@@troymiller319 And now we live in a world where artists make either fraction of pennies from streaming or nothing from people who pirate, so unless they're already massive household names they make no money from their music "sales" and it's unsustainable.
What people often don't understand is that when big musicians complain about these things they're not exclusively talking about their bottom line, but it's also about the implications for the industry as a whole and what it means for everyone else who's hasn't already made millions.
It's more nuanced than just "very rich guy is grumpy because he wants to get more rich" and the current landscape proves Lars was at least partially right.

2 years ago I took my father to see Metallica at Boston Calling for his first show. I posted a comment on their video from Ride the Lightning at that show describing his enthusiasm. Needless to say when this tour was announced I purchased tickets immediately. My dad was equally excited about seeing them again, he was one again blown away by Metallica's show. Every time James asked the crowd to yell there was my dad yelling back in full force. We both had an amazing time, so proud to say that my dad at 75 has been to multiple Metallica shows.

I saw them last year in montreal and last week in edmonton. They are super tight but they also have a few flubs. Makes me feel not so bad for my own live mistakes lol
I was there and glad they played this! My mom got me a ticket to see Metallica at Gillette. One of the last things she ever gave me, and when this started I felt her presence. This was one of her favorite Metallica songs.

That’s insane. I’ve seen them 10 times, (but only once since 1994). Every time was like $30 lol. And great seats, band in their prime. Great memories. Concert tickets are absolutely insane these days and as much as I love this band, I’d never pay $600 to see any band.

I've been a fan of Metallica for most of my life. So much of what metal music is, is a vibe. It was really amazing to see the guys so vibrant and sounding so crisp and clearly having a blast.

I was there in the nose bleeds, the visual effects on the tower screens were incredible. This video doesn’t capture what I saw live from above. If you liked this video you have to see Metallica live, there is no comparison.

I like that Metallica uploads every concert video. Instead of having shitty cellphone recordings we have the best quality. Also, I am pretty sure it encourages people to watch and enjoy the concert and not to record the show.

Omg I think we all just witnessed a supersonic flying 360 camera. How on earth did they get that camera in each position so quickly, including through the stage floor?! I’ve seen 360 cam videos that look like a cute little novelty, but THAT is how it should be done (however they did it, 😂). Totally cinematic!

I saw Metallica in 86 opening for Ozzy. It completely blew my mind. Been my absolute favorite band since. 38 years later, my son and I were at this show, now they're my son's favorite band.

Tickets are expensive for any show but, I don't think they ripped-off fans. I had a presale code and paid $200 to sit in Section 109, row 26. I was practically on the stage. Of course, Ticket Master threw on another $80 in fees. Friends who saw Beyonce paid $400 for a 300 section seat.
