These videos are my new addiction... incredibly well done Mary!!! From the articulation of your ideas to your relaxed tone of voice, to ALL the imagery you edit into the video for our understanding and viewing pleasure... we appreciate you!
The Row collections are rock solid, season after season. It honestly blows my mind. What's odd is that every season, it's more of the same monochrome impeccably tailored silhouettes (though I've been seeing some playfulness here & there & some interestingly constructed designs), yet it manages to consistently be attractive & relevant. I adore this brand, it costs a pretty penny & i've never seen a TR garment in the flesh tbh, but i'm here for the pure visual delight & inspo. I'm just glad that some affordable brands are taking notes. I've got these beautiful Massimo Dutti platform flat flip flop sandals in this lush black soft leather, reminiscent of The Ginza sandals & I love them. I think every high street brand released some sort of dupe of those shoes. My point is, aside from the the premium materials & the care & attention put into each garment, The Row's aesthetic is trickling down to brands a regular Jane can afford & i'm just happy & grateful this brand exists 🥺🖤 Edit : great & clever analysis, please keep them coming ♡ so informative & thought-provoking 👌🏽
You are definitely inspiring me to look at Massimo! I think that's the appeal of The Row for me. It's not about the logo or branding, but how to pair shapes and silhouettes in a comfortable, modern and chic way. I love the tender folds and creases that can add texture and shape in unusual ways. Honestly I think almost anyone that wants to borrow a few items from the men in their family can achieve a similar look. Mary Kate and Ashley notoriously wear more accessible brands like New Balance and Vans, so even the chicest can be humbled. Big thank you for watching🖤
Appreciate the full circle of the art history, creative elements of meaning and deep dive into the definition of minimalism. Definitely opens my eyes to houses like The Row.
Great video Mary. I never really paid attention to Row, but now i looked and i love to get some classic pieces. For my SF climate, i am eyeing their slip dress. Looked through so many, for some reason, even being slip dress it stands out with elegance, well it doesnt look like nightgown🤪🤣 a lot of them do😱 Hopefully it go on sale, on some website. Have a blessed day🙏💗
Haha yes, there really is a fine line between the nightgown and slip dress, but I find a lot of the Row does go in the sales🤞 Thank you so much for watching Giedre❤
Probably the most comprehensive analysis of the design inspiration behind The Row I've seen to date. I loved the art history behind the minimalist/modern design elements and learning, or rather relearning about Purism in art.
Oh my goodness, your conclusion! So beautiful. Your videos are incredibly clever and inspiring. Thanks for elevating RUclips to the highest heights. Sublime.
Can we not give credit to the pattern makers and tailors for this impeccable work!! I am getting back into sewing and it takes incredible skill and talent to execute the finished product. Well done with the breakdown of this video. I appreciate it!
I was a maniac for sewing. I was not a pattern cutter but I used Vogue patterns and bought the best quality fabrics at Marshall Field’s. I would buy a Dior suit pattern and they actually sold lining embossed with Dior in a rainbow of colors. You could spend an hour choosing that perfect button. The department was huge and had so many employees. I can no longer find quality fabric in Chicago. I may try Mood in NYC but ordering online does not make me happy. I like to touch the fabric. I used to come home with my pattern, fabric and notions, riding the L and envisioning the end product.
Honestly that's a tough one. If you have a need or a specific hole on your wardrobe you are trying to fill that's a good place to start. Because the cost is so high, definitely consider cost-per-wear. I always think a wardrobe staple like a cashmere sweater or accessory is a good place to start. Really appreciate you watching!
@@MarysRoom Thank you so much Mary. And if I were to go for a pair of shoes or a bag - which investment piece would you start with? :) And keep up this wonderful content coming in. You're doing such a great job!
Very well researched and presented, I can tell these are such a passion project for you. Keep it up. I appreciate these.

Yes! Thank you! We have been so used to cheap fast fashion, the emphasis on the quality and craft is forgotten. Appreciate you watching❤

"The essence of The Row is the spirit of the modern person today. It is real, it is true, it is honest, it is pure."✨

Your videos are my greatest find! Also the way you pronounce Brancusi is cute. In Romanian (Brancusi was Romanian) we s
Pronounce it as ‘Brancushi’
Ohh yes thank you for the correction Irina
💖
Thank you for watching♥
I would also like to add that some Indigenous peoples, in my opinion have a purist look to their art and clothing.
Ohh yes, such a great point. There is something so honest but also rooted in spirituality. Thank you for watching❤
