  • I always tell you guys that Greek Mythology is a wild place to exist but - surprisingly - this is one of the more tame stories. Compared to Pasiphae begging Daedalus to make her a bull costume so she can hook up with a LITERAL bull and Achilles having a conversation about his fate with his horse (and yes the horse replies) ... I don't know about you, but I think a flying golden ram is completely plausible and rational. Stranger things have indeed happened.

Trust me, the ancient world isn’t as boring as you may think. In this series, I'll be talking you through the basic plot of The Arognautica: the only full written source of Jason's mythology to go to Colchis and retrieve the Golden Fleece ... and, obviously, Medea.

I never knew the ram had wings! Isn’t Poseidon also Pegasus’ father? I guess there’s some wing genes in that pool 😝

Similar to the story about the Hellespont. The story about how Byzantium got its name (a myth most likely) was at the time a village, was founded by a blind man named Byzantius (iirc) The moral being because he was blind he would have known that the other side the straight would have been a better location

Why do you think the greeks were so obsessed with the concept of metamorphosis into animals? It has to have some significance.
