Question… I’m driving a 2019 Hyundai Elantra Ultimate with an automatic transmission right now. Would the dual clutch transmission be that much of a difference? I never drove a manual before. Thanks.
The Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) is still an automatic transmission. DCTs switch gears faster than traditional automatic transmissions, potentially making the ride smoother. DCTs are typically in the performance versions of vehicles, so a bit odd to see in a hybrid.

I've had 1 for 1 year and yesterday it's acting weird. The gas consumption is getting high. I stepped on the gas it didn't move once I let go it accelerate. I don't know what is wrong with this car
The car chooses, but you can control it, get up to speed, ease off the pedal and it will switch to EV then gently ease back on the pedal. I can drive several miles all EV on flat grades or slightly down hill.
No, this car is a normal hybrid meaning it charges itself whenever it is in motion from what I understand. It will always require fuel but you won’t have to visit the gas station as much. The one you’re asking about is a plug-in hybrid. 🙂
I would not get the hybrid. From experience, in Ohio, when the temps drop below freezing the battery really goes into preservation mode and only goes into EV sparingly. When it was below freezing I averaged about 40mpg. Partly due to preheating my car but still much worse MPG. Now if you keep it in a garage it may still do ok. But at that point the standard transmission will probably be the better bet.
@Austin TA It's all about perspective. 40mpg IS bad when typically I get around 50 mpg in my limited hybrid. I actually have even seen my mpg drop into the upper 30s while under freezing conditions. Which is not surprising for hybrids. This is a common issue for almost all hybrids. At this point, when you compare getting the Elantra hybrid vs the non-hybrid, the fuel savings are not there. So what would be achieved by getting the hybrid? Ventilated seats on the limited model??? All I'm saying is that if she lives in an area where most times of year the weather is very cold, she will not get those savings back very quickly if at all because the regular Elantra can get OVER 45MPG highway in real world tests done by RUclipsrs. So let me ask you, why should she get a hybrid that costs about 3 grand USD more when she can buy the regular model Elantra that only gets about 3-5 mpg worse fuel economy in her situation?
@Austin TA fair enough, I'm not familiar with the temps there. All Im saying is that I start to notice a significant difference in fuel economy once the temps start dropping below 40f (~5c), about a 30% decrease in fuel economy under freezing. So as long as majority of the year the temps are above then I would endorse the hybrid! The hybrid also has big pluses too with the suspension and a dct vs a cvt (imo), so I suppose fuel economy isn't everything either!
I still own a 2018 Elantra that I use as a commuter and I get 43 on the highway on average. I still don"t like the new odd/ugly styling. I still think the Civic Touring is the best looking sedan on the market, 180 hp and way better fit and finish and stylish looks.

There is I seen used base model ones going for $29k
good competitor to the Japanese brands.
most of the new cars now have solid sounding fuck...unlike 20 yrs ago, most of the time, only the expensive ones have it
Been watching Sofian for a while now huh? lol
He reviews weird things people don’t care about like the door closing sound and soft padded material on the top of the dash as if anyone actually touches that area on their vehicles. lol
@@isaac198428 ive been watching him since he started....a lot of the reviewers are car enthusiasts.......that is why they notice a lot of things a non enthusiasts would not notice, especially in the budget car segment...soyfan is ok...try to watch raitis rides, he would even describe the lines of the hood and fenders :D
@@isaac198428 You dont care or people dont care are the people who just drive POS hoopties, i think he is more for the enthusiasts
I was all set on a Corolla Hybrid, but the vent seats got me looking at hyundai. lol
Snap back to reality, Kia/Hyundai make junk, Toyota costs more but is well worth it, I know I have the new 2023 Toyota Prius Limited AWD in Guardian Grey and traded a LR Defender SE, my Prius is the best car I've ever owned.
One things that ticks me off with these reviewers complaining about materials in a 29k car. Seriously? Not everything has to be soft touch which would bring the price up, also who’s caressing their dash lol. I want a car that is cheap has good gas and tech, and will last me a long time.
I don't understand some cars though. Tbh rear seats need to have a cigarette lighter outlet and vents in all cars now. No need to waste money on say a E break, or push button start. I just don't get some things cars have now but then don't have other more creature comforts
@@baronvonjo1929 Facts, like I agree with that, i just don’t like how this guy is sitting in a economy car complaining about the plastics and how cheap it feels…. Well that’s the point. Lol tho i agree every car should have something for the rear passengers
@@MicahB98 Yeah I get annoyed about that. But once you reach 27k I personally would expect soft touch but everything below is fine.
@@MicahB98 people want valve for their money. Plastic is plastic and soft touch should be used over that nasty scratchy hard plastic
Will I get the spoon and fork? This will make or break the deal for me. Serious business.
Hi this car model is in US or Canada
Hopefully you live somewhere that actually sells it. It's like 80% Tucsons here in Alaska.
I was looking at Corolla Hybrid but this seems like the best option in this class. Any other suggestions?
Check out the Honda insight Ex
@@macjoseph2375 2022 is last year for the Insight. It's supposed to be replaced by Civic Hybrid but no further news yet. Ioniq hybrid is discontinued after 2022 as well. Not a lot of small hybrids left.
I just bought a 2023 limited.. was checking out the Corolla hybrids too. So happy with the Elantra hybrid.
@@bobbbbbyyyyyyany updates on how you’re feeling with it?
Both rear heated seats and rear air vents are offered on the Korean market version I believe (Hyundai Avante). Weird they are not included for the USA market.
in videos they dont look good but on the road i like the design
Agreed
Perfect example of over body styling she's a head turner aright.
how is the sound system?
I hate that it looks like a sonata but I'll buy it
Do you swap hands for every turn you ever take? It's driving me insane watching you do that.
How do you charge it
Getting my own soon.. Same hybrid but one trim below so I get wireless Android and apple.. Lease options are great now so..
bro I like how he says "cheaped out" like this is only at 24,000 starting price
Starting under 24,000, yea how about you add another 10,000-15,000k to dealers car shortage.
It’s basically a face-lifted continuation of the outgoing Ioniq (not the Ioniq 5). I love my Ioniq, sport mode is the best.
can this car keep up enough speed in highways?
Did they got rid of the interior led that's inside the dash from 2021 model?
Since the current Forte is based off the old Elantra and not the new one, when is the Forte getting redesigned to match the new Elantra? The current Forte and old Elantra are on the J6 platform but the new Elantra is the K3 platform. Heck, could Kia even rebrand the Forte to the Kia K3 when their K3-platform compact sedan comes to be consistent with how they rebranded the Optima to K5?
I bought it a month ago and it is awesome car
Hows that dct
@@ultragoldcoin8780 I won't say it's the best but still, it is pretty good. It shifts softly just like any other automatic transmission. But the only drawback is that since it's DCT, it kinda prefers to shift at higher revs than I thought at a low speed when the engine is on
Plus it isn't the issue with DCT but engine is bit loud at cold start. Maybe it sounds loud to me because I used to drive a N/A V6
Other than that, I'm very satisfied.
@@marcco954 I’m driving a 2019 Hyundai Elantra Ultimate with an automatic transmission right now. Is DCT that much of a difference? I never drove a manual before. The thought of having to shift gears seems a bit intimidating to me.😬
I feel like auto manufacturers rarely send car reviewers black cars
No power outlets or usb ports?
No comment about that Rolls you passed...
Thanks for the video. I have a 2004 Hyundai Sonata that I own. I am having issues with it and with my finances, I wanna make a good choice for my first car that'll from a loan. This is really peaking my interest!
lol same
I want a cheap hybrid that isn’t a Toyota, because Toronto toyota dealers are terrible and push for finance, and their bread and butter corollas and rav4s are lifeless. Kinda want this just to have a dual clutch
Nice review overall but you're talking a lot too fast. Couldn't hear every word in places even after rewinding.
You can't brake-torque a dual clutch, unless it has a launch contro function...by design...
Elegant A to B car. [from Melb Aussie]
i prefer the regular inexpensive to replace lights...if im inside the car i will not see them anyways....lol
Wish you would have tested the Bose audio also.
does the hybrid elantra come in automatic or only standard? anyone?
Why do people keep putting cars on the grass to show them around? It literally ruins the impression. It’s like putting a horse in a bathroom for photoshoot.
Spoon and fork are the new standard equipment.
I've had 1 for 1 year and yesterday it's acting weird. The gas consumption is getting high. I stepped on the gas it didn't move once I let go it accelerate. I don't know what is wrong with this car
did you figure out what wrong with the vehicle?
@@PhuGamer nop it fixed by itself the next day. I told the dealer they didn't care. I don't either it's a lease lol
Are you able to choose when to drive electric only? Or is up to the car to choose? I know its not plug ig so I wont go to far without gas
The car chooses, but you can control it, get up to speed, ease off the pedal and it will switch to EV then gently ease back on the pedal. I can drive several miles all EV on flat grades or slightly down hill.
i dont like the side zorro accent....to me, its better if its just a simple line
Would be nice to see a 2.0 or 2.4 in combination with the hybrid system
This may be a dumb question but im new to hybrid cars. Does this car need to be plugged in?
No, this car is a normal hybrid meaning it charges itself whenever it is in motion from what I understand. It will always require fuel but you won’t have to visit the gas station as much. The one you’re asking about is a plug-in hybrid. 🙂
Is a hybrid car advisable for us who are in Ontario, Canada? We have incredibly cold winters.
@@jfralick100 thanks for the info!
5:06 why do the taillights not like up at all when they meet at the trunk line
They’re tryna be like Tesla
Very Nice Bro. Get Good people!
13:22 that's level 😎
Awesome review
@5:31 you are wrong i think because vw jetta jas more trunk space
I still own a 2018 Elantra that I use as a commuter and I get 43 on the highway on average. I still don"t like the new odd/ugly styling. I still think the Civic Touring is the best looking sedan on the market, 180 hp and way better fit and finish and stylish looks.
What is the electrical range for this car?
