Please give us an option to spec a non-hybrid manual transmission.
Also TBH Toyota offering an aftermarket TRD Turbocharger would also be amusing too🤣
That interior shot looks like its from the new Hilux Champ
Every city slicker is going to want this for parking potential and driving here in Toronto is like waging war.
Kirk 🙌🏾 is The GOAT 😊 always the latest and best automotive news 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I’m excited
No infotainment system touch screen, no slushbox, no computer nannies to spoil any fun. I want 2.7 naturally aspirated, 6 speed manual transmission, full-time T-Case with shift lever, locking rear differential, A-Track, 16 inch wheels, A/C, power windows and locks that's about it.
I really prefer to have the spare tire placed at the bottom for a cleaner appearance. But nonetheless, this is a contender for daily driver car!
Dude this video was perfect! Thank you! I have been waiting for this car since the compact cruiser sneak peek!
Is it better to have the spare tire inside or outside and why? Design-wise, spare tire mounted outside looks cool but are they convenient to remove and put back?
Will the ladder frame be fully boxed? Those were the weak points of the 2007-2015 FJ Cruiser, and the current Tacoma.
David said he didn't think it would come to North America. But why would they show that shadow tease during the 250 unveil?
Because the 250 reveal wasn't in USA
Wasn't it in Salt Lake City at the Landcruiser museum
@@RyanLarivee The global reveal and presentation by Toyota executive, Simon Humphries, was in Japan. The Salt Lake reveal was only for North American media. But Toyota would be absolutely crazy to not sell this in America
Ya I just realized that lastnight. Yes we need this rig
I am so down to buy this... if they announce it I am going to my dealer immediately and putting money down
Any chance Toyota would offer two drivetrains? Both the 2.7 N/A 4-cyl and the hybrid option you mentioned?
How about 3 options? An Olds Rocket 455 V8 with a Muncie 4 speed or TH 400 would be excellent drivetrains in this new Land Cruiser. 😉
Most likely that will be the two options for NA. Although a non-hybrid version is becoming more and more unlikely for the new non-refresh models.
Having a stripped down version to actually focus on driving instead of features.
It is going to be released on April 18th in Japan. The price is around 5M yen.
Next year April 18?
@@winterlantern5695 Tomorrow
For real ??
That dash looks exactly like the dj maybe with touchscreen etcétera but the overall location of dashboard looks exactly the same.
With less side window at the back, do you think the rear window will power down into the door or will the spare prevent that option?
Hope this will have electronic front swaybar disconnect.
I’m so excited for this!
Thst blue fj concept is so amazing. And this newer one in yellow jiat seems like a cube.
Fun fact:
The interior render looks like the promotional photos from the Hilux Champ in Thailand
Ladder frame? It looks like there will be a puckup version of this. If they throw in a mid gate on it it would be versatile and the perfect car
Get ready for a two-year wait time. Like for most good Toyota vehicles. (At least that's the wait we have here in Canada)
this is the only saving grace for Honda. People are still buying their cars because wait times for Toyota's are insane. They need to get their act together before Toyota figures out their supply issue.
Slow 2.7 would be a dream for me
Toyota has needed a jimny cruiser for years, about time! This could be a huge sales success
Thanks for the update Kirk. I was super-hyped for this car and so was every other enthusiaste. I hope it doesn't fall short of expectations.
Thai built Champ uses slightly modified Hilux chassis which is built for Asia-Pacific in both L and RHD so makes total sense for FJ to be truly global product... but they'll never be able to satisfy demand!
3-door ver would be cool
When more details come out you get would love to know 1. If they will be made/built in japan 2. If Rear window opens (for my doggies).
Plug-in Hybrid with big battery and power outlets in an off-road vehicle like this would be super attractive to us. 35 kWh and NEMA 5-20 (20A 120V outlets?) Good way to mount antennas like Starlink, too. Yes, most desirable here in northern Utah, too. Towing hitch and hooks, for sure. Don't really need high water fording depth, but ground clearance and large tires are of interest.
That Fj will sell so well in America
And no way it will be marked in America for 30k that’s what a Se Camry goes for. This will at least be 40+
It would start around 25k is my guess
The Land Cruiser Land Cruiser trim makes more since with this Land Cruiser FJ in the picture.
The 2TR is also continuing in the 250 Series as a budget engine, so it will be integrated into the new electrical architecture (huge expense). The T24A would be stellar in this size vehicle.
Don’t CAFE standards make it extremely hard to sell small trucks in the U.S. market? If this is a body-on-frame corolla cross sized suv, I don’t think we will see this in the U.S. unless it gets 35+ mpg. Is that likely on a true 4x4 platform? Hopefully I’m wrong!
You haven’t talked about the price for each trim of the Land Cruiser Prado in the US
