    I've been reading some negative comments about the exterior styling of the 2018 and I admit I like the prior model design a bit more...especially the rear. HOWEVER, i did take a test drive in the 1.5 Touring and fell in love with the ride and the amenities. I have a 2014 Sport and have owned Accords since the 80's...so I'm very prejudiced. This is a 1st class vehicle and in this class I don't think you'll find a better car. Android Car Play...NFC immediate bluetooth linking, incredible 10 speaker sound system, ...wow.
    I pick mine up tomorrow !!

      Jim DeLuco I agree on the exterior!! I don't care for it but I also went to see them and I do like the new features! I have a 16 and have had an accord since I was 16, still debating on getting the new one, I like my current accord exterior and interior too much to jump on the 18

    I love everything about my silver EX, except the plastic steering wheel. A lot of cars come with leather (real/faux) steering wheels on their mid level trims, but not Hondas. ended up swapping the plastic one for a brand new leather one from the Touring model. Was very easy and just needed to carefully swap out the plastic button surrounds to the new steering wheel. Now this car feels perfect!

      @@bmlove81sucks no one responded to you. I've been owning mine since 2019. It's a 2018 EX 1.5T
      I love it, still do! Downsides are the speakers quite honestly. I've had a few issues, 90k, 1 fuel injector failed (that was a surprise to me), and at 70k, my AC compressor kinda melted and seized in the off position and so did the clutch (idk how that happened.... 🤔 Never got an answer as to what may have happened).
      Other than that, no other issues. Drives like a charm! Still drives great! I love my Honda.
      I got my Honda from Carmax knowing I wanted the 150,000m warranty incase anything happens to my car. The extended warranty has covered both repairs so far so I'm delighted with it still. I can't speak the same for those who had to pay out of pocket for out if warranty work. 😬

    My 2018 Accord 1.5T just had a fuel injector fail at 58k error code P0172 (posted on my channel). Modern Honda look amazing but once the 3yr/36k warranty expires you're on your own and you have no idea how expensive modern Honda engines are to fix. Oil changed at 80%, Shell regular used 80% of the time, always did warm up the car in the winter. Dealer so out of touch they recommended brake fluid replacement at 30k. I've never seen this part fail in ANY of my past cars. When asked why the injector failed so early Dealer said they see them all the time and cost of replacement is $1600-$2500 (must replace all 4) and the new injectors warranty is only for 12k/12mos! I was in love and bought the 1st Accord on the lot with series ending in -0001 but when I made a case with Honda to see if it could be part of a bad batch all I got was the VM of the case manager for weeks on end. Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice...

    This guy does such a great job on these videos! I love watching his videos. He is very relaxed, knows the information and is clear and detailed about each vehicle. This kid seems so comfortable in front of a camera. That's a hard thing to find in these videos. So many people seem nervous and stiff. This kid should go to work on his own show maybe. I watch a show called TFL on youtube a lot and I could see this kid starting a show and kicking their butt in viewers. I saw the newer videos and this kid is not in them. Why? No offense to the new guy but he is not even in the ball park of being as good as this kid is. It's nice to watch someone who clearly knows what they are talking about. What happened to this kid? Great review young man! I'll be getting one of these next month. One comment if I may. I think the hard plastic on the rear doors might also be because Honda knows kids will primarily be riding back there and they figured a soft touch material would get too beaten up. Also, I was curious if you might know this. Can you, on the EX model, roll all the windows down at the same time? Keep up the great reviews.

    • @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup
      @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup  6 лет назад

      You can if you use the remote to open the windows. Press the unlock button twice to unlock all doors, on the second press hold the button for the windows to open. They will keep opening until you let go or they are fully down. As for a one press auto up/down feature, that is for the front windows only.

    I have a question. I noticed on the specs that the fuel tank size has dropped from 17 gallons on the 9th gen to 14.5. My question is from a full tank, what does the cruising range read on the trip computer.

    • @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup
      @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup  7 лет назад +1

      I cannot comment on what the trip computer reads out, but if you take the 14.5 and multiply it by the EPA estimated 38MPG highway on the EX I was in you come up with 551. Shave off a gallon (so you don't run dry) and you are still left with 513 miles. You MPG will be dependent on where and how you are driving of course.

    I believe there are some downside feathers to the 2018 Accord that the tour guide neglected to mention.
    To name just a few, the tour guide didn't mention that the alloy wheels stick out further than the tires so when you're parallel parking and you get too close to the curb, instead of brushing the tires you damage the expensive alloy wheels. That's only the beginning. Whenever you go in for service, they'll want to rotate your tires for free. Of course! That will put another wheel in position to be damaged while parking. They’re not so dumb. Alloy wheels are around $200+ each.
    This one is for men. With a suit or sports jacket on, try to connect your seat belt. The connector is down between the seat and the center counsel so it’s very hard to do, bad design.
    Be careful doing straight in perpendicular parking. Chances are very good that you will scrape the bottom of your car on the curb before the front wheels touch the curb. And by all means don't bump into anything more rigid than a beach ball. The whole front end is plastic (even the parts that guard the Honda Sensing unit and the intercooler). Are you surprised that the tour guide didn't mention any of this? I'm not.
    One more thing, and if you don’t laugh you have no sense of humor. Did you notice the speedometer? It goes to 160 mph. The car’s engine is red-lined at around 100 mph. I think it has to do with Toyota’s speedometer that goes to 140 mph. I wonder if the designers figured the Honda owner will get more girls with a higher number on the speedometer. You should ask.
    Thanks, tour guide, for the tour.

    Honda should throw the 1.5L engine from the Civic into the HR-V without any modification and I'll then buy and HR-V instead of the HRV. Don't need the larger CUV but l want more pep to it. Gas mileage wise it's similar. Great review.

    I also watched the Grappone Automotive Group
    's review of the 2018 Camry LE. Your review had very positive things to say about the Camry. In your opinion which is the better choice, the Accord 1.5T or the Camry LE? and why?

    • @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup
      @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup  6 лет назад +3

      You are correct, I was greatly impressed by the new Camry. The Camry is a comfortable, reliable, safe and now enjoyable sedan to drive. In the past, never would I think of Camry as anything other than bland. Now it has some real life to it. Coupled with good styling and Toyota has a nice sedan in their hands. With that being said, the Accord still wins my heart. The driving dynamics in the Accord are just so enjoyable. It can easily carve up the corners of your favorite streets and that evening take you to a fine event in comfort and style. I also really like the technology in the Accord - AppleCarPlay/Android Auto are both standard which to me is important. The cherry on top, if you will, is the availability of a manual transmission in the Accord - I'm sold.

Or if you'd rather have an LX or EX with a leather wrapped wheel, you can get the Heated Steering Wheel from Honda which is wrapped in leather.

    A turbo for a daily driver is a no go for me. That means you need oil changes every 3,000 miles and you pretty much have to use synthetic oil. I'll be looking at a Camry instead or a 2017 accord.

    • @geewilligers3326
      @geewilligers3326 7 лет назад +6

      markanders250 No it doesn’t mean you need an oil change every 3000. Plus almost every manufacturer is going with turbos so good luck finding naturally aspirated in the future.

    • @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup
      @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup  7 лет назад +5

      I can understand your concern @markanders250, it may be helpful to hear that my CR-V with the same 1.5T only requests oil changes every 6-8k miles depending on how the computer has calculated my driving. Honda does use a synthetic oil, but the quantity is small given the size engine and is only around $40 for a change. Toyota has used synthetic oil for years, they have chosen to do 10k oil changes.

    • @IReahpZz
      @IReahpZz 7 лет назад +5

      markanders250 I've had 2 turbo cars. Neither needs that early of an oil change lmao 7-10k on synthetic depending on the calibration of the car

    • @nick00790

      What I know is that most of new cars are using synthetic oil instead of regular oil like before.

    • @noseefood1943
      @noseefood1943 7 лет назад +4

      that might've been true about turbo cars from the past, I had '86 merkur xr4ti and the turbo always ran super hot and cooked oil. today's turbos are oil and/or water cooled and 8-10k miles on full synth oil will be ok.

      Rea Ality, it will take atleast few weeks before the efficiency begins to increase. I had low average until the engine began to ‘break in’ and accustomed to my driving habits. It also helps to drive smoothly thus reducing the load on the engine. Initially, the car has few miles on it and very few data points for the computer to compute actual efficiency.

      $28G is pretty steep. My Accord has only 105k miles and is 13 years old (2004 EX I4). I figure I can hold on to her for another 10 years and squeeze another 100k (10k miles driving per year) out of her to save on car payments. I figure in 10 yrs I can more than double $28G by investing that amount (1.08^^10X$28G=$60.45G) at 8% annual compounded interest.

    • @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup
      @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup  7 лет назад

      Keep in mind, the 28G is what Honda suggests for Retail. Honda doesn't allow me to disclose our actual sale price for anyone but the intended recipient to view (so I can't post it here), but I can tell you it's less than the suggested retail.

    • @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup
      @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup  6 лет назад

      It's all down to personal taste. A manual transmission gives the driver a significantly more connected feel to the car, whereas an automatic transmission nowadays typically yields slightly higher MPG's. It's all about what you are looking for in a car!

    Hello Hollis. We corresponded a year ago, when I was looking at Cars. I got a 2017 accord touring last October, black on black. It has 6,400 miles. Do you think the 18 is worth trading in my 17? How much money would I loose? I have about 15K paid off. Is the 18 that much better to make a trade in? Or should I try to quelch my impulsive behavior? You're a good man, Hollis. My inquiry might be reflective of the questions of your other fans. Hope you have time to say hello.

    • @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup
      @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup  7 лет назад

      Hey Paul, I do remember chatting last year. Congrats again on your Touring - those are NICE. I wish I drove as little as you do, I put that amount of miles on my CR-V in only 4 months! Since I don't work in sales, I'm honestly not the person to quote you on prices. The last thing I want is to give out misinformation. I can't recall, are you local? We actually have a team dedicated solely to determine whether our Honda guests are in a positive equity position or not regardless of buying from us, I know they would be able to give you a proper answer. You can find all their info on our site (grapponehonda.com/vehicle-equity-program/). Enjoy your ride man, whichever way you go!

    • @pauldwyer6118
      @pauldwyer6118 7 лет назад

      Thanks Hollis. Last year, I was between the six, the camry, fusion and accord. The six had no V6, the fusion wasn't as reliable and the accord beat the camry with enthusiasts. I became a car buff with youtube and I thought I found the solution: Many people still like the 2017. Although the two screen might seem dated, it's still pretty nice. So here's what I aim to do. 1) Pay off my current car; if I feel impulsive, I would be wiser to make these decisions with a paid off car. 2) I can upgrade my 2017 with a pin stripe, spoiler, hood thing on top (whatever that's called), ambient lighting....someone else on youtube put lots of things in his 2017. I think a totally decked out 2017 might be as appreciated as the new 2018's. Also, Hollis, perhaps you have some insight into the following, and I'm sure many of your fans are wondering the same thing: Will the 2.0 turbo in the long run be as reliable as the V6? That is a good question and perhaps you may have an opinion? Likewise, I'll still do my homework for the new accord. Paul

    • @chongolongos
      @chongolongos 7 лет назад

      Keep your V6. It's already depreciated by ~25%. 10th Gen long term reliability is unknown yet.

    • @pauldwyer6118
      @pauldwyer6118 7 лет назад

      Hello Chongolongos. Thank you very much for the reply, for I greatly appreciate it. Well, you know how it is..When you buy, you obscess.....The hard cycle. So I kept getting videos and I kept watching them. Anyway, you're right. I'm not going to do a trade in, but rather get tinted windows, a stripe and perhaps some window guards. Now that I think of it, a supped up 2017 might outclass the 18. I'll keep my car. I agree about the lack of data and I feel the V6 will last longer
