I've been meaning to do this to my Go_1 but not sure which Distro to use. I have Cinnamon-Mint 21.2 currently installed in my laptop and I love it, but not sure if Mint will work as well on a touch screen... ...and then I also want to try Garuda Linux Dragonized coz it looks so cool and sexy but again not sure if it'll work well on touch screen. Mint seems OK booting via the usb live installation, haven't made full install yet...but I want Garuda Dragonized, any thoughts? Awesome video btw.
Running Mint 21.3 Cinnamon on Surface Go 2 and everything works great, including touch screen. Go for it, you'll love it. Getting ready to upgrade to Mint 22 Cinnamon.
I have a Surface Go 3 LTE. 1. Secureboot does not work for everyone. I ended up stuck at Windows logo after restarting i.e. no blue screen, and have to reinstall Ubuntu from scratch. 2. My tablet has a sim card slot for cellular data which does not work anymore after installing Ubuntu. I found some instructions online, but can't understand them e.g. it says create a new file and I don't know how to do that as I am very new to Linux. Anyway, I have the basic Ubuntu working.
Can you please what tell me what Ubuntu version do you used? Mine won't boot up (tried LTS, newest Version, used Rufus and BalenaEtcher, also different sticks and adapters). It boots a Windows-Live-Stick without problems, so it shouldn't be an UEFI configuration problem - I guess. I am stucked, any suggestion would be helpful.
Got it. Startet with Win11, there is a UEFI toggle (Advanced Options) for "Enable Boot Configuration Lock" -> Disable. Also tried an different USB-Stick (third one). Not sure exactly the reason, why GRUB didn't come up before...
Did you delete all partitions when you installed or did you leave the UEFI partition alone? Unlike with a normal PC, I can’t erase the UEFI partition. I am wondering what the consequences will be for the installation. Fedora 39:Workstation…
I found out that I could do it in Windows as I have a license for EasyUEFI. I was then able to delete all of the other partitions in Fedora and the Fedora installer created a complete set of new partitions (including EFI) and I was able to use all of the available disk space to install Fedora.
Thanks for your video , :) what do you think about general use for a long period of time? is it enough powerfull ? is it deliver a good experience ? I'm asking because this sueface go fit my need for a linux tablet and i hesitete to buy one :)
Once my house has been renovated, I'll make a video. In short: no real issues, once everything has been set up properly. The main problem: some of the gnome extensions are not designed for touch input and you need to find creative solutions sometimes.

Does the 4g modem work on the LTE Go 1 variant? I currently use one and I like the device but am not a fan of Win11.
Does Surface pen work on Linux?
I don't have a pen. But from what I've read: yes, it should work.

is it possible to have dual boot and keep windows as well?
Yes, it is.
Has anyone done this on windows 11?
Bro your English is heavy :)
Schade nicht in deutsch
Tja, muss ja nicht immer scherrmään sein. Die Terminaleingaben sind eh international ;-)
