Yeah, definitely love ELO's Time album. The way life's meant to be is a good song along with "the lights go down".

    ELO brilliant!
    Your reaction: Brilliant!
This is s great rabbit hole for you Cynthia
You should also reaction to Jeff Lynne's ELO live.
Jeff is the founder and lead singer and he bought the rights to the name from the retired band members, Richard Tandy still plays keyboards in the band, they play the old ELO tracks live, the size of the group is bigger, and it sounds awesome

They played this tune live (in 2018 or so) at Wembley stadium in London. A seventies band still going strong.

Always nice to return to this amazing space on the internet. Symphonic Pop is how I would categorize ELO. My 3 favorite ELO songs are Telephone Line, Don't Bring Me Down and Cant Get It Out Of My Head. In case you are thinking of rabbit holing ELO, one of the 1970's biggest bands. Maybe this time next year we will be wishing you a Happy Mothers Day!! (it's tomorrow here in America) Take care Cyn Cyn. Your pal, Rick

Great reaction. This came out when I was in 9th grade around the time of my first girlfriend so of course I'm biased but I have been following them of course before that because they were on the radio all the time. But this album seem to be a really Progressive album for the time. If you like that, I would definitely say check out mr. Blue Sky, which I think is the title track. It's so hilarious cuz they're like celebrating the sun coming up after a dark night, but then at the end the sun goes down and they're missing the sun passing.❤

Hi Steve, I think you're confusing a couple of ELO albums. *"Mr. Blue Sky",* the song was not the title track of the 1977 album on which it was originally released. The the album was called, Out of The Blue, and there was no title track. Decades later, in 2012, Jeff Lynne put out an ELO compilation album called, Mr. Blue Sky, which contained many of the band's greatest hits. Well, sort of. They weren't the original songs. Jeff re-made them, playing all the instruments himself, as he was unhappy with the fidelity of the original recordings, and thought he could improve upon them with modern recording equipment and technology. Ummm, yeah...no...he was wrong. Not only are none of the remakes improvements of the originals, every one of them falls well short of attaining the brilliance of the originals. The project was either a money grab, or Jeff is just an unapologetic and compulsive tinkerer -- like George Lucas with his "Special Editions" of the original trilogy of Star Wars pictures that not only failed to improve on the originals but diminished, sometimes egregiously, the masterpieces the originals were and still are.

You can't get full effect of ELO until you watch a concert video.
