The Lion King game had very good graphics and was insanely hard. I'm pretty sure that I can't beat it even nowadays. I remember passing all the day after school trying to pass the third level.
Donkey Kong Country blew my mind back when it came out, and it still looks amazing even today! It was almost hard to believe the SNES was a 16 bit console sometimes!
Every time I play this or Final Fantasy III (VI in Japan), I remember how it felt getting both games for Christmas that year. What a fantastic experience. Both were basically nothing unlike anything I had played at the time, and were the top of the genre. This, and Christmas of 88 (when I got Mario 2, Zelda 2, Bubble Bobble and Castlevania 2 for the NES) rank as my two favorite Christmas memories. Merry Christmas, everyone!
Christmas 1993 few days before Christmas mother gave me and my brother money for a new segaCD game each my brother got bran strockers Dracula and i got Shilpheed games were so popular with family and friends played for so many years not the best Christmas but always talked about
Merry Christmas, NintendoComplete! What a great one to celebrate the holidays with, and great memories to bring up--this game was definitely a big deal and it lived up to the hype. I'll never forget the impact it made and how it felt to watch newscasters talk about this on TV. I dare say this game was one that helped cement video games as something to be taken seriously, back then. And as a kid with a Genesis, it was great we got Vectorman from this!
one of my fav sound designs / music compositions in game, such a variety of sounds that stay with you, and it never got annoying when playing it, sound fx just blended into the music
This game feels and looks so solid. Every hit has an "oomph" to it, and the sound-effects are mesmerizing, not to mention the legendary soundtrack composed by David Wise himself!
That Double Bonus Stage was one of the biggest "It was there all this time?" moments in gaming. You NEVER knew it existed, unless you had the Player's Guide.
Great channel bro. Damn i used to LOVE some DKC. I never had Nintendo so when i got SNES i was so happy. And this was probably my favorite game. The score was so good on this game. Especially in the water levels lol. Thanks for sharing
When Donkey Kong got reformed and set the standard of what came after ever since. My favorite DK game ever. I agree with people saying the second DKC is the best, but the first is the most special, because this was so revolutionary and it is the only title where DK himself is protecting his own home with the help of his nephew Diddy Kong. Still own this game. A masterpiece.
I made a playtrough yesterday, it has aged very well - looks and sounds amazing! The three DKC parts are still some of the best platformers/jump and runs ever made imo!
So glad I subbed, not only are all these games sweet, your good as heck at them, like really good, and pretty smart.. Thanks for the great vids retro love..
A absolute classic that i never got the chance to play. I remember having the VHS of the making of(or something like that). PS : have an excellent holiday too, NC.
I remember not liking this game at first after seeing it in Diehard Gamefan magazine. Not sure why as once I played it I loved it, and then loved the crap out of DKC2 even more. I was one of those kids still playing games like these, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, Super Punch-Out, and Killer Instinct, well after PS1 and probably even N64 came out.
Dang! You got 4 games for Christmas? Anyway I fondly remember this one and the hype for it. It definitely showed the SNES could still hang. I got it for Christmas as well. Played it like crazy.
Donkey Kong Country remastered opening cutscene: In a stormy night, Diddy Kong is seen guarding the banana hoard until something came. Two kritters appeared, Diddy manages to take them down, only to be defeated by a klump, who puts Diddy in a barrel and throws him, the Kremlings then put the bananas in their trucks.
49:41 - I remember I had a lot of difficulty with this part when I was a kid. I hated this part so much and I was ready to give up. And by chance, I discovered the secret barrel underneath that pretty much skips all that boring part. It was such a relief, I couldn't believe it!
@NintendoComplete Should I look forward to you kicking ass on DKC2 and DKC3 someday??? I'd love an up-to-date Longplay of that from someone - whether it's you or someone else - those games are nearly as timeless as this one, after all.
Can someone help me? in this phase of the final boss, in the last part (in the very last part, after the message appears on the screen, at the minute of this video at 1:46: 50) when he starts jumping, I can't dodge. I've seen in some videos the person passing under him when he jumps, but I can't do it at all. I always end up bumping into him and dying. Can someone help me? I've been stuck on this for months.
Snes had the best games for any nintendo console glad i grew up a 90s kid would go back and relive my childhood forever if possible and never grow old im almost 40 and still play these games just bought a super nintendo and i will buy dkc when i get a chance between this and link to the past these are my top 2 games for snes had one as a child never should have sold it and i have a sega genesis as well

I expected this game to have outdated graphics But man it looks good. I never played the originals but I’m eager to try. But for a game like this at the time, it’s pretty impressive.
Donkey-Kong is one of my favourite games 🎮 on the Super-Nintendo and I miss playing this game 🎮 so much. And I wish I could play ▶️ it right now and enjoy.
You made that look so easy lol... I thought that this game, DKC 2 and DKC 3 were the hardest SNES games of the time because they made me so mad back then. Never could complete the games final boss, Broke 5 controllers because of it.
I haven't played this game for a long time. I remember playing this game 🎮 when I was in school primary school. But it was at the play group I played the Super-Nintendo
Memories 😊- I haven’t played this in a while and went to play it last week, after completing level one my game freezes. Basically I can’t get passed level 1 now. Never had this issue before. Does anyone know why this might be?
Can you do the other Donkey Kong Country games (and versions) and the rest of the Donkey Kong Land games as well? And maybe for the Land game do them on both regular Game Boy and Super Game Boy, as i can't find any full walkthroughs using the Super Game Boy.
29:37 I've got to admit I've never seen a bonus room door get opened like that beforeO_O A little bummed out that you opted for the shortcut route on snow barrel blast instead of trying to speed through it for the elusive blue three up balloon=/ One thing I'm curious is in the bonus game where you collect the mini animal buddy tokens for lives why didn't you showcase the huge animal buddy tokens that double the amount of mini animal tokens? Enjoyed every minute of this let's play;) Hopefully maybe you'll do Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3 someday.
1:44:48 Donkey Kong Country YEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWW 1:45:58 YEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW 1:49:50
I love this game just as much as I did when I got it for Christmas 25 years ago. Time flies, eh? Hope you all have an excellent holiday!
NintendoComplete I was really hoping for another Marathon of Home Alone Games in higher quality. Maybe next year. Merry Christmas!
I also got this game Christmas 94' along with Super Mario Kart. Enjoyed playing both of them
I got this game for my 5th birthday.
Any chance that you’ll be doing the rest of them?
Same here, merry christmas for all of you =)
2 hours of my day I'll never get back. Zero regrets - what a time warp... This game was my childhood! Amazing
Free to download
This game and Uniracers were the first two games with PS1 graphics and this was still on a cartridge💯🎮💙🔥
There are few sounds as pleasing as riding Winky and jumping on a Zinger. That pleasing "BIZZ!" as they go falling to their death is such a treat.
Ah the first dkc game, incredible sensations in 1994, and still one of the best platform games of all times
Back then the graphics was mesmerizing

DKC was a masterpiece when it was released and still is today!
That’s the truth. The intro alone is a masterpiece
The soundtrack, the stage music and sounds.. gameplay, the funny thing, secret stuff, it all makes one of the best SNES games ever
This game feels and looks so solid. Every hit has an "oomph" to it, and the sound-effects are mesmerizing, not to mention the legendary soundtrack composed by David Wise himself!
Man that's a solid Christmas list indeed. Illusion of Gaia was a pleasant suprise for Me as a kid, what a melancholic game that was.
One of my all-time favorites, and still worth a play now and then. I marked my strategy guide with dots of white-out for every hidden banana bunch.
That Double Bonus Stage was one of the biggest "It was there all this time?" moments in gaming.
You NEVER knew it existed, unless you had the Player's Guide.

Who knew the SNES was capable of showing pre-rendered graphics. Thank you Aladdin for pushing Rare to making a masterpiece!
DKC is the best game of all time!
We all have our opinions.
Eh. I think this entire series is overrated, personally.
I just love how the Grandpa just breaks the fourth wall repeatedly
@DamnMerasmus I love how that reference the games in the '70s/early '80s were.
This game was amazing always played it when i was a kid thnx for playing it merry Xmas
I love the sound of those Klap Traps. Their pointy and sharp teeth are so perfect for those snaps.
ASMR perfect
Oh my God talk about nostalgia all the memories come flooding back love love love this game love the series
Love to see this again. I spent hundreds of hours playing this game. Trying to find all secrets and hidden stuff.
Best Donkey Kong game ever!
Awesome game and fond nostalgic memories. Thanks for sharing.
So glad I subbed, not only are all these games sweet, your good as heck at them, like really good, and pretty smart.. Thanks for the great vids retro love..

Merry Christmas.
That iconic intro theme.💗💗💗

A absolute classic that i never got the chance to play.
I remember having the VHS of the making of(or something like that).
PS : have an excellent holiday too, NC.
The music playing when you are choosing a level is the BEST
A very good game that reminds me of my youth, and sometimes I still play it
God I love the intro song. I could sleep to that stuff. Thanks for the video!
I still wish Rare didn't get bought out by Microsoft!
Same
Don't we all? :)
I got this game on Christmas morning, when I was a kid and I absolutely loved it. I couldn’t stop playing it on my Super Nintendo.
I like playing DKC games, my favorite, my childhood.
my first videogame ever and my favorite game of all time ❤
This game's boss theme is knockin'.
I played this videogame, greetings from Guaranda, Ecuador.
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
vividly remember completing this as a kid, sitting im my mum and dads conservatory at midnight completing the final level - happy days.
almost 30 years to the day i played this...memorable
Will you be doing a DKC2 102% and DKC3 103(105)% also?
One of the first titles to feature pre-rendered graphics, Silicon Graphics said it all.
It just does not get any better than this game.
Thank you for upload one of the best video game of all time, being exclusive for Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
I love DK ♥️
I hope there will be new Donkey Kong country games on the Nintendo switch in the future in 2020
I was watching the beginning of dis vid and I said “At the end of this hes gonna have like 1k lives left.” xD
When I was a kid I never read what Cranky Kong had to say. Now I'm 30 and I'm like whoa.
Such beautiful graphics for a SNES game
I'm still in love with these graphics
Wow why didn't I notice this amazing tune at 55:51 playing this as a kid?
Wait... All these years later... I never knew you could bang on the trees to release more banana clusters...
Dang! You got 4 games for Christmas?
Anyway I fondly remember this one and the hype for it. It definitely showed the SNES could still hang.
I got it for Christmas as well. Played it like crazy.
Oh these are some pretty cool bananas
*AAAAAAAAA*
Donkey Kong Country remastered opening cutscene:

I like the game of Donkey kong country it My favorite game on snes.

You made that look so easy lol... I thought that this game, DKC 2 and DKC 3 were the hardest SNES games of the time because they made me so mad back then.
Never could complete the games final boss, Broke 5 controllers because of it.
One Of The Hardest And Best Nintendo Games
Hope you do 2 and 3 sometime!
How they remade this game is amazing if you think about how donkey Kong wasn’t original with Mario, it’s crazy
Me who actually tried hard on the mine cart level: wait there was an secret to skip it this whole time?
I Think I like Diddy Kong he is strong fast.
I haven't played this game for a long time. I remember playing this game 🎮 when I was in school primary school. But it was at the play group I played the Super-Nintendo

Way better than the modern ones by Retro. 90's rare was pure genius.
Tropical Freeze blows this out of the water.
