I really enjoy how you appreciate and explain fashion within a broad artistic context. Curating a wardrobe is 100 percent artistic self expression. People convey a message and a mood with their clothing choices, whether or not they mean to or realize it. And it absolutely connects with and draws inspiration from other art forms. You’ve quickly become one of my favorite content creators.
Amazing video and yes please do about the 90s minimalism and avant garde. I feel you could also talk about the sometimes problematic adverts trying to be “edgy”
Always get to learn so much beyond the scope of fashion - architecture, art critics, a bit of history and the philosophy behind designs. Love visiting your 'room' Mary ;) x
I admire the amount of intelligence and research and analysis and reflection you put together in each video, especially in drawing parallels between fashion and art and history, and culture; even politics! This is the kind of intellectually stimulating fashion content I wanna see more of on YT, Mary. :)
I like specifically dark minimalism that blends suffistication in every day casual mens outfits tailored to women, I guess thats one way of putting it. The Olsens are a lot more interesting than I realized.
Perhaps the goal of fashion, any fashion, should be to create functional, comfortable, attractive and quality products that don’t need to be tossed after a couple of months of wear. Is that too much to ask? Obviously, yes.
I always felt kitch implied “ugly” in addition to tacky and overdone ad nauseam. An attractive design, such as for example the tank watch, could never be kitch no matter how much it is replicated.
I don't normally find myself watching fashion videos. I find them vapid. But your videos actually focus on the artistic qualities of fashion, and you introduce history in the mix siting various artists to compare and support your point. Your videos are always thoughtful and relaxing to watch. I absolutely appreciate the artform of Avant Garde Minimalism. I've been curious about it for a while and how that looks. If you have any more information about this particular subject, it would be cool to see you explore an entire series of videos. As this feels like a branch that gets neglected by a lot of minimalists. 💖🪷🎶
Another brilliant analysis 👌🏽 you're so good at this, i'm genuinely impressed & intrigued ☺ Thank you for the research you do to seamlessly put these videos together ♡

I agree! Personal style is a form of expression and communication. Thank you so much for watching!

“Low culture is high culture in a postmodernist society” we need a video on this! ❤
Yes, definitely want to film a video on this!

Wow! Big Thank You Mary Ann❤
Just found your channel and I feel like it’s made for me. As an art history grad with a life long live for fashion I’m loving this
What I love about fashion the most is the connection between art and design. Thank you so much for watching!
Excellent video. Much appreciated.
Thank you so much Liesl 💕
Thank you so much for sharing. Happy holidays darling 🎄🎁💕

Thank you so much Erika❤
Your observation about the mature women really resonated with me… what I like to think of as “the relaxed woman”
I love "relaxed woman"❤❤❤
As always a pleasure.
Thank you so much for watching 💕
Excellent video thanks. Enjoyed all the art references.
Thank you so much Nicole🙏
Wonderful vid. Will definitely check out The Row now
Thank you for watching Beena!

I don't know if I have any good advice, because I feel my style is always changing. Really appreciate you watching!

The Olsens are a lot more interesting than I realized.
Yes, who would have thought these former child stars would have such an interesting take on fashion. Thank you for watching!
so thoughtful and accurate
Thank you so much Garret!
Kitch in this context should be a met theme!
I agree about YSL diamond quilt bags looking Chanel. It's a shame because Yves Saint Laurent has a great legacy to take inspiration from.
Great point! Thank you for watching Carmen
I feel like the clothing brand Joseph reminds me a lot of the Row, anyone else thing there’s a resemblance?
Joseph is similar with the knits and minimal aesthetic. Thank you for watching 💕
To add some POC, I'd love a vid on Sade!
Great suggestion, would love to do a deep dive on her style. Thank you for watching 💕

I think it should be too much to ask. Thank you for watching🙏
Oversized anything looks sloppy in my opinion, especially on petite frame.
Great video Mary
Yeah, I struggle to wear the oversized trend as petite. Thank you for watching💕
No way. Mary kate and Ashley themselves has mastered wearing oversized clothing and making it look chic as hell!
I do want to note that yves was obsessed with coco chanel so the resemblance isn’t as jarring to me as it may seem at first glance
