I can perfectly picture my parents dancing cheek to cheek in the living room while this played by the low light of the TV. Brings tears to my eyes thinking about how much America has lost.
Wow, never heard Don playing this before. Such a treat! The english governor of the brass violin conducted by Henri Mancini himself. What a treat! Thank you so much for bringing this to light after all these decades. ❤
Henry MANCINI: You’re welcome 😉

2:10 I just LOVE the sound of a trombone choir!
Just beautiful. Amazing times. Thanks for sharing. Nobody arranged like Mancini.
It’s a beautiful song and I must point out that if this was November of ‘64, then The Beatles recorded it earlier in July of 1963 on their With The Beatles album. The song was written by Meredith Willson for the 1957 musical The Music Man and also appeared in the 1962 film. Paul McCartney, however, knew the song through Peggy Lee’s 1958 version.
The King of Brass. The human voice - full of bliss and vibrato - the bone does that and more!
I love Mancini music what a genius he was!❤
