Honestly, if Heath had been given a stand alone joker movie like phoenix.........I can't even imagine to what depths he would've taken the character to......true legend

Tbh I dont think it would've been as good. The reason why joker won best supporting role because hes a contrast to the entire movie and stands out. It wouldn't have been as good if Joker was the main actor in the movie, sorry but its true.

One of many things that made his Joker so great was a fact that we knew nothing about his backstory. If he got a movie explaining his origin it wouldn't be as good as the recent Joker movie. The same way Phoenix plays completely different Joker which wouldn't work as Batman foe in a way Ledger's Joker did. We weren't meant to understand Ledger as Joker, he was meant to be mysterious psycho.

Do you know what is absolutely crazy? And how you know Heath Ledger is one of the best actors who has lived? And this blew my mind. He died at the age of 28! He was literally still in his 20s. That baffled me. You just saw him advance and really burst out in impeccable performances with time. He was a special force on screen

This was the best format for presenting the acting awards. It was really a great idea and shows respect for both the old winners and the nominees. The speeches were also very well written.
I have no idea why they stopped this format after only using it for 2 years. Those were the most entertaining Oscar shows I've seen.

And rightly so, not many performances can be as mesmerising, or as visually disturbing, as Ledger's JOKER.
If I was any actor there worth my crust, I'd aspire to make a acting performance like that.
