They nailed the casting SO WELL in this show. They are all so incredibly talented and engaging. It's honestly astonishing how attached I got to them as a person who hasn't read the books, considering how little time they each got to really LIVE their characters in the show. I know it's behemoth task trying to condense a 13 book series into 7-8 seasons, so worldbuilding and plot are massively important, but with these beloved characters, played by these amazing actors, they NEED to make more time for them to develop and each have their own arcs. Even as a person with secondary knowledge of the WoT, I am shocked that we went the whole first season and they didn't even make it clear that Lan is like the best swordsman who ever lived?? Don't get me wrong, I LOVED his character in the show, he had some great writing to work with (more than most of the others) and killed his acting, but his fighting was honestly displayed as no more deadly than the other warders we see. I know he talked in interviews about this crazy choreography that he had to learn for the Winter's Night scene, but the final edit barely showed any of it. I get they wanted to focus on showing of the channeling, but I don't think showing his prowess would have taken away from that. It's just weird choices like this that I think made the characters feel vague. They are lucky that the actors brought so much life to every scene, leaving us craving more rather than simply not caring about them, haha. I desperately hope that Amazon gives them more episodes after the success of the first season!

Sounds like they knew another season would not be created. This show is another reason why I love acting. It is amazing that they relate to their characters.
Watching episode 8 was like having a conversation with someone who doesn’t really speak your language, but they’ve seen a few commercials. They’re frantically pointing at a hole in the ground and saying, “Eye of the World, Eye of the World!” but then rubbing their stomach and miming driving a car, and you’re not really sure if they’re hungry or if they need gasoline but you’re pretty sure they need help, you want to give it but then they stab you. As you’re bleeding out you realize it was a mugging, but then they join a flash mob and they’re dancing, and you’re just back to being confused.
I binge watched the whole series when it first came out! I read the books as they came out and eagerly awaited the next volume. I really hope Amazon completes the series to the end because there are so many books series that never get completed and the fans feel betrayed. Please please finish now that you've started and don't change the actors!
I really like the series, I just wish they gave us 12 or 13 episodes rather than 8 so they could flesh out some of the characters more and make it a bit more clear what's going on with some of the sub-plots and side characters
I love the cast and acting... but I hate editing, pacing and most of the writing ... I am ok with changes, even with events being merged but I dislike when they rewrite the Lore what makes the wheel of time be the Wheel of time ... as an example,When Rand Asks Moirane " teach me how to channel ?" instead of using the opportunity to explain Saidar and Saidan and have Moirane reply something like " I can't same as fish can't teach a bird to swim!" they have her ranting about Rand going mad if he touches the source ... does Moirane truly think Rand will go mad in next few hours before reaching the Eye of the World? Madness does not happen overnight! makes you think if any of their researchers and writers pay attention to the WOT Lore ... there is so much bad writing ... they need another consultant who read the book because the current one is either ignored or not doing the job well ... Writers are camping up each scene with juvenile dramas and has a hysterical need to have in every scene "Oh my god moment" ... as well as introducing too many fake deaths ... so when someone actually dies it will not feel climatic or real! we are like " yeah it's either a dream or someone is going to bring them back from the dead .... fake dying is happening too often in this series, well except for little girls, Showrunners are obsessed with killing little girls, as well as having things come out of people's mouths! What the show needs is more episodes per season in order to accommodate all the world-building and the lore that is being currently cut out, slow down the pacing, and not cut out the actual Lore ...People don't want to see the Lore explained in some separate media like Xray animated features we want to see it within the actual show!
Overall I enjoyed the season but there are some obvious issues which need addressing as soon as possible. Perrin and Rand's actors mumble their lines too much, it's genuinely hard to understand Perrin half the time. The CGI was mediocre. The sound mixing needs work, like music playing too loudly and drowning out dialogue. The world building needs serious attention. How far are places from each other? How far have the characters travelled? In which direction? Certain things need a lot more context and explanation on the show, they keep saying they made the show so casuals would love it, but then they don't explain things properly and leave people confused. Why give Rand's moment of power to the girls? Why show the Seanchan with zero context or buildup? So many little issues here and there. Again, I still enjoyed it but they really need to pay attention to these things.
It felt rushed and like nothing happened at the same time. Honestly they need a ton of work to make this a good WoT story. I doubt they can do it though the amount of lore and character building they were ok with sacrificing for 1 season of mystery on who is the dragon shows they dont know what theyre doing
@@airdrighmor1439 The CGI certainly isn't top notch, and I'm not the only person saying so. Even the show runners admitted it wasn't up to par dud to covid restrictions, so hopefully from season 2 onwards it'll be good.

"Perfect"? I don't think most fans of the book are going to agree on that. Most of them are good, but they aren't given a ton of room to work considering the story is so botched it barely resembles the source material.

I read the books back in 90's. Now I'm reading them a second time. I'm glad you brought this up. Nynaeve and Egwene didn't really start channeling until the middle of the 2nd book. Having them take out the trolloc army in episode 8 made no sense. That should have been Rand! This is what happens when you condense down the Eye of the World to 8 episodes. The pacing was downright terrible. They should have done 12 episodes.
Amazon I will say this, I love shows where I either love or hate the characters and have a good story line, I like show that only have a good story or good action. You never gave me the time to love or hate the characters, even the main characters, I just saw a scene with, Ran Matt and Perrin about the Badger (in the book) and it showed us the hearts of the characters and you cut it. You have a great story to work from great acting it will be huge if you spend the TIME to develop characters and build the fabulous world, how good would Harry Potter be, without the Wizarding World
Lovely chemistry between the actors. Really too bad Barney departed. For the loss of familiarity it's kinda fitting though, since Matt has alienated himself from the others. The question rises... so how do they re-insert him? Okay, so my guess is that he can still sense the SL-dagger, and tracks it down. He sees Padan taking it from Liandrin and follows him through the Ways. Perhaps they didn't show Padan with the Waygate's leaf because it closed behind him and Matt needs his own way out. Matt stays hidden because he dreads facing his friends. But then Padan makes his move, and Matt decides to reveal himself to Perrin because he is in anguish.
The fact you are basically having to make up a storyline, that in itself is not in any way from the books, to explain one of many huge gaping holes/inconsistencies in Rafe Judkins "adaptation", shows how horribly messed up the end product is. There was a set of multi award winning novels to fall back upon, to enable WoT to resemble GOT seasons 1-6, instead Judkins thought he could do better, so you got a poor man's GoT season 8. But, as long as people like yourself are so easily pleased with the butchering of the novels and horrible script, CGI and holes everywhere, then Amazon get away with this crap.
@@guymatthews9389 Wow, you are so far off the mark. I specifically wrote about how to best deal with the fact that the actor playing Matt left the show. And I never even implied I am "so easily pleased". In fact, even though I did enjoy the show, I too have complaints. And concerns about the next seasons. Spoilers for non-bookreaders: for next season, I am particularly concerned about Rand's storyline, character and skill development, now that he went off alone. As you know, in the books he is in on the hunt for the Horn, and at the end he defeats a blademaster.
@@MrMezmerized The changes in this butchery of a series is going to cause far more problems for books 2 and 3 (and onwards) than just what you've mentioned. Judkins gives every impression of wanting to rewrite EoTW as he wants it, not because of need, but because of "want", without understanding how he now has a series that will slowly unravel ever further from the books well crafted story telling. The Tv series is crap and Jordan would never have allowed it to happen if he were alive. His estate/widow ought to be ashamed of themselves. GoT was brought to screen with minimal changes from the books (again I read them long before the TV series, same with WoT). Judkins changed vast amounts because he wanted to, no other reason.
@@guymatthews9389 Yes I am aware there are more changes that will or may become problematic but obviously Rand's storyline is my primary concern. I don't mind some of the unnecessary changes up until the finale. The biggest problem for me is lack of proper development and pay-off. You can't make "Who is the DR?" (it really should have only been the guys) work well by mainly focusing on Moiraine instead. Not with so little time. Particularly Rand's character is underdeveloped and Perrin... well... And the show will need more fast-tracking of skills, that I think will also annoy non-readers. I haven't seen non-readers that are bothered by what E, N and R can already do. They know nothing about the magic in this world. But weapons... Sure, it makes sense many Emond's Fielders are at least decent with a bow, and it isn't a far stretch that the same goes for staffs (if they aren't surprised and freaked out by to them mythical monsters). But then still, Matt isn't just okay with a staff, and what about his knife skills? Rand can barely hold a sword. Only Perrin was shown to be okay (but he won't fight lol). I really hope they do better and start listening to fan criticism. Though season 2 is already (mostly?) shot.
I understand not telling us why the actor who played Mat left...but not bringing it up at all and him not talking during these videos but still in the background is SO awkward. Can we talk about the elephant in the room. Can you just acknowledge that it will be sad to see him go or that you're looking forward to bringing in the new actor... something, anything! The silence about it just intensifies the focus.

@@willgriff Yes! His portrayal was perfect! I'm gonna have a hard time picturing the new actor as Matt, Barney was a perfect Matt in my eyes. But I definitely will give the new actor a chance. But I know I wouldn't be able to get Barney Harris's Matt out of my mind easily.
Josha is so adorable.
I miss Barney Harris.
Yeah, Barney, Daniel and Rosamund are the stars of season 1 - in that order.
Barney was never even interviewed. Just shown in scenes. Too bad. I am not liking Donal's take on Matt so far in S2
Welcome to The Ways bruh! 🤣🤣🤣
Egwene Al’Vere everybody! 🤣
The actors and actressess all did an amazing job in season one, but the writing needs seriously needs an upgrade.
That welcome to the Ways, bro, took me out. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
DANIEL YOU ARE KILLING IT AS LAN AND THANK GOD FOR YOU!!
This cast is so perfect
@amazon
Give more episodes in Season 2 please. Season 1 felt so rushed! I wish we could get back the parts which were cut out.
Great show, my partner and I looked forward to it every week. We are looking forward to series 2 and hopefully much more.
The cast is amazing! The Amazon Execs who are refusing to extend the episode count are not.
Amazing cast! Can’t wait for season 2!
Sounds like they knew another season would not be created. This show is another reason why I love acting. It is amazing that they relate to their characters.
Gosh losing Barney is just heartbreaking
Watching episode 8 was like having a conversation with someone who doesn’t really speak your language, but they’ve seen a few commercials. They’re frantically pointing at a hole in the ground and saying, “Eye of the World, Eye of the World!” but then rubbing their stomach and miming driving a car, and you’re not really sure if they’re hungry or if they need gasoline but you’re pretty sure they need help, you want to give it but then they stab you. As you’re bleeding out you realize it was a mugging, but then they join a flash mob and they’re dancing, and you’re just back to being confused.
This is the Dragon Age Inquisition we should've had.
Please please please give us more episodes in season 2 🥺
I binge watched the whole series when it first came out! I read the books as they came out and eagerly awaited the next volume. I really hope Amazon completes the series to the end because there are so many books series that never get completed and the fans feel betrayed. Please please finish now that you've started and don't change the actors!
I really like the series, I just wish they gave us 12 or 13 episodes rather than 8 so they could flesh out some of the characters more and make it a bit more clear what's going on with some of the sub-plots and side characters
can we have a whole season of these BTS/the making of the show, with a whole episode or 2 for each topic like costumes, fight scenes, casting etc
Oh my god, please give me more of these
This cast deserved better.
They're so good at their characters. Keen for future seasons.
does anyone knows how the game that they are playing at 2:24 is it called?
Did Amazon deleted part 1?
I was wondering the same thing!
It should in the bonus content on prime if they did.
They did. Probably because of the growing negativity.
It's back up now
this cast is beautiful!
Massive props to all the actors who did their best with an awful script
Even though the show sucks to the core and the portrayal of the characters are way off, it’s good to see the cast being happy.
I can pull off a FAKEABABY fake ultrasound prank on him, LOL!
i'm just so excited for the second season
Bring me the second season the show is insane!
It's so janky I can't even watch it.
The CGI outside 8 is top notch.
@@airdrighmor1439 The CGI certainly isn't top notch, and I'm not the only person saying so. Even the show runners admitted it wasn't up to par dud to covid restrictions, so hopefully from season 2 onwards it'll be good.
@@sneezydeezymcdeluxe7015 for 8, yes. The studio is top notch. There's very little CGI in the first 7. Channeling and not much else. If you are an expert, I'd love your analysis.
Why is the first part of this segment private now? I was watching it yesterday
It's back up on this channel
Shohreh Aghdashloo is in talk with Rafe too hopefully play Cadsuane he. Did say she had been on his mood board since 2018 too play a certain character which doesn't necessarily mean its Cadsuane but i can't really see anyone else as Cadsuane now soo excited for more updates about that
I want that to happen!
Loving the Dragon Age Inquisition music. ☺️
"Perfect"? I don't think most fans of the book are going to agree on that. Most of them are good, but they aren't given a ton of room to work considering the story is so botched it barely resembles the source material.
Where did part one go?
RIP WOT😢 We have failed you. You had The potential to rise to the heavens but we are content with rolling you through the mud, there is but one silver lining, try as they might they can never ruin the books.😎
Ok where did Part 1 go?
It's back up, posted to this channel
Best movie love you🇮🇷🇮🇷❤iran
Season 2 update please ❤
I sincerely wish they would work around the difficulties and bring back Barney Harris. He looks the perfect Mat for the series.
The actors are ok, but season 1 of WoT makes the writers of GoT season 8 look like geniuses.
Why did the village in the beginning have to get BTFOd ? Couldn't Egwene and Nyneave just channeled against a few hundred trollocs?
Yeah, Moiraine should have just linked with them.
@@thegreenxeno9430 And they started the journey to save the people in their village lmao.
@@tomahwakthehawker8725 yea but moiraine couldve just linked with them and killed thousands. In the last episode a weak accepted linked with them and stopped at least 5k
Superb casting.
Horrible casting. Rand is not a transgender black woman
But why get rid of Barney? He was perfect as Mat
Tbh Lan is completely wrong the actor is way to young and not nearly large enough funny they age half the cast and give us a extra young Lan
Cast is absolutely fantastic. I'd find better writers.
How about we find perfect writers instead of Rafe Judkins?
Far from perfect.
LOL some of them sound their character when out of character.
COffee in the same shop as "Rand" will never be the same again.
s2 better be approved cause I was sucked into the story
Thanks for ruining Robert's work.
wait it says part2, where's part1 pls
It’s really weird they keep pulling it
It was just up but it was pulled when I was only halfway through the video
can't find it in my xray either, probably trouble with some techie stuff. Hope they fix it soon
Its back up on this channel
@@goingnonverbal ooh thanks 😁
Amazon I will say this, I love shows where I either love or hate the characters and have a good story line, I like show that only have a good story or good action. You never gave me the time to love or hate the characters, even the main characters, I just saw a scene with, Ran Matt and Perrin about the Badger (in the book) and it showed us the hearts of the characters and you cut it. You have a great story to work from great acting it will be huge if you spend the TIME to develop characters and build the fabulous world, how good would Harry Potter be, without the Wizarding World
Castings not a problem. Writing.... Need a lot of improvement
You have a great cast. How about looking for a better Showrunner.
Ya I agree, how about 10 episodes... At Least... All these new shows with eight episodes, they feel rushed. Or make the episodes longer say 90 mins.
music from dragon age :D
Too bad they couldn’t have this much synergy on the actual final product show
I understand not telling us why the actor who played Mat left...but not bringing it up at all and him not talking during these videos but still in the background is SO awkward.
Can we talk about the elephant in the room. Can you just acknowledge that it will be sad to see him go or that you're looking forward to bringing in the new actor... something, anything! The silence about it just intensifies the focus.
Love Maureen ,
Nynaeve and egwene sizin en büyük hayranınızım.
Yeah Matt was my fav, too bad about that dude.
Barney :(
Actually, the cast was the only thing I really liked about the show apart from the costume and set design. All the actors look exactly as how I imagined the characters to look
Bring Bonnie Harris back
Cast is fantastic but for the love of god fix the writing please
I presume you're still looking?
