Toyota and Mazda should manufacture their own versions of this same truck together at their plant in Alabama...
@positively_broad_st3780 Now there's an Awesome idea 💡 a joint venture in Alabama!!
Toyota does own part of Mazda
The Maverick sold something like 150k this year. Toyota should definitely bring it here. It would be a huge money grab for them. So many people what small trucks for simple homedepot runs on the weekends.
politicians would probably make it hard for an affordable foreign truck to compete against one like the maverick
@ the Maverick is made in Mexico. I see your point though. Some politician will advocate for Ford before they would Toyota.
@@mikivli that doesn't make any sense when they're not doing that with any of Toyota's other cars
@xzimxzim But isn't the Maverick made in Mexico and Toyota already has a plant in the USA.
@@stephenwierzbicki4463 toyota has 9-10 plants in the USA I believe. I wanna say they only have 1ish in Mexico that make something like the Corolla. I may be wrong though.
no way this comes to the US. Toyota sees the US truck consumer with dollar signs in their eyes. They don't have any plans to offer an affordable truck here.
I will be sad if it end ups like the Ram Rampage and where’s the VW Tarok that the production version hasn’t even been announced in Brazil like after 4 years
@@liveoak7838 it has to come! Ford,Hyundai, and Kia are the only companies with compact pickups!
Cost is the biggest factor. If they can build it here and keep the cost DOWN, it could outsell the Tacoma/4runner. It depends what Toyota wants... marketshare or profit margins.
I’m curious where this would fall in the price range. I feel like Ford’s main sales pitch for the Maverick was “you could get a sedan like a Civic or Corolla, OR for a similar price, you could have a pickup truck! and why wouldn’t you want a pickup truck?”
If Toyota wanted their Stout to compete with the Maverick, it’d have to be similarly priced. Would they cannibalize Corolla sales for the truck? Lower Corolla prices? Improve the Corolla’s value proposition as a proper car?
It was originally about $20K, then with Bidenflation about 23K.
I'll be amazed if it comes in at $24, 900 by the time it gets here.
you're exactly right, seems a no-brainer for toyota to produce/sell a small truck like this.
Stout was the best...we have few here over 30 years old
Thank you so much for your videos! I had a misfortune, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I also created a channel and am trying to move in that direction, but so far not very successful((hhr
I hope this is also for the US market too. I had high hopes for this truck.
with a 25% tariff
@_Marc_D If they sell it here, they will build it here for our market.
I don't think they would do it in Brazilif it was also for North American market. They would have to build it here too
@@fortheloveofnoise Not sure about that the Tacoma is sold here and built in Mexico. The Texas pant is full. Could it be added to the Mazda/Toyota Manufacturing USA plant in Huntsville, Alabama? Maybe?
@@lecoureurdesbois86 The Tacoma is sold here but not built here
By the time that Toyota decides (after years) to offer this in North America, Chinese manufacturers will have 10 different versions available. It may be early in the process, but the writing is on the wall. They _will_ find a way into this market.
The Stout is 😎
Thank you so much for your videos! I had a misfortune, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I also created a channel and am trying to move in that direction, but so far not very successful((fdg
If they make an AWD “truck” like the Ridgeline that has the grand highlander power trains - it will sell better than anything out there comparable.
yeah hearing it will be produced in brazil, I just know there is zero percent change this will be available in the US market.
They could also build it here for our market.
I was just in Argentina.
Little 4 door pickups are all over the place.
VW, Renault , Citron, Fiat, Chevy S10 2 door, .
Where can I post some pictures.
We go a ride in a Hilux 4x4 turbo diesel
Why don't the bring the Champ pickup that they sell in Thailand. I would sell my Subaru and get that if it came to the US.
so there will be subaru baja then. NICE!!!!!
simple, gas truck,cheap reliable da!
If Toyota doesn’t get it here soon, I’ll end up with a Maverick, Scout, or a Telo truck. The Stout has fresh looking design too. Not like your typical clunky boxy brick design like most trucks.
Beat and strongest pick up ever
This needs to come to America before it’s gets too expensive cuz of the TARIFFS
Thank you so much for your videos! I had a misfortune, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I also created a channel and am trying to move in that direction, but so far not very successful((yhg
This would interest me. Toyota reliability and what I view as an interesting design. I don't want a jumbo truck, my disability prevents me from climbing into those. I don't tow or haul. But this mini truck look is nice.
it looks more like a ridgeline for some reason
Toyota would sell them as pancakes here in US. But is no way it comes to states. So sad.
Please keep that thing in South America.
I’d like to know why they’re bringing a corolla PHEV?
The corolla hybrid in low trims is already a better deal than prius if someone needs a cheap hybrid. But the prius offerea more tech and power. However the camry offers a better deal than the prius in my eyes and PHEV is where the prius shines. But add a corolla PHEV and prius will be too expensive in hybrid and PHEV so everyone will opt for camry hybrid of corolla phev and forget about the still slightly odd looking prius with a small trunk.
oh my god, I would do anything for one, ANYTHING
I was so looking forward to this. Knowing it’s made in Brazil means we won’t get it in United States
A vehicle people actually want? no way in hell
Too far out to care maybe. But bring back a small truck please
Toyota's strategy as a global carmanufacturer turns out to be brilliant. Multi pathway environmental solutions, brilliant. Collaboration with Suzuki, Subaru in development of first gen EV'S....brilliant. investing billions in gigacasting, fuel ceel, solid state, bev's 2.0.....also the right decision.
Ev sales collapsed in France, Germany this year, same will happen in the Netherlands next year. Incentives are scrapped, all over Europe. Hybrids are enormous popular.
And best part, Toyota upgrades and improves their cars every year with model updates.
Have to say, compared with a Golf, Astra, or Rensult, a new Toyota CHR or Corolla is way better build, more reliable and far far more efficient.... .
Toyota does a great job.
also doing hydrogen engine also collab with carbon neutral fuel maker, nice
EV market share in Europe has dropped from 14% in 2023 to 13.2% in 2024 - hardly a collapse.
Hybrids are indeed popular, with market share increasing from 28.6% to 33.3%.
Kirk, This faux pickup really needs a better name than Stout. Did another automaker already hold the copyright for Chunky, Dumpy, Thick, Portly, Rotund, Bulky and Corpulent? 😉
They need a long bed Stout. An 8’ bed would create the perfect fleet vehicle.
If they give it the Stout name it's a guaranteed success. I do wish though that it was going to be based on the Camry platform with the 2.5l hybrid powertrain instead of the Corolla's platform. The Camry is faster, larger, and gets better mpg than the Corolla does. But if they made it similar in size to the Tacoma, the Tacoma's sales would fall flat on it's face. So I can see why they're making it smaller. Plus it will be more affordable being based on the Corolla.
give me the toyota hilux champ in canada, would sell like hot cakes!
ew what happened to it? it looks shit now?
Kirk, This Possible Hybrid was it/size closer to the Ridgeline or Maverick or Santa Cruz or the Tacoma 😮2026-2027 😊🇺🇲🇨🇦🤔??
The EPU has the same wheelbase as the Tacoma at 3350mm. It's also built on the same platform as the Land Cruiser SE (GA-L) so it will not be cheap.
Thanks to Elon Musk, Carlos Stavarish and all the other auto executives I will believe it when I see it! Nothing you or anyone else who fancies themselves automotive U Tubes willconvince me otherwise. It's all BS!
Hopefully it looks like a truck and not like a SUV where it's back cut off which is like the Honda and the Hyundai. Those are ugly
It definitely needs a very usable front trunk and the foldable mid gate would be nice (not necessary to keep cost down).
Toyota won't make it a PHEV. Absolutely not. It's too expensive for a cheap vehicle.
"Toyota of America" however...
KIA TASMAN . . .
I thought the baby land cruiser was supposed to be revealed by the end of this year?
I highly doubt the stout will enter the US. Its gonna cannibalize tacoma sales, n toyota doesnt want that. As bad as the taco’s rep is being crapped on, its still king of american midsize pickup.
I also thought it would be a good idea for toyota to bring in the Stout to bring the fight to the Mav and Ridgeline… but then i gave it a second thought in regards to the Taco.
Ofcourse, im happy to be proven wrong.
New Tacoma is a excellent class leading mid size truck and number one selling in its segment as well. Miles better than the old one and opinion of those haters are invalid. Importantly regarding this stout. If ford can offer the f150 ranger and the maverick. Then it should be no problem for Toyota has well but because of one person we might not get this.
@ numbers talk, so if anything, im personally waiting for the end 2025 sales for the taco. Yes, its still king, and on paper, its a far better vehicle than the prev taco. But perception still matters, n i would give it another year. From what i see anyways.
Coz when youre number one, your only competition is your previous self. And the current taco isnt doing so well compared to previous gen. For now atleast.
As for the ranger n mav, again, it comes down to the Taco: should toyota offer another midsize truck if they see Taco sales stagnate in the coming years, so as to supplant it? Or do they risk the Stout eating up taco sales?
Personally? I hope im wrong and they do sell the Stout In the States, like i said in my prev comment. Coz it would be great for customers to have more options, and it would be in line with toyota’s hybrid/full electric powertrain campaign.
@@arsyadidris6349 1. During Q3 TO Q4 Toyota sold 100.661 even without the Dec numbers. Compared to 97.344 2023 again without even the Dec numbers. Fact is Toyota would have sold 200k or more. If not for the change over period something even affected the gm twins at the start. In general the Tacoma will remain the number one selling mid size truck even with the excellent rivals like GM twins. 2. just because bunch of hardcore enthusiast online whining and crying don't mean anything. 3. Stout won't affect the Tacoma sales whatsoever in my opinion. instead it Will very much kill off the Santa Cruz and take lots of maverick hybrid sales away from ford. Overall fact is there is a good chance that the Stout won't even come here because of one policy which you know I am talking about.
A truck of this size, with a midgate, EV with 400 miles of range, which is easily possible engineering wise. Even if it’s 60k. Count me in
God that's ugly
No way. Murica is nothing but huge, ugly, expensive pickups that are just awful.
But Trump is gonna slap a tariff on it
25% or more
The Toyota Stout with sell like hotcakes in the United States
For 60k in 2027...
Bette build it fast otherwise Chinese will copy version, and will be tolate for Toyota.
I think it might be a corolla. truck
That looks awful though . I hope that’s not it . We need more smaller trucks though
Hi Kirk, are there any updates on the mini Land Cruiser?
Its pretty terrible looking why cant it share the tacoma front end bot the car feont end
I like the look of it, but that steering wheel has to go they need a regular steering wheel, it’s weird looking.
Absolutely COOL Toyota STOUT Hybrid Sport!!!!❤❤❤
