Great car, and Hyundai continues to hit homeruns with their NEW DESIGNS/MODELS!...Clean, modern, contemporary look with a great interior, features and value!!!!!
Good comprehensive review Hollis. Nice to see Hyundai offering one of their European models, a sporting gt hatchback makes for a nice suv alternative. I saw a surprising number of Hyundais when I was in Italy, mostly diesels though. Nice exhaust note as well.
I thought this was going to be another boring review of some guy that just didn't know what to say about the car. Good review, thanks for going over the features of the car and it's options. Good job!
I’m from NH and I drove by your manch lot then the concord. Although I didn’t get out of my car . Anyway I didn’t see any GT Sport models. I will be back for a test drive within the next month or so.
Really great review. Do you realize you spent more time in the back seats than you did the front? All in all a very informative review. I have on order a white Sport with every and only option. All the features of this car are great. The single thing that sold me is how beautiful this looks.
Thumbs up for the hood being popped in the beginning - although these days there almost nothing to see there it shows you're a car guy. I'm seriously considering one as daily driver....
Picked up a 2018 w/DCT a few months ago with 32k miles on it. It is still very tight with no squeaks or rattles. No mechanical or electrical issues to date. I immediately switched to full synthetic and run only top tier certified brand of premium(93) fuel. Only thing I have noticed is the DCT can be a little herky jerky off the line when it’s engine temp is cold. Keeping it in sport mode seems to resolve the issue as I think it keeps rpm’s just a little higher.
I'm Australian & my wife (& I) recently bought a new i30SRSportTurbo1.6DCT Premium 'with the lot' (aka ElantraGT Sport in the US.). Aust also have the all the Elantra Sedan 'small sedan' variants incl the turbo in Aussie. Love this car except the handbook . I think of this as an i30'N' 'lite', as it's fast, safe, quiet & a 'sleeper' by avoiding 'loud colours' & thus, 'boy racers' . Hyundai ain't 'sexy' anywhere but 'euro car' lovers & badge snobs get huge maintenance costs plus 3year warranty vs 5year Hyundai & 7 for Kia.
Hallo! could you please briefly describe the driving d ynamics more specificly? how is the steering feel? how about handling? aline with Mazda3 ? Thanks
Why the difference in tech between the hatch sport and sedan sport version? The hatch has ventilated front seats and a back ac vent for the passengers, smart cruise control, electronic driver seat, lane asist, etc... Sry is just that I do like the sedan, but I like some of the features in the hatch. Btw I like your videos, keep going..
That's a good question, sadly one that I do not have an answer for. It seems likely that Hyundai will be refreshing the Elantra sedan fairly soon as the marketing around them has been improving their offerings rapidly. Perhaps with an update will come the availability of more safety technology in other trim levels than "Limited", here's to hoping!
I just bought the GT N line withe DCT because I have to car share sometumes with the wife, as far as autos go I can say the car is indeed Fun! The Veloster N wheel with the paddles is really nice and the car shifts fast and clean. If you can't buy a manual this car is about as fun as you can get for a very fair price!
Finally an actual in depth review of this car! Great job!
By far the best 2018 Elantra GT review anywhere!!
Thanks!!

Top notch review Hollis! You deliver a great analysis.
Wonderfully detailed and useful review--thank you!
You're welcome!

Absolutely brilliant to start with the exhaust!!!
Thanks, glad you liked that!
I wish when your driving you would put on the radio to help get a feel for it and the cabin.

It's really a great driver, I would highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already.
Anyone know how this car is holding up to competition in 2021? I am looking at buying this exact 2018 sport model used.

@@southernbuckeye2835 Do you feel like the automatic transmission has trouble getting in to second gear? (I bought it)

Can you do a review on the 2018 Sante Fe Sport? Also excellent review!
I will be in time, and thanks!
If this car had better mpg it would be my top pick for my next car. Kinda meh on exterior but love the interior.
