    I've got one in primer. Customer came in while I was looking for a few spots like you got. He said let them go, paint it. I waited till he left then fixed them. No Melvin s on this job. Got to much pride in my work. Right on Chad.

    When I’ve seen this done before, the technician would go around the care with tape or dots before he would start putting on the skim coat so he could do it all at once and not miss anything. Just and observation. You do it the way you want to do it. Roger in Pierre South Dakota

    I’ve been watching you both since the tv show and continue watching. Love this channel. I’ve noticed that some of the trolls have gotten to you guys a few times and I understand that. You put on a great channel and show folks it’s possible to do these things in a way the average guy can go do at home in his garage. I love this aspect of not having all the fandango tools that a specialized shop has. They normally do one process, not full builds. You do full builds with your hands and basic tools we can all get hands on. Thanks and keep up the amazing channel!!!!

    I used to paint interiors of homes and when I was ready to final fill a wall , I would take a small piece of the painters tape and put it next to the spot that needed work, that way , you don't have to search all over while the fill is hardening. You can use this idea or not, up to you, I would not use masking tape or anything else, it can leave sticky residue.

    • @raymorrison919
      @raymorrison919 2 года назад

      that is exactly what I did with my boat, heaps easier especially if your chasing pin holes and I used tape that has not got as much sticky residue

      That's why 3M invented the blue painter's tape so it don't leave the residue. It was invented in 1988 when it first came out it was very expensive for us body guy's. Until compedaters came out with other tapes, but 3M blue tape is the best in my opinion.

      I think if you went to auto body school , you might have a different opinion of some of the "repairs and painting" done by the RUclips people. The thing about new shiny paint is that it fools you into thinking everything is good...but it's only good if what's under the paint was done properly...that's the difference between a repair that lasts five years or more...and one that lasts 6 months.

    Check out Uncle Tony's video on using a welder to recover a dead battery. You might bring back a few of those batteries. Down here, the price on batteries has spiked quite a bit. 3 months sitting is a long time for a lead-acid battery, good idea to get a couple of battery tenders and rotate them around the fleet.

    Do you think that being plastic parts it needs a additive to the paint to be flexible? That's why the paint cracks after it's applied is because the plastic expands and contracts at a different rate than the paint. After enough time goes by it will soon craft through to the paint. I'm pretty sure you won't listen to any of this but I figured I'd mention it anyway. Throw it away if you like.

      That's the point I just made on this site. We used Featherfill in the 80's on Corvettes that had cracked lacquer paint...but Corvettes are fiberglass not flexible plastic. Featherfill is like concrete, and there is no flex additive because it's essentially grey fiberglass resin...so how long will concrete stay good when you pour it over a base of marshmallows? It would seem to me that Chad ( and guys like him) a) never went to school to learn...or...b) went to school but wouldn't listen...or...c) are self deceived crooks.

    • @XCHANGEDAVE
      @XCHANGEDAVE 2 года назад

      When they paint plastic bumpers on Modern cars they have to add a additive to make the paint flexible, this helps with the coeffusion of the plastic to paint ratio.
