If your keywords aren’t optimized, I’m working on a video now showing my keyword research process & how I get my listings to rank on the first page of Etsy. So once that’s out that should help! If it’s because your niche has high competition, you’re going to have to post as many quality listings as possible as quickly as possible to see results. Wishing you success!! 🌱💗 Keep pushing!
If an Etsy seller has plenty of listings but no views and sales, several factors could be at play. Here are some common issues and suggestions to address the issues. 1. Poor SEO (Search Engine Optimization) - Problem: Listings aren't optimized with relevant keywords, so they don't appear in search results. - Solution:Research keywords related to your products using tools like Etsy's search bar, Google Keyword Planner, or third-party tools like Marmalead or eRank. Incorporate these keywords naturally into titles, descriptions, and tags. 2. Ineffective Product Photoshoot - *Problem:* Photos are the first thing shoppers see, and poor-quality images can deter clicks. - **Solution:** Invest in high-quality, clear, and well-lit photos that showcase your product from different angles. Include lifestyle images that show the product in use. 3. **Uncompetitive Pricing** - **Problem:** Prices might be too high compared to similar products, or potential buyers perceive them as too high for the value offered. - **Solution:** Research competitors to ensure your pricing is competitive. If your prices are higher, emphasize what makes your product worth the extra cost. 4. **Weak Product Descriptions** - **Problem:** Descriptions are too short, vague, or don't clearly communicate the benefits and features of the product. - **Solution:** Write detailed descriptions that highlight the benefits, materials, dimensions, and unique selling points. Answer potential questions a buyer might have. 5. **Lack of Social Proof (Reviews, Sales History)** - **Problem:** New shops or products with no reviews can struggle to gain trust from buyers. - **Solution:** Encourage customers to leave reviews after purchase. If you’re new, you might consider offering discounts or promotions to generate initial sales and reviews. 6. **Low Shop or Product Visibility** - **Problem:** The shop is not being promoted, so few people know it exists. - **Solution:** Use social media, Etsy ads, and other marketing channels to drive traffic to your shop. Participate in Etsy teams, forums, and promotions to increase visibility. 7. **Niche Market or Saturation** - **Problem:** The product might be in a highly saturated market, or it's too niche with limited demand. - **Solution:** If your market is saturated, consider differentiating your product through design, materials, or target audience. If it’s too niche, broaden your product range to appeal to a wider audience. 8. **Shop Policies and Trust Factors** - **Problem:** Lack of clear policies, an incomplete shop profile, or no "About" section can deter potential buyers. - **Solution:** Ensure your shop policies, shipping information, and "About" section are complete and transparent. Show your story, process, and passion behind your products to build trust. 9. **Inefficient Use of Etsy Ads** - **Problem:** Using Etsy ads without a clear strategy can result in wasted spending without returns. - **Solution:** Test Etsy ads with a small budget, targeting specific keywords and analyzing which listings perform well. Adjust based on results. By addressing these areas, an Etsy seller can improve the visibility and appeal of their listings, leading to more views and, ultimately, sales.

hey! The cost to start a brand new Etsy shop is $15, although this is a relatively new fee so when I started my own shop last year, I didn't have to pay the fee. I will definitely be putting out more step by step tutorials related to starting a brand new shop. ❤️
I started my Etsy shop around a week ago and I only have one sale. To any other Etsy sellers, I would appreciate any feedback/criticism for my shop. I'm not sure what to sell tbh, I thought invites would be good but now I think it's too competitive. Do you think sticking to one niche (ex. planners) is bad?
@@ThePrintableScholar one sale in your first week is better than I did on my first shop! I got my first sale day 8. It can be slow at first, but as the weeks go one everything will compound! I like to think of a “niche” as the person you’re selling to rather than the thing you’re selling. Every planner isn’t for everyone, for example, but if I create a shop for teachers, I could create the perfect teacher planner, classroom affirmation posters, print on demand teacher t-shirts, student icebreaker worksheets, etc. That way the teacher will want to come back to buy. If I’m creating invites, I’d probably pick a particular event (like a baby shower or bridal shower, for example) and try to think of what else I could sell to someone preparing for that event. (Printable games, printable mock tail menus, etc) If u need more help with your shop, I offer one in one consultations a few times a week. How many did you create? And about how many products do you have listed on your store now? 100-300? 300-600? Just curious how many products you have listed for about the income you’re making! Thank you tatyana for you amazing videos!❤
@@samaraujo6395 i currently have about 70 to 80 products listed on my store, but some of those products are bundles that have multiple resources/ tools/ templates included. The number of products you should create will depend on your niche & what exactly you’re offering on your shop. If you are selling digital products of some kind, I’d say 5 to 7 in the first 2 weeks would be ideal. You could always achieve this by creating 3 products, then selling duplicates with different color variations and then making a “whole store bundle” that you update as you go. I personally couldn’t realistically keep up with a pace any faster than one product every 3 days, and that’s really pushing it. Quality is always the most important factor. Thanks for your question & feel free to update me on your progress as you go!! I’m excited for you!! 🥳🩵
@@TatyanaSavage for each product, do you include all 10 available photos that Etsy allows? Do you include a video in each one? And for each separate listing, other than the promo code and FAQ’s, do you create unique photos every time for the other 8? Of course each photo has to include each unique template you created but for example, I have seen some extremely successful stores use the exact same couple of mockup photos say a picture portrait with a nice background and simply change the template in the portrait to save time. They don’t use the exact same ones every single listing, but for the most part most of them are the exact same only template changed.
So how do I start the Etsy shop because I downloaded Etsy a long time ago but that was just to buy products. And on the Etsy seller it says there is no shop listed. Do I have to go through a url or the app?
sorry to keep bugging lol but I am currently at the part where I should be stalking my competition… I’ve started doing this, but when I do I get discouraged more than anything lol. Feeling like I’m not as creative or there’s no way my shop will do numbers like theirs. How do I shake this mindset
I've been there. Don't overwhelm yourself too much with stalking your competitors! Just pick one shop that you aspire to be like, and start by creating your own version of one of their best-selling products (but make it even better). This whole journey has to be taken one step at a time. You've got this! ❤️
@@fewsproducts yep! This strategy is great for all kinds of Etsy sellers, the only thing to take into consideration is that the speed at which you can create your products will determine how frequently you can post new listings
I heard if u hav different variations on an item, that etsy still charge u per variation vs instead of one sjngle charge. Is this tru. I hav different variations (sizes) on some of my products.
Good question! The answer is a little complicated. So you only get charged extra if a buyer purchases multiple versions of that item. If a buyer purchases the pink version of your product, for example, you will get charged one 20 cent fee. But if the buyer purchases your pink, green, and blue versions of your product- you will get charged a 20 cent fee per item. (Which comes out to 60 cents in this case where the buyer purchased 3 items) Hope that answers your question! 💗
@@TatyanaSavage yes that answers it. I have to go back and do a deep dive into their policy too because so many platforms changing their policy. Thank u so much for your help. God bless you
There are lots of shops that do it, but technically it’s not allowed and Etsy has been cracking down on sellers who aren’t abiding by their policies. If I may ask, what type of products are you selling?
If an Etsy seller has plenty of listings but no views and sales, several factors could be at play. Here are some common issues and suggestions to address the issues. 1. Poor SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

- **Problem:** Descriptions are too short, vague, or don't clearly communicate the benefits and features of the product.
- **Solution:** Write detailed descriptions that highlight the benefits, materials, dimensions, and unique selling points. Answer potential questions a buyer might have.
5. **Lack of Social Proof (Reviews, Sales History)**
- **Problem:** New shops or products with no reviews can struggle to gain trust from buyers.
- **Solution:** Encourage customers to leave reviews after purchase. If you’re new, you might consider offering discounts or promotions to generate initial sales and reviews.
6. **Low Shop or Product Visibility**
- **Problem:** The shop is not being promoted, so few people know it exists.

@@danielle9000 I’m happy to help! The way I do it, I create a document and paste the link to multiple templates in the document then save the document as a PDF. That’s the PDF the customer receives when they purchase my product. That way the customer can access each template I’ve created for the bundle.
Great step by step guide!😊
This is so helpful! Thank you so much for sharing. Yes, to the Etsy covers, please. ❤
I started my Etsy shop selling apparel but haven’t made any sells. Can I convert that store to a digital product store?
@@TASHAARENEE sure! Just make sure you erase all of your other listings so that Etsy doesn’t get confused about who to show your shop to
Do u have anything on how to create a Etsy shop and what is the cost , I am so new to these things
hey! The cost to start a brand new Etsy shop is $15, although this is a relatively new fee so when I started my own shop last year, I didn't have to pay the fee. I will definitely be putting out more step by step tutorials related to starting a brand new shop. ❤️
@@TatyanaSavageit’s now 29$

@@ArtbyAyanna ❤️ thank you!

(Printable games, printable mock tail menus, etc)
If u need more help with your shop, I offer one in one consultations a few times a week. You can always shoot me an email at theruchgirlnextdoor@gmail.com and I’d be happy to set up a time with you! ❤️
Wishing you success!!
@@TatyanaSavage lol, thank you for the in-depth reply. That sale was actually from a family member. Thank you very much for your analogy. I think I might re-brand my shop and change a few listings around to theme down. Wishing you more success too! :)
@@ThePrintableScholar a sale is a sale- family or otherwise. make sure to ask them to leave you a good review! & no worries. I’m happy to add videos based on requests so feel free to pop back in if you need any tutorials or guides!
@@TatyanaSavage Thank you very much, I'll definitely be back :)
How many products do you recommend creating within the first 2 weeks?Obviously as many as possible but many products exactly do you think would be good?
It's easiest if you start your shop from a laptop or computer rather than a phone!
sorry to keep bugging lol but I am currently at the part where I should be stalking my competition… I’ve started doing this, but when I do I get discouraged more than anything lol.
@@TatyanaSavage thank you for the encouragement! Been working on my branding and have some products in the works 🥳🥳

@@less_thanONEmin no worries! ❤️
Can this be use for t-shirts?
@@fewsproducts yep! This strategy is great for all kinds of Etsy sellers, the only thing to take into consideration is that the speed at which you can create your products will determine how frequently you can post new listings
@@TatyanaSavage thank you!
(Which comes out to 60 cents in this case where the buyer purchased 3 items)
Hope that answers your question! 💗
@@TatyanaSavage yes that answers it. I have to go back and do a deep dive into their policy too because so many platforms changing their policy. Thank u so much for your help. God bless you
Can i drop ship from ali express
There are lots of shops that do it, but technically it’s not allowed and Etsy has been cracking down on sellers who aren’t abiding by their policies.
If you’re interested in creating a low-maintenance Etsy shop, selling medium content books through a print on demand service is an option that IS compliant with Etsy’s rules. I’m actually going to be making a video trying to sell medium content books soon so you’ll be able to see my results!
