Exactly what I felt while watching: Whenever Rosamund Pike appears in a scene, she has that magical presence that makes you stop breathing. She is an extraordinary charismatic actress, she is just perfect. 👌
Seriously, every time she's onscreen I forget that there are other people in this show. 😆 She's mesmerizing to watch! And don't even get me started on her voice.

When Rosamund/Moiraine channels, it feels different from others, more organic and magical. Not sure if it was a directorial choice to enhance her character but very lovely to watch. Just finished Season 2. What a wonderful actress

This cast is magical, individually and together. Rosamund Pike's involvement is what brought me to the show, and I love her Moiraine. I've also been a fan of Daniel Henney from his previous work, and the EF5 actors have completely won me over. So good!
It is so weird to hear him in an american accent, I really thought he was british and not becuase of the role and accent he has on the show. lollll, there are very few us people in fantasy shows. not complaining tho.

Rosemund definitely is a foundation of the show. As they work on season 2 and learning to work around covid, i hope they get a better chance at making sure their storytelling ‘’marinate” a lil bit more.

Red isn't his natural hair color, though he could have had a hunch by his height and pale skin. Funny though cause Josha said Padan Fain (and Loial) is his fave at the premiere lmao
Please watch Daniel Greene season 1 review… I completely agree with most of his review. Definitely add more episodes to each season to allow for more character and world building. Excellent casting! Looking forward to season 2

Rosamund and Josha have huge weight on their shoulders.... sure the other characters have their moments but those two have the lion's share resting on their performances, but so far they seem to be weathering it well. And I have to say Josha and Madeleine have an amazing chemistry.
Hearing Daniel Henney talk about his experience broke my heart then made me so happy for him. ❤ That was very touching.

Okay, I fell in love with Moiraine, but didn't like the script much. I was thinking to read the books, but as I understood, she's not one of a main characters there, so there is no point, I think. Gosh, I just love Rosamund Pike so much, I think I should just do a marathon of her movies

"Full of metaphors this world" ... couldn't be more accurate. Robert Jordan loved his niche metaphors, so much so that hey created different sets of metaphors for the different cultures. Kudos to Rosamund for recognizing that. I love the casting for Moiraine and Lan, the 3 boys, Padan Fain, and Siuan.
It feels really off that Barney is just basically stricken from all these behind the scenes stuff. I mean, the interviews were made during shooting, so they probably exist. I know the reasons of cause. It just feels a bit too much.

Yea it sucks, I'd had like to see some interviews or some behind the scene clips of him. I assume it has to do with the nature of his departure and maybe theyre salty about it. Hopefully it wasnt on a sour note, but I don't see the show runners being happy and accepting of him leaving before the completion of season 2 unless it was extremely important. It was clear that it messed up the story at the end with him no longer being apart of the show.

@IdleBigots I dont want to throw shade without proof but the way amazon handled it its very likely that it was some very "no no" attitude like sexual harassment or something similar. He wouldnt be outcast so much otherwise (in case of health reasons or family reasons or whatever)
@IdleBigots Rafe said they were lucky he did such an amazing job and one of the producers in an interview said he was a joy to work with and wish him well. Doesn't sound like people he directly worked with had any problems with him.
I just hope he is ok.
They couldn't have done the cast more perfectly. Honestly I love all of them.

The cast is lovely and the show has lots of potential,but please,please,allow Jordan's elaborate story to breath and give them more episodes to develope the characters and the rules of the magic system or it is in danger of becoming really campy and silly,in particular with the strange editing and also the nonsensical and confusing plots like Nynaeve's "revival" from the dead and a circle of just 5 chanellers,3 of them weak destroying Trolloc army instead of the Dragon himself doing that,there will be no tension and no stakes in the later story if this continues
Sorry, the show runners aren't interested in Jordans story, just using the skin of the books to make this garbage.

The Aes Sedai are all supposed to look like old spinster? They legitimately all look like elderly women. That's not how they're described in the books.

@@jst4572 They obviously didn't cast the best person for any of the roles. The casting is atrocious. None of the characters resemble the ones from the books, in any way. Except for, maybe, Rand. They've kept up this trend for season 2. Just look at the casting choice for Aviendha. She looks nothing how Aviendha, or Aiel, are described. It's obvious from the casting choices, story changes, and Rafe's own commentary on social media, they had no intention of doing a faithful adaptation of Jordan's story.

the main guy couldnt even believe himself he was chosen as Rand, well we couldnt neither.
Excellent cast and I have high hopes. Just dont screw it up with poor editing and lack of episodes so you can have some chance to connect to them all. Wheel of Time is all about various characters with different agendas. Season 2 minimum 10 episodes please. Also make the viewers understand how difficult it is to understand and even use the One Power. IOt was shown to casually and easy in Season 1

I can't complain about the cast. They're great. It's the writing and editing that is terrible! This show had so much potential. I don't see it going anywhere.

I understand the disappointed book readers as they were promoting the series, created this huge hype around it and I don't think season 1 lived up to the expectations. I haven't read the books but I think season 1 was average, and episode 8 was pretty bad. Hopefully season 2 will be better. The cast is amazing though.

It was a complete travesty . Those aren’t Jordan’s characters . Almost none of them ask like the character from the books . Such a complete mess
If you haven’t read the books, this might be ok…but most of these characters are so far from the original book’s descriptions. We will see
Perrin is my fav from the 1st book, even tho most people said they didnt do much w him there, He left quiet an impression on me in the first one, maybe cuz i see some of myself in him.
I think he will have a lot more to do in Season 2, when he goes after the horn

great cast and production. but end result was not that great. so many plot holes, untold rules, basic explanations missing. ı know pandemic hit filming of this show but why the rush for unfinished cgi. and ı think if it was 10 episodes show would have been so much better. what is done is done. ı hope they step up in season 2 from being mediocre to an absolute fantastic show.

My feeling is Jordan would be disappointed in these screen versions of his books, I know I am. Either the script writers did not really read the books or the short comings were due to budget or perhaps just the director's poor vision of the stories. Though I do acknowledge that some of the actors have done an awesome Job with the limitations presented.
All of these directors think they know better than the authors/creators. They tend to disdain fantasy anyway. It's also tough when politics take presidence over artistry. In the 80's and even 90's you essentially had no idea what most directors politics were just based on their work. Now they hardly hold back with it.
The cast have been an absolute highlight!
The show is convoluted. Definitely a show for women.

It’s a great cast. Now all they have to do is fire the writers, hire people with talent who actually like WoT, and start again. Maybe in 40 years will get the Villeneuve version.
No hate, but I don't think Daniel Henney is playing the character Lan. I mean in this interview he described he's happy to play someone who's not a sidekick, yet Lan is absolutely a sidekick.
I don't know how much you read of the books, but I can assure you that he won't be the sidekick forever

No not at all . A pov character but not the main
She's not even in the story for most of it. Departs in like book 5 or something and doesn't return till the final chapters of book 13 or so. So yeah, no.
No, Rand is by far the main of the first book and then it gets shared between the Two Rivers folk. Moiraine is important but still a side character.
the most progressive, open minded and inspirational casting of a tv series that I can recall. nobody fits a mould, nobody is perfect, nobody is 'sanitised' for screen.. they all just feel like real people in a real world...and each beautiful in their own way. kudos to the ethics that guided this casting process.

At first I didn’t like Rosamund casting, She just didn’t match what I had in my head nor the physical aspects of the book, BUT, She has changed my mind, the scene with Logan was amazing and she nailed it all

No, they didn't. Read the books. None of the cast remotely resembles the characters from the books.
If I hadn't read the books, I'd have no idea what was going on in this horribly edited and scripted debacle. Having read the books, I know what's going on, but most of it is horribly contrary to the books.
I understand that changes need to be made. The series is too long to have everything adapted to the screen. That said, the changes you have made serve no purpose, destroy characters and character arcs, and have led to a very bland retelling of an amazing story. Seriously amazon, with only 8 episodes, why waste entire episodes on things that never even happened in Eye of the World? You have done these amazing actors a disservice by not letting their characters develop properly.
Either invest the money in a couple more episodes per season, or just cut bait and go home. I'm still watching, but this is like a mildly entertaining CW show for me, not the EPIC I expected and hoped for.
Edit: Moraine is not the lead character, FYI.

"Global Footprint" with our cast...wow, as if THAT is important, WOT has multiple nations and ethnicities, and you could have had all the diversity in the world, which WOULD have made logical sense...but u wanted "diverse case"..
Hopefully they get better writers/ showrunners for upcoming seasons so that the good actors and their characters can actually come through rather than the mess that the show was for the last 2 episodes.
The whole thing was bound to be a mess once amazon got their hands on it.

You missed the mark on season 1...you change too much! You miss what is important and what is not. If I didnt LOVE the books I would have never finished season 1. It was sadly, very frustrating to watch. Get back to the story in the book! There is so much you DO NOT NEED TO MAKE UP elaborate ceremony, such as the horrible Aes Sedai funeral chest pounding. Get back to the books....I cant believe Harriet greenlit some of the changes. The overall change in plot was alright however. That could have went well...but to change the magic system(show what is happening from the point of the character viewing, yes, sometimes you will see no magic BUT you will see the effect still!), to change and make up ceremonies and nonsense...please, please, please, get someone who has read ALL the books and LOVES and respects them to work with the show. Please.

casting is good, but Lord they butchered source material and 8 episode season is a joke...
The actors are fine. The writing is garbage. Toss the show runner. He has massively jacked up the story to the point of being unrecognizable. I cannot believe that Harriet allowed RJs story to be butchered. Not can I believe that Brandon Sanderson's advice was heeded. Don't bother watching. Read the books instead, thank me later.

I think the show casting has been perfect. The show itself has been up and down, probably a lot of that is down to covid, but i think it would benefit from more episodes.
I will never understand why a brunette gets a blond wig and a blond gets a dark brown wig in a movie
Very well casted, really loved it, also the work they put into the costumes and all, I personally think it adds to the realism instead of 3D animated Trolloks.
By far, Rosamund Pike really helped make this series early for me.

This is an extremely watered down game of thrones, not character is even close to a character on the game of thrones, every time you changed scene on that show, you got to see a great character, pretty boring with light action sometimes
I have not a single positive thing to say about this show. It is a horrendous mockery of the books. Why don't more people talk about Lan (a dude who does self deprivation as a way to relax and vacations in the Blight) complaining about cold water? Nyeaneve has literally no descriptive attributes in common with her character. The Two Rivers never sees any immigration in the stories, which really makes the diversity in the show wasted on shoehorning these actors and actresses into roles instead of running into the incredibly ethnically and culturally diverse characters we should have met organically along the way. The show has no redeeming factors as far as I'm concerned.
