    I am super pumped to make some sweet potato ice cream this week! And I had a good chuckle at sweet potatoes becoming anything. It’s like cauliflower got sassy and was all “I can be pizza” and then sweet potatoes was all like “hold my soy milk.” 🤣

But you can also try the hacks in the description box for what to do without an ice cream maker… or make pudding! Super easy to do by just refrigerating instead of freezing. 🤩

    Sweet potatos really came close to not so crystally icecream! Btw have you heard of Two other natural gums that help reduce crystsls? are reduced apple cider vinegar and blended finely chia seed gel or basil seed gel, this is secret ingredient used by manufacturers. Also sunflowers lecithin or sunflower milk is another emulsifisr to lower freezing point. Other ingredients include sunflower butter, tahini or peanut butter🥜

    Is the starch absolutely necessary? If it is, do you think I could just use the soup function on my Vitamix to heat it up instead of cooking it on the stove? I have a Ninja Creami ice cream maker that I will try your recipe(s) in.

    • @LetsEatPlants
      @LetsEatPlants  2 года назад

      I would say it’s not, you could just reduce the plant milk a bit so the mixture is a bit thicker. (Try 1/2 cup less milk to start and then you can always add more back in if needed!) The mixture should be like pudding before adding it to the ice cream machine. 😊😊

    That looks so delicious. How would you change that to be "Butter Pecan" ice cream? What ingredient would you have to change or add? OMG. My husband will freak out if I made him some Butter Pecan ice cream

    • @LetsEatPlants
      @LetsEatPlants  2 года назад +1

      Thank you! Omg, yes, GREAT question!! I was absolutely wondering the same thing while first making this recipe. I think there are a couple things you could do. First, you could use a tiny bit of vegan butter (such as Miyoko's) when you're heating your ingredients. I think only 1 tablespoon or so would be enough. Another would be to use a "butter flavored" coconut oil. I actually used to have one myself and it had a verrrry strong butter flavor (so much so, I ended up giving it away to a friend because it was too strong for everyday use). A 1/2 tablespoon or less of that in here would definitely give it a butter flavor! And lastly would be to add a butter flavoring, similar to the maple flavor I showed in this video. Probably not the "healthiest" thing in the world, but you're only using a tiny amount (maybe 1/2 tsp. or so). I've seen these on Amazon just search "butter flavoring". Some are not vegan, but most are! Hope this helps. 🤗🤗

    Can we make it without an ice cream maker

    • @LetsEatPlants
      @LetsEatPlants  2 года назад +1

      You can! I haven't had _as good_ of results, but here are some tips: you want to stir it frequently during the freezing process. About once every 30 minutes or so. This is to break up the ice crystals. Another way is to freeze it flat in a ziploc bag, and then once it's frozen you can break the chunks into your food processor or blender & pulse to get it smooth again. Here's an article with some more ideas: www.thekitchn.com/the-best-method-making-ice-cream-without-machine-23048248 Enjoy! 😊

    Thanks! Scrumptious vegan ice cream recipe, sans the soy, even if organic, however, which unless fermented, is very unhealthy. Even fermented, not recommended for frequent consumption. Don't take my word for it, do your own research. It will take all of 10 minutes. Food manufacturers don't use it because it's healthy, they use it because it is a cheap surplus crop that yields a wider profit margin than healthier alternatives. While researching, here's another truth nugget: toxicity causes all illness, including cancer, not "infection". Germ theory is BS for immeasurable profit and control for those that perpetuate this false unscientific paradigm. No living pathogenic virus exists in nature. Not one living pathogenic virus has been isolated since the deceptive inception of germ/infection theory. Illness is big business among the mega corporate players, a handful, of which control all food brands, worldwide. More research, that will take all of 5 minutes for those unaware. Lastly, unless organic, ALL food crops, GMO/frankenfood & Non-GMO, in the U.S., are toxic, saturated with glyphosate (RoundUp), a neurotoxin, before harvesting, some more contaminated than others. (See "glyphosate dirty dozen". You can't wash it off. Glyphosate is banned in a number of countries, heavily used in U.S. The primary reason for lab-made frankenfood (GMO) is because they are designed to withstand the pre-harvest saturation of RoundUp. So, GMO food is toxic x2, for RoundUp and because it's not natural and cannot be assimilated properly, when consumed. Chronic illness is not natural and is caused by artificial toxins. I wouldn't have posted this lengthy comment if we aren't smack dab in the middle of critical times directly related to this information, hence, I feel obligated to share it. Be well, be discerning, be free and above all else, remain empathetic. 💚
