Heath Ledger’s Joker is so stunning visually- and in every aspect- that when I see him on the thumbnail of a video, it’s hard for me not to click on it lol
I love the mystery of this Joker. “No matches on prints, DNA, dental. Clothing is custom, no labels. Nothing in his pockets but knives and lint. No name. No other alias.” There’s something so chilling about someone who doesn’t exist but is so present.
That’s the thing about villains like The Joker, their past is a mystery and they don’t care about that, they only want the hero, and the audience, to focus on them in the here and now, and be wary of what could happen in the future.
Watching the transformation of Arthur Fleck to Joker was a real treat. But this is what I'll always think of when I think of the Joker. Ledger can just sit there and he owns the entire scene.
WEll if the new joker is related to the old joker he would have had ID already from the insane asylum . However Batman did have the ability to erase peoples background so why not the Joker? In the end unless the new joker takes some steroids and fighting class heaths joker would pencil attack him.PEN FU .

Look at the look on Ramirez's face as Harvey Dent is driven away. When I first saw the movie I didn't notice it, but after seeing it again it is noticeable. Genius.
We don't talk enough about Ledger's look in this scene. The suit is iconic, but this disheveled look is amazing, rolled up sleeves, vest and sweaty make up.

The thing that makes the Joker so frightening is the fact that no one knows who he is or what his next move will be. He is an unknown variable, and people always fear what they don't understand. Heath Ledger is perfect at portraying that sort of role; almost every line he uses in the movie cause the characters and audience to fear what he'll do next. As the Joker himself says later on, "Nobody panics when things go according to plan, even if the plan is horrifying."
That's actually why this movie was so hard to watch in theaters. The ominous ringing sound would start, filling the theater with uncomfortable vibrations. The music let's you know something bad is about to happen. Joker is not on screen, but you know he is somewhere close by. It was dreadful to endure.
If they removed his make up and took photos and used computers to see how he'd look without his scars, they could've gotten closer to figuring it out. They also could've drugged him, made him delirious and tried to get him to talk. But that's unethical...
I gotta say Joker’s jailbreak here is pretty amazing. He literally has the DA kidnapped so they move him to interrogation, manipulates a guard into trying to beat him up, then blows up a guy to blow the wall. If this isn’t deserving of praise to the Joker idk what is.
Elsa Anna It’s not certain the bullet will hit in the right spot to kill him instantly, sure you’ll hit the head but a skull can stop a handgun bullet if you don’t hit in the right spot, or it might go through but still not kill him quick enough, often fatal injuries won’t stop someone for a few seconds after they happen; of course the most likely place to stop them instantly is the head but a shot that misses the cortex might not do it for certain. There’s also the problem that the dirty cops aren’t allowed to just kill him because of their silly rules, especially if he’s not directly attacking the guy, just threatening.

She is one of the most underrated actors in the film. Her acting at the end with Harvey is just chilling. Her acting afraid was sooooooooooooo believable.

Damn, at the beginning of the clip, when Harvey Dent got into the car, u can see the driver is the same accomplice of the Joker who crashed the party before. You can also see in the face of the girl who opened the door for Dent, that she is betraying him. Didnt notice this till now.

Jim Gordon is such an underrated character. He’s just as clever and resourceful as Batman, just less theatrical. It’s no wonder Batman views Gordon with such respect

The fact that great actors have said they don’t want to play the Joker after Heath Ledger’s performance speaks volumes. He did an amazing job, and really delivered one of the most iconic villians to date. I’m surprised Leto dared to try, and I think his worst fears were realized as soon as the movie got released. Phoenix did a great job as Arthur Fleck, but it felt like a different Joker, even after he embraced the madness. A much better Joker than Leto’s, but he’s just not the same as Ledger’s Joker.
There’s a different shot of him clapping that’s in the trailer, and I always wondered if he’s improvising in the shot that’s in the movie or in the shot that was in the trailer- or another altogether even. Regardless, it’s a great moment, and the fact that it was improvised is sick.
YHG did they specifically say that the shot that made it into the movie was improvised or the concept of The Joker clapping in general? I’m genuinely asking because I’m interested to know whether the shot we see was improvised or if it was other shots of him clapping, which we know do exist from the trailer and prove that they reshot the scene after he improvised it, regardless of which of the shots was improvised
The theory that this version of the Joker is a war veteran falls apart here. I like to think that he was just a regular man and one day he just snapped and became the Joker. The reason why he’s been so successful is not because of his training, but because he NEVER hesitates.
But since its set in the Nolan Verse which was made to have some realism to it. How can there be literally 0 trace of his identity? Especially with how he manages to evade and trick law enforcement, his miticulous planning and weapons handling? No regular guy could do all of that. He has to be ex military.
No military has such an inclination towards drama and effect like the Joker. That endangers the mission. It is his big weakness, the reason why he symphatizes with Batman and later Twoface on a "professional" level and regards them as on par with himself. No, the Joker probably was a professional show magician, not unlike Bale in Prestigio. Btw no military has a trick knife worked into his boot like he has, or hides behind his own men like he did in the Wayne apartment scene. He is a bad shooter, and never actively punches or kicks someone the entire movie like a trained professional would. He fights like someone who lived on the street.

He then , like godfather, arranges to gate crash a meeting by the mob bosses. master plan, he calls it. he wants to become the Capo dei capi or capo di tutti i capi . he wants to have the drug cartels under his belt. he wants to own the gotham underworld and bring about chaos, death , make every one suffer. so, at the meeting of mob bosses of the 5 families, barzini, tatalgia, cuneo, strachi and moe green in the kitchens of a restaurant , probably owned by that itialian mobster sal moroni . whosoever disagrees his fate is that of gambol, the black sophisticated gangster. again, money comes into play here. gambol puts a bounty on his head, 1 million for bringing him alive. that 1 million is loose change for joker, he would give 2 million just for couple of teens to take him to gambol. so, nobody can hurt him, he is their paymaster. after that it is just spur of the moment. if he wants to bomb, he bombs , he has got the money all right, he hit a bank in the first scene and killed all the share holders. he can buy anybody, including govt or police officers, who clandestinely allowed him to participate in the police drill to take out the captain. now, the military skills, planning and execution and shooting. he don't do this professionally, he crazy and his shooting reflects that, random shots here and there. basically, his goal in life is destruction. if he were ex CIA gone rouge, it would have displayed in his demeanor, take for example the shooting of the last bank robber who drove that bus, doesn't even look at him, just fires a few rounds, not even seeing where it is hit. if he was military, he would have shot him 1 bullet, right between the eyes, then go towards him, kick his gun away, then other things, like he bat mobil scenes where he fires that machine gun here and there , doesn't even keep the gun pointing forwards. he does have appear to be taken some steroids or chemical shit making him more resilient. and his insanity just gives him double the power, no thought or care about anything. thats just joker liked and wanted to do all the time.
I think this version of the joker was probably former black ops in the military. No traceable evidence of his existence, had interrogation knowledge, fighting skills, etc.
Everyone's talking about the Joker clapping, but I love when Gordon comes back home and how Barbara, while so mad he lied to her, was also happy that he was alive.
The casting for this movie was some of the best I’ve ever seen in a movie. Gary Oldman kills it as Jim Gordon, Heath Ledger’s Joker is the GOAT, and Michael Caine’s Alfred is amazing. Tbh, Christian Bale does a fantastic job as Bruce Wayne, both in looks and attitude, and while his Batman is unique, it’s ultimately not the Batman we all know and love
Joker probably was a military vet who’s unit was supposed to be sacrificed in a mission and the gov deleted all his info Would explain why he knows so much about handling different weapons, planning robberies and attacks, interrogation techniques etc

Joker sitting down while being civil as a contrast to all the other prisoners being violent with each other really foreshadowed how menacing he is.
This scene was the idea of Ledger on the moment.

I’m surprised Leto dared to try, and I think his worst fears were realized as soon as the movie got released.
Phoenix did a great job as Arthur Fleck, but it felt like a different Joker, even after he embraced the madness. A much better Joker than Leto’s, but he’s just not the same as Ledger’s Joker.

I’m genuinely asking because I’m interested to know whether the shot we see was improvised or if it was other shots of him clapping, which we know do exist from the trailer and prove that they reshot the scene after he improvised it, regardless of which of the shots was improvised

The theory that this version of the Joker is a war veteran falls apart here. I like to think that he was just a regular man and one day he just snapped and became the Joker. The reason why he’s been so successful is not because of his training, but because he NEVER hesitates.
But since its set in the Nolan Verse which was made to have some realism to it. How can there be literally 0 trace of his identity? Especially with how he manages to evade and trick law enforcement, his miticulous planning and weapons handling? No regular guy could do all of that. He has to be ex military.
No military has such an inclination towards drama and effect like the Joker. That endangers the mission. It is his big weakness, the reason why he symphatizes with Batman and later Twoface on a "professional" level and regards them as on par with himself.
No, the Joker probably was a professional show magician, not unlike Bale in Prestigio.
Btw no military has a trick knife worked into his boot like he has, or hides behind his own men like he did in the Wayne apartment scene. He is a bad shooter, and never actively punches or kicks someone the entire movie like a trained professional would.

master plan, he calls it. he wants to become the Capo dei capi or capo di tutti i capi . he wants to have the drug cartels under his belt. he wants to own the gotham underworld and bring about chaos, death , make every one suffer. so, at the meeting of mob bosses of the 5 families, barzini, tatalgia, cuneo, strachi and moe green in the kitchens of a restaurant , probably owned by that itialian mobster sal moroni . whosoever disagrees his fate is that of gambol, the black sophisticated gangster. again, money comes into play here. gambol puts a bounty on his head, 1 million for bringing him alive. that 1 million is loose change for joker, he would give 2 million just for couple of teens to take him to gambol. so, nobody can hurt him, he is their paymaster.
after that it is just spur of the moment. if he wants to bomb, he bombs , he has got the money all right, he hit a bank in the first scene and killed all the share holders. he can buy anybody, including govt or police officers, who clandestinely allowed him to participate in the police drill to take out the captain.
now, the military skills, planning and execution and shooting. he don't do this professionally, he crazy and his shooting reflects that, random shots here and there. basically, his goal in life is destruction. if he were ex CIA gone rouge, it would have displayed in his demeanor, take for example the shooting of the last bank robber who drove that bus, doesn't even look at him, just fires a few rounds, not even seeing where it is hit. if he was military, he would have shot him 1 bullet, right between the eyes, then go towards him, kick his gun away, then other things, like he bat mobil scenes where he fires that machine gun here and there , doesn't even keep the gun pointing forwards.
he does have appear to be taken some steroids or chemical shit making him more resilient. and his insanity just gives him double the power, no thought or care about anything. thats just joker liked and wanted to do all the time.

The casting for this movie was some of the best I’ve ever seen in a movie. Gary Oldman kills it as Jim Gordon, Heath Ledger’s Joker is the GOAT, and Michael Caine’s Alfred is amazing. Tbh, Christian Bale does a fantastic job as Bruce Wayne, both in looks and attitude, and while his Batman is unique, it’s ultimately not the Batman we all know and love
