@TheFirstCurse1 I've been lit up by police helicopters up in the hills of Southern California in my baja bug... they will get on the loudspeaker to say to drive out to the roads but i never did. One of my old buddies told me that the interstate is the worst place to be to escape, you want to get into narrow side roads. I think regardless once they get the helicopter it's game over unless you can break line of sight for long enough. Making a break on foot is definitely game over with how good thermal cameras have gotten.
The best way to lose a chopper is in the city area. The line of sight is much lower due to the congestion of the buildings and also Helis are unable to fly at a low altitude. The interstate can only work if you have a bike or a car fast enough to lose the chopper. They can't keep up at a high rate of speed. Not sure if you saw the one with the guy in a Hellcat and he smoked the heli in a matter of minutes on the highway. Thermals in residential are gameover.

A lot of higher-end models have lane assistance, "helping" the driver by keeping the car in its lane if it drifts to the line. It gets disconnected when the turn signal is active. That might be why he's using his turn signal, because he doesn't know how to turn lane assist off and it's the only way to keep the car from fighting him

11:55 fun fact in most places they don't need a warrant if you're in an active chase and hop into a random property, however if they already lost you and it's later in the week they can't just come get you from a house without a warrant

Highest success is get to the most densely populated area with buildings and parking garages. Pull in to a parking garage.. enter a building through the lowest floor/basement level and blend in. I know i know...conditions need to be just right for success but thats the best chance in my opinion
I witnessed the end of a police chase when I was younger, probably around 12-13 years old. I was in the back of parking lot at a grocery store with my mom waiting for my grandma to pick us up for the weekend. We were outside the car and heard approaching sirens. There was an elevated bridge right before the turn in to the store, and we saw a white pickup truck come over the crest of the bridge hauling ass, followed shortly by about 25 police cars. As we all realized what was happening, we saw the truck turn right into the parking lot we were in! He drove to the other end of the parking lot and tried to jump a curb to get out, but the smaller white pickup truck high centered in the garden he was trying to get through. Cops all jumped out with guns drawn and ripped him out of the vehicle and then cuffed him and put him into the back of a cop car. I’ll never forget that wild scene.

8:06 There's actually quite a bit of nature and open space near LA, but there aren't a lot of trees due to the semi-arid climate. I think there are a few actual woods but they're small and isolated, not really big enough to get lost in--the cops could easily surround and sweep through them pretty quickly.
Also hiding in the woods is probably the most stupid idea as all police helicopters are equipped with thermal cameras. He would be found in a matter of seconds. Your best bet to escape would be to go in a underground parking and just walk away.

The person who suggested bailing and heading for the "woods" is in need of an update. The police chopper will have at least IR if not thermal cameras as well, meaning that being in the woods would make the vehicle occupants the only heat source or IR source of note, in a location lacking other people. The best thing to do, in fact, is break line of sight with the pursuing choppers at a time when ground units are not close on ones tail, bail, and find a large mass of people to blend in with, making it basically impossible for the chopper crew to ID them among the other sources of IR reflection and thermal mass.
Make a beeline to the nearest mall or even walmart and run inside. Cameras inside can track you but by the time they run the tape you could be out a back door and gone. You'll still get ID'd and a warrant, but you bought some time.

I saw a head on collision on the LA 5 freeway. Now, your probably wondering how can you have a head on collision on the freeway. Car was parked on the shoulder after being pulled over and turns his vehicle into oncoming traffic. The glass turned to powder as the cars hit each other. The terrible sound of the impact. Definitely traumatizing lol
**crawls under an RV, with a police helicopter and news helicopter overhead, while very much illuminated by the LAPD chopper's searchlight** "They'll NEVER find me here!"
As a Los Angeles native, I can confirm this is our favorite pastime (or atleast mine lol). Probably the wildest Ive seen was one where the driver ended up on one of our "rivers" (if you have played GTA5 you know its just concrete). The cop cars didn't follow him into the river so after going further down the riverbed he bailed out. Where he bailed was too steep for him to get out on foot so in his infinite wisdom, he found a man sized drainage pipe and ran inside. Cops eventually got to the pipe and the broadcast continued for probably another 30 mins b4 they called it quits after not finding the guy. For a few weeks I would go online looking for a update if they ever caught the guy but I never found any info about that chase. They probably found the guy and the news didn't report on it but from a viewers perspective the man evaded police, ran into the sewers only to never to be seen or heard from again lol
Many higher-end models include lane assistance, which "helps" the driver by maintaining the car in its lane if it drifts off the line. It disconnects when the turn signal is activated. That could be why he's using his turn signal; he doesn't know how to turn off lane assist, and it's the only way to keep the car from battling him.
The sewers thing is not a bad point at all, in my country, some guys robbed a bank doing that, from the sewers, a tunnel to the bank vault, then did the thing, an went back to the sewers, using a van with a hole in the floor they managed to get from the sewers to a hideout in some minutes.
I asked a rural county deputy if they've ever had anyone in the region get away. He said only once: someone in a Lamborghini SUV driving 200mph down the interstate. Other than that, they don't have to outrun you, they just have to out-drive you. Most chases end in crashes because most people don't know how to drive at high speed and most cars aren't designed for high speed.

Guys, I think it’s trying to tell us that there’s no audio available (I could be wrong. 🤷♀️)
Might just be a suggestion, I’ll ignore it

Bro asked "Why is he running" like he was on call with the driver
You never know, one of these days i could see it happening
That "Idk man i'm not his dad" comment made me lol for real. Doesn't happen alot these days. Thank you
As a Los Angeles native, I can confirm this is our favorite pastime (or atleast mine lol). They probably found the guy and the news didn't report on it but from a viewers perspective the man evaded police, ran into the sewers only to never to be seen or heard from again lol
those polices sure are chasing

I love how every 3-6 months Charlie uploads a police chase reaction, it's the best content
3:28 Anddd, that's a moive right there. Couple kids, bad decisions, massive repercussions. "Bad Decisions."
I needed this video on lunch at work, thank you.

"running into the woods..." So cops pull the thermals? 😂😂😂😂 You literally glow! 🌟 Like a star through the thermals scopes.
Depends on budget constraints in the area. Most rural areas don't have lots of access to pursuit equipment.
Nothing like starting off Saturday morning with a street chase. Los Angeles really is like GTA.
4:44 now that's a lucky dude crossing the road
The sewers thing is not a bad point at all, in my country, some guys robbed a bank doing that, from the sewers, a tunnel to the bank vault, then did the thing, an went back to the sewers, using a van with a hole in the floor they managed to get from the sewers to a hideout in some minutes.

Bot activity from an actual human is sad…
GTA VI's graphics are so realistic that we got Charlie here thinking it's a real life police chase!
"So I'm like 'Wow I'm about to witness something traumatic right here'"
Dude say that back, that sounds like we are all cooked.
What did he mean by this?
@Boneless6065 it was the passe manner in which he said it, like we are all so cynical and hardened to the world's tragedies and ish

By the time you are on TV your chances are pretty slim. Most successful escapes last less than 5-10 minutes.
Am I from the US? - No.
Do I regularly follow US police chases? - No.
Will I click on Charlie's coverage of a police chase? - Absolutely yes.
I wonder if audio is available
i moved to LA and within two weeks witnessed a police chase, insane how frequently they happen down here
Your first mistake was moving to LA.
We got GTA7 before GTA6. Bravo Vince!
At least he didn't collide to anyone or anything.
So glad to see a new police chase video, missed these
I asked a rural county deputy if they've ever had anyone in the region get away. He said only once: someone in a Lamborghini SUV driving 200mph down the interstate. Other than that, they don't have to outrun you, they just have to out-drive you. Most chases end in crashes because most people don't know how to drive at high speed and most cars aren't designed for high speed.
if im ever in a high speed chase i know im watching charlie to tell me what i should do
4:10 I wish we heard what they did
then watch the original video
