Just finished binging your DECONSTRUCTING STYLE playlist, and I sincerely hope your channel blows up. Your commentary on the intersection between art, history, design and fashion is so enjoyable to watch. Can't wait to see what you decide to cover next.
I wish I knew, but I've been seeing a full-circle with younger generations appreciating the early works of Yohji and Margiela. I think we're already seeing that reinterpreted in brands like Peter Do (and soon Helmut Lang) and Ashlyn Park who was a pattern drafter at Yohji. Thank you so much for watching Sam!
I wore a lot of Zoran in the 90s. As simple as the designs were the cut was masterful and very comfortable. His styling was pure and simple, never contrived, as often is the case with weird shaping. Nobody but the most aware knew what you were wearing yet they recognized how “good” it was and I got more compliments when wearing Zoran than any other line. Also, he only did one size. If it didn’t fit you were not meant to wear it. I still could wear any of the pieces, they are the epitome of “timeless”
Great video as always. I was at university (art school) in the late 80s in Australia and the fashion was very various, not at all the one loud version of the 80s that many people now seem think it was.
Wow! Minimalist fashion was so out there in the 80s but it is the blueprint for minimalist fashion.. I definitely prefer the 90s form of minimalist fashion. Thanks for the fabulous video.
Just wow. This video is not random. It's not the most cohesive one, but I adore your connections between different design schools and multiple insights throughout the video!
Not forgetting that Armani changed formal suiting completely width the one button blazer/ jacket. Looks so normal now. He also gave us brown with turquoise. I dressed a fair few men in a An Armani, one button suit with A Paul Smith stripe shirt in blue and cerise. Happy days, those 😊
@@MarysRoom Thank you for putting up such wonderful videos.. I got sick some time ago and so had to give up work.. now I look forward to watching you x
Loved your video on Sade and I think no matter the decade, there will always be a desire for some to have a minimal aesthetic.
Absolutely! I could probably do a deep dive in every decade

I can’t get enough of these videos. I’d love to how you think minimalism will change in years to come or what would you like to see

This was soooooo gooood!!!! Drawing different inspiration while I’m curating my wardrobe, 80’s Armani is at the center of my new style.
Yess! 80s Armani is so overlooked. Thank you for watching❤

Great perspective and I think looking at celebrities and pop culture is only one way of looking at fashion. Thank you for watching!
Yes, same in Canada and everywhere, really.
