locked my door, and started playing this level with volume down. I did it, i beat that bitch. Then i went to sleep LOL.
one of the most mystifying feelings ive had recently was having that music play really low on my phone as i was trying to sleep and the window was slightly open so it kinda sounded like the music was coming from outside
I thought that, as a Moroccan, I was the only one who feels nostalgic for these beautiful periods that I went through in my childhood, but the American people also share the same feeling with us, frankly I want to cry here, I watch this game especially the music, I don’t know why maybe because life no longer has a taste, greetings To you from Morocco.
Hey, I agree, we live in such a strange world, I felt it way too often, that the world lost a bit of taste, but keep the hope, sometimes you need to find a way to bring back the taste to life, like Ann Frank had said: Think of all the beauty around you, and be happy :-)

The 90s were the golden age of gaming. Everything great about gaming today was laid out and perfected during the 90s. Though a lot of the stupendous 2D games (like this one) tend to get overshadowed by the incredible 3D games such as Super Mario 64 or Ocarina of Time. But despite the fact that 3D games encompass nearly every game today, 2D games still have their place. It’s like the theme of a game that is centered around guns. No matter how much it may be, there is always room for some kind of blade.
Ah, what a classic. A gaming god, too, finding all the hidden areas, and completing all the levels without dying. By the time you broke the maximum counter, I tallied how many more extra lives you obtained: 84.

As someone who was born in 2004, that sounds like a time to be alive. I sometimes wish it were to be like as how you described now in current days. Simplistic and very fun. Nowadays, it's all about social media. It's a hassle and very unfortunate.

This was the game that made the SNES to finally prevail over the Genesis and remain popular well into the PS1/N64 era. Quite possibly one of the greatest SNES games of all-time and easily in my personal top 10. The graphics, gameplay, music, etc. was well-made! I'm glad to say that I own this game on the Original SNES and the SNES Mini (built-in), because it is just that good!
Dude, that game was released in november 1994. Also in november 1994, the SEGA Saturn was released, SEGA's 2nd CD-based console, and after the 32-Bit-addon 32x it was SEGA's first real 32-Bit-console. .... Be honest: SEGA was on the next level already. The N64 didnt see the world before 1996 and couldnt keep up with Saturn and Playstation, it looks terrible ist most cases. When in 1998 SEGA's Dreamcast was released, the N64-games looked absolutely outdated, the Dreamcast had PC-standards at that time. I remember playing the N64 when it was brandnew and I couldnt believe how bad it was, although it was just released. Donkey Kong looked good, yes, but very late. And the SEGA Genesis did wipe the floor with the SNES with its CD-addon already, I just say "Final Fight CD".
Brings back so many great memories from my childhood. Imagine beating this game with all of the secrets too without a strategy guide or the internet? That was me in my pre-teens. The music still holds up too.
Donkey Kong Country fue el primer videojuego con graficos 3D de la historia. fue revolucionario. Este videojuego cambio la historia, marco un antes y un despues en la historia de los videojuegos.

@LITTLE: Actually according to the instruction-manual of this videogame the "Donkey Kong" that fought Mario in the "Donkey Kong" videogame-arcade game was "Cranky Kong" in this game; ie. Donkey Kong senior. The "Donkey Kong" that is the main[/titular] character of this videogame is Donkey Kong junior, his biological son. In the videogame "Donkey Kong Country 2" you get to meet Wrinkly Kong, who is his mom and Donkey Kong senior's (ie. "Cranky Kong" 's) wife.

As a child I remember seeing DKC on display at Costco, then Price Club, a few months after its release. The graphics were like nothing I'd ever seen before at the time. Nowadays nothing graphics-wise impresses me quite like that did.
My favorite game and video game soundtrack ever. Sometimes I would just come here just to smile for a bit. There's something magical about this game, is inexplicable.
I scrolled through the comments section, and it's so amazing seeing so many people speaking so many different languages with the same nostalgia for this game💚
Slipslide Ride is so pretty and well designed in my opinion(yes I like all the designs for maps but the music was pretty relaxing as well with the course)
I remember me and my brother and me and my cousins playing this for hours and hours such a good game. Games now days just don't have that special feeling like this game and Super Mario brothers and 007 GoldenEye for N64 especially multiplayer has..
I remember there's a cheat for the "Mine Cart Carnage" level. The gameplay make it look easy (like all gameplays do) but that level was very hard. I FOUND THIS CHEAT ON MY OWN. Here you go: at 14:11 you have to jump over the cannon barrel into the left side of the cliff, there's another cannon barrel (invisible) down there that will take up, you will go down into a cart and continue from the part at 15:34, just jump over the incoming enemy cart and you're done. You can actually complete that level very easily in less than 20 seconds. 👍

I have a story to tell that's both tragic and a little weird involving my Donkey Kong Country cartridge. I played the hell out of this game when I was a kid on my SNES back in the day and I loved it. one day I was alone, sitting on my parents' bed just looking at the cartridge admiring the label art or whatever. Idr exactly what happened next but somehow it fell down the part of the bed where you put the pillows. I looked all over the bed to find the game but it was gone. Like just vanished into thin air lol. I tried to find it one last time before we moved out of that house but it never popped up again. Still love this game though.
26:45 that's my favorite level. Because I always wanted to live in a forest. Stay in a hut, like those high ones. I imagine living with friends in one of those huts. Singing songs, swim in the lake, eat plants and bears. That must be a fun life! Getting married, and raising my kids there. Awesome life! :)

I've had a craving to revisit this game, so this playthrough was a fantastic way to indulge my nostalgia :) The DKC games were fantastic and a huge part of my childhood, it was great to watch you play through it
Back when it was a simpler time glad I have memories of this
Una auténtica obra maestra de los videojuegos. La banda sonora es magistral. Uno de los mejores juegos que he jugado en mi vida, de largo.
This is the best Donkey Kong Country longplay on RUclips. I really wish all longplayers put as much effort in making thorough, high-quality videos like this.
Thanks a lot for the kind words! :D I'm glad you liked it.
I agree Crymoar.
Oh yes the 90s was a great decade to grow up in
I only casually played this game as a kid, it wasn't a huge part of my childhood, but for some reason I keep coming back to it as an adult.

Fav story of the day?
Somehow i still get this desolated feeling when listening to the music in the water levels after all the years.
Yeah, it kinda feels a wee bit depressing.
one of the most mystifying feelings ive had recently was having that music play really low on my phone as i was trying to sleep and the window was slightly open so it kinda sounded like the music was coming from outside
You should hear the Mangrove Cove Underwater version.
Listen to the save room of resident evil one ! Thats where my sweet spot is (nearly the same tune). Fingernail pulling stuff.. or the soulblade intro.
One of my favorite games from my childhood. Brings back good memories.
I'm only 13 and I got to grow up on original mario and donkey Kong on snes and a ps2 my life then was so much better then today and now I realise those moments are now.. gone and I just wanna go back and live life over and over again playing that same dk game everyday and no worries of school or anything just a great dad I love you dad and always will just promise me one thing tho that you'll never stop believing in yourself and and trying everyday I know it may be hard but just please do... @Mehdi Boumour the best level for me is coral capers (swimming), especially the music that reminds me the childhood, big hello to you
This game was years ahead of its time an absolute classic would be great to see it remastered loved it
No remastering, just as it was... In 4:3, same wonderful audio and clay-like graphics. I own a SNES (Super Famicon) so I'm chasing down DKC2 and 3. I can get them for ≈ 35$ USD a piece.
Have you not seen donkey Kong country returns or tropical freeze?
I wish they had saved all the original renders that the game's visuals were made from, would be really cool to play a version of the games that just used all the original renders uncompressed.
@Crocodiles United Owner Roblox crocodiles is angry donkey kong country two is hard now ok guys meets happy this is game single now finally donkey kong got banana!
I love this game so much, so many memories! Although 2 is my favorite this one will always have a place in my heart.
Returns is my fave, then 2, then a tie between this and 3 (tropical freeze dosen’t count). however, i love them all a lot (except tropical freeze).
Thank you for replaying my child hood. Nothing like the jump combos, mid air adjustments and “not even remotely based in reality” physics.
Love it.
Ah, what a classic. A gaming god, too, finding all the hidden areas, and completing all the levels without dying. By the time you broke the maximum counter, I tallied how many more extra lives you obtained: 84.
Que nostalgia recordar la musica, los graficos, los mapas, los sonidos, todo de este juego.
Good walkthrough! My wife and I just bought a Super Nintendo recently and bought DK. Memories! Awesome memories!🤗
Donkey Kong Country is a timeless gem.
😮
不要因为你太好所以会喜欢他
Man I remember 1995 being in the 5th grade, inviting over my friend who lived 3 houses over if hes want to play some Donkey Kong. No smartphones, social media just hanging out with childhood friends that lived in your neighborhood. It was a great time to be a kid

@@MrZillas and yet nintendo still out sold sega with ever single one of those consoles you mentioned.
El mejor momento de mi vida la pasaba jugando este juego
Brings back so many great memories from my childhood. Imagine beating this game with all of the secrets too without a strategy guide or the internet? That was me in my pre-teens. The music still holds up too.
please never delete this, so many good memories.
Donkey Kong Country fue el primer videojuego con graficos 3D de la historia. fue revolucionario. Este videojuego cambio la historia, marco un antes y un despues en la historia de los videojuegos.
Good times, Good memories !! A masterpiece of a game !!
that was skillful. Almsot like a speedrun. Such quick movement and not even dying. Truly that Herd of Golden banas wa swell earned.
There is a part of me that is enjoying watching how easy this game seems. Then there is the rest of me remembering playing this as a kid and is equal parts impressed & depressed at how easy you make this seem ^_^ You're awesome! Enjoying every playthrough you've posted!
The music is FANTASTIC! That drumbeat, I can’t get enough of it. And this from a 26 year old game. 😮
One of the few games that never gets old! Great music, graphics, and gameplay! I always get back into it!
It’s so amazing to see how all of our lives have been touched so deeply from this game. At the time I was just playing something because I was a kid but the memories that I have are priceless.
damn the originality of the graphics, incredible..
Its really impressive
The graphics along with the music was the best part with Donkey kong country. The background view in each level alone is an incredible work of art. The beauty of the deep djungle, the sandy ocean sea floors, the cold shimmering crystal icy caverns. The music is stunning and perfectly balanced. Quiet and moody at times to let the feelings grasp, still paced enough to enhance your adrenaline rushes. The music alone can remind you why this game holds a special place in your heart, Donkey kong is yours and our's unforgettable childhood memories.
@@SunriseFestival indeedd
@@SunriseFestival Yes, i agree
The game that reformed the once-nemesis of Mario, Donkey Kong. I still own the original cartridge, and it sure is a revolutionary and fun game.
@LITTLE:
Actually according to the instruction-manual of this videogame the "Donkey Kong" that fought Mario in the "Donkey Kong" videogame-arcade game was "Cranky Kong" in this game; ie.
Ahh my childhood. I remember playing this game as a kid with my mom and my brother back in the day. I think this was one of our favorite games to play. Good times that sadly don’t happen anymore.
Awesome video by the way. You played and beat this game like a pro in my opinion.

I work in media production, tv and video. I’m finishing up college. Any advice for finding a job where I can work from home?
Part 2 was hard for me even most people say it's their favorite of theirs.
@@Thespeedrap DKC II is one of the most challenging side scrollers of the era; perhaps THE most challenging. To this day I still get stuck on certain levels - a testament to the game's enduring greatness and lasting legacy.
@@HomeStudioBasics I agree I remember my cousin and I we had a hard time playing the lava segment which is suck that's why I stopped playing it and weht with 3 and back to 1 again.
Those backgrounds are simply gorgeous.
This brought a smile to my face. I remember so clearly playing this with my brothers and dad
So much nostalgia with this game, I remember playing this at an older friend's house as a little kid and watching Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
Allllll righty then
This game was revolutionary back then. By far the most technically astonishing 16bit game ever to be released.
Even almost 30 years later I will always love you DKC ❤️
my mind is completely blown! you did amazing! I saw in the description that you did die a bunch but you were cruisin thru it still!
As a child I remember seeing DKC on display at Costco, then Price Club, a few months after its release. The graphics were like nothing I'd ever seen before at the time. Nowadays nothing graphics-wise impresses me quite like that did.
This video made me cry. I play hundreds of hour on this game in the 90s....
Wow, what a time capsule, nostalgia bomb. I remember playing this as a 6 year old boy and loving it so much.
Ah, my childhood... I loved this game so much. My favorite levels are usually the ice worlds.

DKCR gave me the same feeling and at least in my eyes Retro studios made the game magic again
You can thank Sega for Golden Eye. The developers wanted to make a Virtua Cop clone but ended up making a limited, no jumping, FPS.
Este es uno de los mejores juegos de la historia, sin duda.
Oh mi niñez!! Como lo extraño. Podía pasar horas jugándolo y no me aburría😭💛

God bless you for the high quality.
Thank you so much for uploading my childhood all in one video! Brings back so many memories! :')
Childhood alllll over again lol, I actually just finished a playthrough on this bad boy and trust me it was FREAKIN tough! Im going to play the sequal on my channel soon if you're interested in coming over mate
Ah, it's refreshing to be able to watch a playthrough where we can immerse in the full visual and audio experience of the game. Too many channels make the mistake of thinking we want to see their blank expression and chat spam taking up half the screen as they drone a monotonous commentary on.
I hate commentary.
Excuse me and Forgive me but are you on drugs or Something??? Because i say that the life could be too hard in the forest
That yould be cool but mosquitoes are annoying
maybe you should live in san diego where you get the beach, the snow and the factories
"eat plants and BEARS"???
