I've read the four books by Jennifer Saint. They are well crafted books and extremely easy to read. The storyline is easy to comprehend and to be able to enjoy. I tried to read these stories as a teenager but had tremendous difficulty with the text and I had a scientific leaning which took over my life. I would declare that anybody who is hesitant about reading these books will be pleasantly surprised at the accessibility of these myths in the manner that they are told by this author. I would highly recommend.
I’ve read them too and loved them so much 🤍
I would love to see Jennifer Saint write a book about Medusa and write one for Hades and Persephone ❤
👀
It is amazing what you do! As Greek, I thank you very much!
Thank you 🥹🙏
I just finished the book and absolutely LOVED it ❤ such a great and unexpected ending. Loved the bit about Terry Pratchett as well 😊
🤩
Will finish this one after I have actually read the book, but really enjoy the conversation already!
Finished reading Hera this afternoon, a wonderful book, the last three chapters were so emotional and nothing like I have ever read in any greek mythology story or retelling before. I'm a grown man driving home from work teary eyed listening 😂. I loved how Hephaestus is portrayed in the book, everyone roots for an underdog!
Erica, have you read/reviewed 'God of Fire' by Helen Steadman? This will be my next read 😊
I have not yet read “God Of Fire”! It’s been on my TBR for years now though 👀
Fascinating! Wonder if Hera could have faint echo of primordial Feminine principle or Mother goddess across civilizations in mystic mist of time !!
Can you do Norse or other mythologies in the future? You explain it all so well
I literally do not know a single thing about Norse mythology, but I can see if I can get some guests on in the future to talk about it!
I just got the book in the mail today! So excited to read it. Thanks for the spoiler alert!! Will stop now and come back to this video when I’m done with the book 🥰
I’m in the middle of reading Hera and loving it so much. While reading it I thought of some Taylor Swift’s songs and when Jennifer mentioned that she listened to Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve ( for me this is the most superior Taylor Swift song- and I’m a huge Swiftie ) I jumped of joy because my two loves come together.
I hope the next Jennifer’s book will be about Cassandra ( it’s a new Taylor’s song )
Cassandra was a main character in Elektra!
It took a lot of strength to leave before the spoilers 🥺🥺
You can always come back when you finish the book 🥺
Kudos.
Well, the Greeks had six goddesses and six gods in their Pantheon. And the goddesses represented better qualities and attributes including agriculture, hunting, wisdom and beauty.
Hera was both sister and wife to Zeus, implying archaic epochs of free love, when the incest taboo did not apply.
