Hey Scotty I have a 1983 celica with the 22re
it’s MAD SLOW is there any way to make it more faster by ur advice
That's not big News at all my car can do 80mpg and averages about 70mpg (Non Freeway/ Motorway)
UK 2015 Ford FOCUS 1.5 TDCi Zetec 120BHP (Manual Transmission) & I only paid £6200 for it with 32,000K Miles on the Clock and Full History and MOT.
I paid that for it 3 years ago and now it's valued at £9,050. It has 45K Miles on it now and has only had one Issue since I owned it. That was a Replacement Clutch Kit.
Not the actual DMF, just the parts that control it. The USA got totally conned by not have the TDCi Engines, they are in everything over here across the pond.
Hey Scotty. I have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata hybrid. Only 78k miles. But it has been the most trouble free car I have ever owned. Quite nice. However I am one who is anal about keeping up with periodic maintenance. I think that can be key to the longevity of any vehicle. I understand still, too, that there are. still are many that are crap. Oh and FYI, my Hyundai was built in South Korea. That could be a factor.
One more shock and the car industry will have a heart attack.
😂😂😂
You can feel how humourous Scotty is.
No just the American car corporation's
At this point, yea
😂😂😂😂
Bought my daughter a 2015 Hyundai Elantra years ago. Drove it up to 120,000 mi ran great. The only problem I would say it had was the rear brakes would wear out fast. Had to replace them three times versus the front only once. The only reason we got rid of it was because Hyundai contacted me and offered a trade value I couldn't pass up.
Made a good lifetime decision
You got lucky go buy a lottery ticket. All the one I've seen go bang just out of warranty.
I had a 2007 Sonata with the 2.4 and went through back brakes alot as well. They seemed to not back off very much after I would take my foot off the brakes. Had a head gasket problem at around 35,000. Other than the back brakes, I had no problems after that. Had 157,000 on it when I traded it off.
those sliding rubbers from caliper pins wear out and water gets inside causing it to rub while driving
My 2012 new Hyunday made it to 200k miles until I wrecked it. No issues previous to the wreck.
We rented one of these on a trip to Vegas last year. I was shocked. Almost 50 mpg. And the ride quality and fit and finish was way better than I expected. I’m a Toyota loyalist and I’m still not sure I’d buy Hyundai but i was impressed as heck!
They really are good cars say over personal experience. Then Again it’s my first Hyundai has over 110k on it still runs smoothly and perfect. Only thing that went out was the front door window regulator
@@lgstar3363 I saw a video about a 2012 Hyundai Accent that just went over 700,000 miles.
I bought the '23 Hybrid Elantra, it's a tight unit. All great so far, getting 50+ is sweet, I paid way more than a little over 20K though, it is the Limited but I'm not sure I could get any Elantra for low 20's. I have yet to see a '23 Elantra on the road, have seen 1 '22 Elantra, that's sort of nice. The Elantra N's would be real nice to have as a performance sleeper, but 2023, mpg rules.
I had a 2008 Hyundai Elantra bought new - sold 13 years later - car had zero problems in all that time. One set of tires, and one car battery. and general maintenance. Didn't even need the battery - was almost 10 years old when I replaced it - showed full charge, but I played it safe and replaced it anyway. Great reliable car.
Exactly, scotty hates everything but toyota
All indian korean etc he claims are trash but i doubt its the case just in US
@@hiteshadhikari - I can only speak from my personal experience owning a Hyundai. I also owned a Kia - a new 2010 Soul+ I drove trouble-free for 10 years, trading it for a Kia Forte in 2019 - which in 4 years has been problem-free also.
@@RedEyeC scotty has a lot of info which is biased or outdated or based on how those companies operate in US
@@hiteshadhikari that is becouse they are not up to the quality standards of Toyota…those damn japans and so. Anal about their products…
Thank you for praising Hyundai. They seem to be under-rated compared to Honda& Toyota.
I’ve driven by both the Hyundai and the Kia plants in Alabama and they are both absolutely enormous, so big they have their own water towers.
They treat their employees very well and even have medical staff inside the plant to treat them if they are sick or injured
We need more and more superchip plants, and more packaging and manufacturing jobs
2011 Elantra owner with 100K miles. Zero issues. Do all maintenance myself (only needed tires/brakes/oil). No GDI, No CVT..Made in Korea (not trashy Alabama). Best car I've ever owned
Older Elantras are pretty decent, easily my favorite Hyundai
No wonder, you did all the maintenance yourself.
You realize that trashy Alabama assembles the car using Korean engines and trannys; the two major problems in Hyundai.
Sorry but they are still crap cars you’ll be lucky to get 150,000 out of it
@@dramacentral5776it all depends how you treat them.
"Do you live under there? Do you eat under there?"
I love Scotty.
With as much time as I spend under the hood, when he said that I thought yeah, I do live under there 😂
😂😂😂
I have a 2.0L 2015 Hyundai Elantra GLS/Sport with 300,000 kms on it and has really only required usual maintenance. It's done well through all the years I've had it, especially through the winters we get here in Canada. I also installed an oil catch can and it's been doing great keeping the engine clean. Planning on driving it until it gives out on me!
I remember the Honda CRX HF. I think they had something like 60 bhp out of a SOHC 1.5 liter engine but they could get 60+ mpg on the highway. They weren't quick or fast but they could go 300,000+ miles if you kept the oil changed in them.
Sorry, I didn’t see this before I said the same thing🤪
We had one of those as well. Outstanding mileage and not a bad ride. Warp heads finally forced us to get ride of it.
Had a 85 CRX and favorite car ever. Sipped gas and was so fun to drive.
Those were great, but they were made of tin foil. Anything hits it and it’s praying time.
Rented one about a year ago and got about 45 MPG on a 500 mile trip mostly flat travel when I figure it out by miles driven /gals used. Cars have come a long way and have a ways to go.
i have a 2019 IONIQ electric and love it. i've had no issues with it. mine was built in SK and then shipped here after assembly
Lots of Toyotas made in Huntsville AL, & mostly trucks. Now switching over to EVs from regular cars. Got a friend who works there.
My first car when I turned 16 was a 2010 hyundai elantra. It was my dad's before he gave it to me, and between the both of us we put 145k miles on it over almost 14 years. Never once did I have to do anything besides normal maintenance, but it definitely was showing it's age and I decided to trade it in last week before it needed any major work. I think elantras are a perfect car for anyone to give their kid when they turn 16. They're easy to drive and maneuver and are cheap enough that you wont be as mad if your kid wrecks it.
The best car I ever had was a 1986 Chevy Sprint. Advertised as a 60 on the highway and 55 in the city. Actually got 61 on the highway and 48 in a very congested city. I could open the hatch and put in a full 8ft 2x4 and close the hatch. This car had a 3 cylinder engine and carb, not fuel injected. Not the speediest but very wonderful transportation.
I had a 2001 Toyota Echo that got 52 miles to the gallon. I wish I had never traded it in for a 2016 Ford Escape. Wish I had just kept it. Loved that little car. The only reason I got the Ford Escape was because a car seat wouldn't fit in the back seat unless the front seat was pushed all the way forward, making it impossible for a passenger to ride in the front. I only had a little over 72,000 miles on it too.
I work at the Hyundai plant in Montgomery Alabama I see Hyundai‘s every day I remember working on these cars I’m watching this video as I just got off work they pay pretty good there
Nice
My girl has a loaded 21. Has the huge infotainment and digital dash from the genesis. Pretty damn nice for its class. At the time it it had the best tech out of anything in its class and thats why she picked it. I'm always amazed by the mpg it gets.
On my 2nd hyundai, 2014 accent was awsome, now bought a kona 2.0 engine 🤞. No issues with accent
Keep on shockin' us Scotty with quality car advice
(I love to hear 'em complain!)
My wife bought a new Hyundai Tucson in 2013 and she’s still driving it today with about 325,000 miles on it (she has a 50 mile work commute). Besides maintenance, the only issue we’ve had is with one rear brake caliper that seized up.
Had a Tucson... Kept it 13 years. It had problems but, did well till it DIDN'T. Tucson was good till it wasn't. Became a serious nightmare.
I can vouch for him getting that mileage as I also have a 2022 Hyundai Elantra SE. This is my fourth Elantra (11, 13, 19, 22) but my first one made in S.Korea!
Say about yoself can't keep up with one
I own a 2021 Hyundai Elantra and can attest to this fuel mileage. It is incredibly efficient. So far 43k miles and no issues whatsoever. And it drives amazing!
My 2016 Elantra looks better than yours! 😂
At 4:35, here in New Jersey, if you stay to the very right, the speed bump is not as high and easier to drive over.
Had a 2005 over 200 k ran great gave to my brother few months back biggest job was timing belt and cam sensor rest was basic maintenance
Be interesting to see how that compares to the hybrid Elantra.
My 2020 Kia Forte has gotten 50 MPG before, 22 in the city when I'm driving not so great, but on the highway and backroad this past weekend driving about 300 miles I got 50 MPG. Great car.
53mpg from a 2.0 litre is absolutely outstanding
You actually believe it got 53mpg? What's the EPA fuel rating on it?
@@ManCaveMachining my 2015 CX3 routinely achieved 45 mpg on the highway, so yes.
@@ManCaveMachining probably a hybrid
No way it actually gets 53 mpg. The mpg displayed on the dash is rarely accurate.
@@ManCaveMachiningThe hybrid model gets 53. He is confused.
The world's only moon rocket, Saturn V, was designed and manufactured in Huntsville, Alabama. Love your videos. They are habit forming.
First grown up car was a 13' Elantra. That car was absolutely terrific. Got 42 mpg on the highway. I rode it for 120k without much issues other than replacing a brake caliper and a spark plug. In 2020, I upgraded to a Sonata SE. Gets even better fuel economy on the highway than my Elantra at 45-50 mpg. Unfortunately though, I had to replace a thermostat at 24k. Right now I am at 43k with a check engine light due to the EGR. Kind of disappointed right now with the dealer network as it takes 2 weeks to even get an appointment. If Hyundai can improve their dealer network, I think their product would be a lot more compelling.
yeah I'd like a cheese burger fries and a coke and step on it boy!!!🤣
Why don't you just buy the part and change it yourself? You'd b surprised how easy the work is
Nice report
Hey Scotty I have a 2014 Grand caravan with 320,000 km (yep, Canadian, that's 200k real miles.) and the engine has run very nicely for 2 years with the engine light on and a P0430 code. (Catalyst 2\1 efficiency)
Every so often the light goes off for 3 to 5 days and this makes me nervous when the engine light shuts off on a Dodge... 🤣 but then it comes back on stores my faith.
What keeps turning this light back on? (or how can I correct the long term issue?)
I have a 2010 Kia Rio sedan with 250 k’s still running like a champ, just oil changes, four new tires two years ago and regular maintenance
you're my favorite on youtube, if someone were to tie your arms down I doubt you could talk! 😀I've been enjoying your channel for many years, keep up the good work❤
Scotty you would think that Hyundai would work very hard to improve their vehicles, and learning from Toyota is an awesome idea! Thanks for your honesty! My 2019 Hyundai Sonata still seems to be holding up quite well! I get two oil , and filter changes with full synthetic, and that is putting. on 6,000 miles a year!!
I work at the plant trust me they’re not improving much I work at the plant where this one came from in Alabama
Own a 2018 Sonata hybrid that has been pretty much bulletproof to this point. Built in S. Korea.

I have a 2022 Kia Rio S with the 1.6L and the same IVT transmission, has been a great little car with on-time oil change intervals. i average 41-43 MPG in the city on 87 gas, and usually 45+ MPG with 93 premium, it runs a lot better/smoother on 93 premium for a tiny engine I'm really surprised. I've only had it 11 months and I put 28k miles on it, it's a great gas saver and it has a somewhat decent 6 speaker sound system. The only reason I got it was for the price and to have Apple CarPlay. I opted for the Technology package because you get more
Yea still would've choose a mazda of that lol
@@cormaro13 my next car will most likely be a Camry, my last car got totaled during the chip shortage so i didnt have many options last year.
@@steven-rb2ef eh decent choice but you're paying out more for the brand vs features, mazda comes with more features for the price and then the cvt on the new Toyota ones 🤢 I'll recommend it for a test drive if you're trying to dish out the money for a camry lol

I have a 2015 Sonata with the 2.4 GDI non-turbo engine and over 100K miles. Only regular maintenance. Been an outstanding car - gets 40 MGP regularly on road trips.
Just got a 2019 Elantra SEL and I'm not disappointed yet. I traded in a 2013 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T which did me great aside from little things around the 100k mark (windshield sprayer motors, door handle button, etc...). Prior to purchase, the biggest criticisms I found from people online were that they weren't fun to drive and that they were ugly. I didn't mind the drive or the look, so I said screw it and went for it bc it was a *decent* deal. We'll see though.
Honestly, my older 2008 & 2012 Elantra’s ran well over 150k with zero issues. However, I kept up with maintenance & care.
I had a 2017 Kia Forte S and it had some minor things replaced under extended warranty. But I absolutely missed the fuel economy. I was mostly averaging in the high 30s and low 40s even in city stop n go traffic.
My Hyundai Ionic with it's 1.6 L atkinson combined with the electric motor gets in the mid sixties...It now has 83,000 and still runs great.
That is an awesome looking car!
A friend of mine works at the Alabama plant and they demand quality. Treat employees good too !
Hi Mr Scotty, I can suggest one program yo show the reliable cars in 2023 without CVT transmission, Thanks.
Thank you Scotty.
I can confirm it was indeed shocking for us at the Entire Car Industry
where'd you pick up the Sasquatch in the backseat?
I thought he was Hyundai Jesus with the beard and all.
I was getting 43.5 the other day in my 2023 Camry SE AWD!!
my mom drove a 2003 Hyundai Elantra from Nov 2003 to May 2005 and never had major issues with it then she upgraded to a 2005 Sonata which we had until Nov 2019 though dad drove it from Sept 2012 to Nov 2019 because mum got a Hyundai Azera limited for her 50th birthday which is currently worth 12,000 as a trade in due to condition extreme low mileage for its age and it being an extremely rare car only about 200,000 Azeras sold in the US in the 16 years the model was sold where as in that same time period The Chevrolet Impala had sold 3.2 million units in the US and in its entire production the Impala sold over 16 million units in the US
Scotty, many Hondas are made in Alabama too. Lincoln Alabama
Honda's, Toyota's, Hyundai, Kia's, it sounds like they build something for most companies.
Please review the 2023 jetta as well.
I have an Elantra hybrid 2023. it has already 16,000 mileage.
if in the future you are in Seattle feel free to contact me so you can review the car if you want to. in the meantime I will keep watching your videos looking farther for new information on the Elantra hybrid 2023
Bought my 2011 Elantra with 165 000 KMs and now has just over 250 000 KMs after 5 years. I definitely go through breaks more than other people, I had my engine replaced for free by Hyundai. My trunk latch release stopped latching so i gorta replace that. Overall not much has gone wrong but I will say my car rides terrible over bumps and potholes or just exiting driveways It's really rough. I do like my car and I might get another one, hopefully a newer model.
Hey Scotty what are your thoughts on the Hyundai Santa Cruz?
On my last vacation I took one of these cars and I averaged about 50 miles a gallon I thought that was cool
The base Elantra is probably the most fuel efficient non-hybrid car on the market right now, and it doesn't feel slow at all.
Many people don't know this, but the Elantra is one of the lightest cars you can buy!
Wont be light when my mother in law sits in it. 😂
Luckily my 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT is still running good with 128k miles. Only unexpected repairs are Camshaft sensor and a extremely small leak somewhere in the AC line. We will see if I can make it to 200k....
My mom 2013 Hyundai Elantra with 170k miles she’s had no issues. She’s loves the gas mileage, the styling, and how cute and small it is lol. But it’s still running and driving. It takes $15-25 just to fill it up. I like the 1.8 in the Elantra. People say there bad bc of there engines but I like it a lot. It’s give us no issues. We keep up maintenance on it and everything.
I have a 2020 Elantra. Same transmission and pretty much same engine I think they done slight updates to that one. But I now have 59,300 miles on it now and knock on wood nothing replaced on it yet brakes and tires are still original too although they need replaced soon 😂. So far been pretty good car.
53.5 mpg? Really? How do you know the speedometer/odometer is calibrated correctly? How do you know the computer fuel consumption is calibrated correctly? 2005 Honda Civic had class action suit because odometer showed more miles than actually travelled, so warranty did not last as long as it should have.
picking up where we left off in the 60s and the 80s, cool
The Elantra N is a crazy fun Hyundai is doing amazing. Wish somebody could bring theirs to scotty.
You are an. Invaluable resource
What the link for that jean jacket Scotty? Thanks alot have a good one!
We have that generation of Elantra. It is a great car for us. I love it
I have a 2012 elantra and its been pretty good. Starter had to be replaced. Replaced the rear calipers a few weeks ago. I need to change the steering coupler next. But after 121000 miles i expect to start replacing stuff. Oh yeah and the cam shaft position sensor.
My ex mother in law had a 1996 Hyundai with 290,000 miles last time i checked and would not die. Interior & exterior fell apart every step of the way but stayed running.
I've heard of issues with their 6 cylinders but they have their 4 bangers dialed in...
Would you recommend a used 2021 sonata with 2.5gdi? And an 8speed automatic.
5:26 The guy in the backseat. 😂
Thought I was seeing things
I have a 2023 Corolla and I only get 47mpg on the highway, and I'm only doing 65. Impressive indeed.
This Hondi shows that keeping thing simple and proper design can achieve a car like this that can have high MPG. I think all of these computer controls has provided very little for the cost ratio. The only thing it has done is taken the ability of a person to repair their own car.
My grandfather bought a Kia Spectra (which was based on the Hyundai Elantra) brand new in April 2009 and it only has 43K miles on it now. The car has sat for about 4 years now ever since he passed away, but I plan getting it back to working order and driving it for a long time. It just needs a new battery, wipers, the regular fluid changes, and some body work and interior cleaning and it should be good to go! It never had any mechanical problems and the engine is actually pretty peppy.
Wow, sounds like a pretty new cheap korean car that is hard to find nowdays in a condition like that.
Change the spark plugs.
Then flush all the fluid in the car. Coolant, Trans, engine, differential, brakes, etc.
Then your car should run for a very long time.
Bought an Elantra 2017 GL Automatic. It has a problem of stalling randomly at normal city speed (
My sister just got one of these & im praying big time
Hello sir a axle thats new with new seal but still leaking what could be the issue.
A oil technician told me when he put the transmission fluid that my transmission looked good.
Days later notice it's still leaking.
Also can this affect steering returnability?
Thanks alot
The colours and lines and angles the screen shows projected over the road that lays ahead... does this thing (and do cars like this one nowadays) have some kind of steering assist?
One of my friends has a VW Polo. 1.4l 4 cylinder auto. Non turbo. It gets about 60mpg fuel economy.
The problem isn’t just the hundred thousand mile warranty but the fact that the warranty lasts only seven years, so for an old person like me, the warranty might run out and then something would break because seven years will go by before hundred thousand miles
yep--exactly
100k mile warranty is pretty damn good, the standard is 60k. Regardless, I wouldn’t buy one
@@TerminxmanYeah, but the point is, a Honda doesn’t need 100,000 mile warranty because it’s so well built
Hyundai powertrain warranty is 10 years / 100,000 miles. The only other one's that match that is Kia and Mitsubishi, all other real car manufacturers are less, most are far less like half that.
@@jeffzekas Sure, Hondas have issues like everything else.
plenty of KIA-Hyundai here in England. Popular cars seemingly because they tick all the boxes, including that loooooooong warranty.
However, lots of the smaller ones with heavy rust on the tailgate lips and rear end underneath. Engines don't stand up much past 100,000 miles either.
Moral of that story is buy it new and get rid before the warranty expires. Don't buy second hand unless it's been really well looked after
Scotty, you need to see the Toyota wigo I just bought in the Philippines. Better than 60 mile/gal. Called agya in wiripe. Not a bad car at all
I’d love to have a cvt with a stick shift that slides so I could accelerate and slowly increase the ratio and keep the rpms at the optimum rate for efficiency or power, depending on what I’m going for. It would be so fun to drive. I think most people wouldn’t know how to use it.
I've bought hyundai i30 this year, 7year warranty, no miles limited! 💪👌
Something has to keep shocking the industry to bring it back to life after the numerous times it was killed or brought to its end on Scotty's videos.
Any decent mechanic knows that a smaller turbocharged engine working twice as hard will wear out faster. It will also get less real world gas mileage which is a fact since the engine is working harder. I have a 2.5l Mazda 3. It is the best car I have ever owned. I can get 45mpg in my Mazda every day of the week without even trying.
Scott, did the leprechaun in the back seat have anything to do with the good gas mileage? 😅😅
$500 thermostat wiped out 10,000 miles of travel. Ouch. (Well, here in Texas at current gas prices. California and other states with psycho gas taxes.)
I bought a 2021 Toyota Corolla Apex brand new in 2021 with 2 miles on it and I used to get 395 miles full even tho it’s capable of 400 miles full… I was getting 35/38 city, 40/41 highway and now I’m lucky to get 385 miles full and I’m lucky to get above 30mpg on the highway… 60,000 miles highway driven… hope his lasts with mpg.
I owned a chevy that was about 30 years old. The horn came on by itself one hot summer day.
Hyundai still has a great warranty.
they got normal hand brake ! Respect !
Scotty back in the late 80s early 90s Honda made a CRXHF that got 52 miles to the gallon on the highway and I believe around 36 in the city. And the funny thing is that it was carbureted I believe the United States outlawed them. 🤪
I had one, an '88. I actually got 55 mpg overall, 60-plus highway. Not carbureted, fuel injected. The government did not outlaw them, Americans did not want want to buy them! Honda only sold 10,000 a year of the HF, about half as many as the Si model, which only got 35 mpg, but was faster. There also was a mid-line model that was the biggest seller, I believe, that got 45 mpg. Other problem was that the insurance companies did not want to insure small, sporty, 2-seaters anymore, so the whole category eventually became extinct. It is like buying a red Porsche, insurers cringe. Wonder why? Can you say "young and immature male" or "midlife crisis male?" BTW my car was stolen by joyriders who trashed it, the first one of a thirty-day string of Honda thefts in my city. I would say get a bike, but those are stolen even more than cars are! Better walk to work...LOL.
I've heard stories of hypermilers getting high 60s mpg. I think most people got in the 40s though. Still really good and better than most hybrids today. But like with the muscle cars insurance rates just killed them. A person could get a standard trim Civic that still got really good gas mileage for about half the monthly premium that the CRX would have cost them. Plus the Civic had a lot more room as well.
I have two of those cars. A 2022 and 2023. I regularly get over 40mpg doing ride share in mixed traffic driving, i do get close to 50mph on highway. My wife somehow gets considerably leas mpg in her elantra.
Funfact scotty. In europe toyota sells the aygo (a small city car) which has like 60 miles per gallon (21 to 23 kilometres per litre
idk what is the issue in USA hyundai but in middle east country hyundai have good quality regularly last for 350,000 KM without any major problem.
What year is that Elantra @ScottyKilmer?
The family of cars that share the drivetrain (The Kia Forte, Kia Soul, Kia Seltos in the base, Hyundai Elantra and Kona) are all built like this. I test drove a new model Soul with this same engine and it was fantastic. Not a huge fan of start stop but I guess if it doesn't break anything it's fine since its ONLY ON THE BASE MODELS.
I'm torn between getting one of these cars OR a Mazda 3 used.
You'll be happy with the elantra.
About car computer generated mileage, I've found mine consistently over-estimates mileage by about 2mpg, compared with calculating it myself from miles driven divided by gas pumped in. Always calculate it yourself until you find out if you can trust what the car reports.
Love my 04 Mustang GT... 34mpg with that big V8! Just a regular old pushrod V8 single cam. Imagine if it had a modern transmission with some taller gears! Ford needs to bring it back. I'm eyeing a 6 speed swap... will report back with mpgs.
I believe it. Those old, broken in, maintained, unstressed V8s can deliver surprising hwy mpg. They just lope along.
I love hearing about guys who power-wash their John Deere tractors and then wonder why the oil filter cups are corroded and jammed.
Have you been made aware of the channel "robot cantina"? They've got a 700cc 3cyl Kubota diesel installed in a Saturn and are getting about the same gas mileage as the red car in this vid.
5:27 who is that random guy in back though? Lol
So the hyundai website is inaccurate for 2023 elantra se for 42 highway, really can get 25% more?
Sister got a free Honda Insight headed to the junk yard.
New tires, AC compressor replacement, sensors replaced, very difficult 8 spark plugs to get to, had to lift motor to get to the underneath four of them, $3200 into it and it’s been solid. Her husband’s Kia Soul on the other hand has already gone to the junkyard
The Insight was a step in the right direction! An incredibly efficient hybrid coupe with a manual transmission. I want one!
Kia/Hyundai started cutting too many quality corners at the same time some years ago while pushing expensive engine designs, maybe they figured things out again.
