I'm so glad CC4 and IC8 are finally released - PROPS, Reallusion for all the great work your doing! I'm currently trying to develop a decent Blender -> CC4 workflow using your new trials. I created a simple character, and I'm ready to create a rig to then import into CC4. When you say "default Blender bone structure", which "rig method" are you referring to? I'm currently using the AutoRig Pro addon to create my rigs, which works really nicely for me. Is AutoRig Pro's rig setup currently supported, or are you referring to Blender's "native" Rigify method of rig generation? I'm mostly a scifi modeler (spaceships, tech hardware etc.,) but in secret, I've always desired to be a character modeler and CC3, and especially now CC4 / IC8 has me ENTHUSED enough to finally spend some time trying to create simple characters I can bring into your software to get them moving around! Any Blender rigging tutorials or pointers are def appreciated!
I used blender's Human(Meta-Rig) and Basic Human(Meta-Rig) was successful! I think you can find the answer at 00:59 If that doesn't work, there is another video on manual bone mapping that you can see.

In some cases, CC4 does not identify mixamo rigs and wont auto assign the bones. Manual mapping is tricky cuz there are extra bones to work with and nowhere to assign them in the Characterization panel!

Can you perhaps add a better or more precise way to make the T-pose for imported characters like a reference preview or something? At least, we need to be able to have symmetry when adjusting the bones to get exact sides. I'm getting invisible clothes and accessories sometimes. Anyone knows the issue? IClone 7 projects change when using iClone 8 like the poses of the characters, invisible clothes and such. Probably because the motion system was changed a lot. Any fix? Too many bugs here and there that I'd like to report. It's not as stable and quick as cc3 and iclone 7. The smart gallery is making the saving process for motions a lot slower for me. Did you remove python support from iClone 8?

Hello I have a question regarding the face, If I have a custom character do I need to make the blendshapes manually and then be able to use them inside CC4 or is there a workaround?
With this work with Auto Rig Pro? I have a Blender Meta Rig character (done by another artist with proper rigging, etc.) and when I brought into Iclone, the SELECT CHARACTER PROFILE window never popped up and there were major animation issues, facial animation would not work, etc. Any ideas?
@@armondtanz It's part of CC4 now so that's even better and it Auto Imports your model. There is an AI 'Motion Director' in the the new Reallusion software.

Just tried to load a G8F character in CC 4.01. I am unable to pose the imported figure. after a few minutes CC4 crashed.

Try to map the main 15 bones, and just ignore the extra bones. I guess the character can be driven still.
