Either way the two best centers in the world will be facing off. Barkov vs Mcdavid. Very excited for this one 🔥
@@oldhab7890 oh I was a child when I saw Gretzky play live. I was born in 91 in Miami , the Panthers started playing in 93. I must have been only 5 or 6 maybe when I saw Gretzky on the Rangers. But I love hockey and have dove deep into its history and best players and I truly believe if you put Mcdavid in Gretzky's era with the same privileges Gretzky had, Mcdavid would easily hit 300 points. He's putting up Gretzky numbers now where shot blocking is up over 100% and goalies are far more talented, skilled, bigger in size, and far more equipped than the 80s. If you watch Gretzky's highlights it looks like the goalies are drunk compared to modern day goalies.
Comparing players across eras is difficult. Several rule changes and a focus on cutting down clutching and grabbing along with new stick construction would have helped Gretzky. I believe if you look at the stats comparison with their contemporizes Gretzky comes out ahead of McDavid. I say this as a Habs fan who hated Gretzky with a passion. Still I was lucky enough to see him play as an Oiler against my team, he was amazing.
@@oldhab7890 but he was also a very protected player, that's what I mean by the same "privileges." I do not doubt Gretzky's talent but he is like the Jordan of the NBA. The NHL needed Gretzky to push hockey to another level. He was able to play almost every season 75 games + as the best player in the league and at that time , the physicality was a little more brutal than now. He also had so many enforcers that protected him and that isn't really done as much in this era. Opponents also knew if they harmed Gretzky they would be penalized heavily. So if you put Mcdavid as he is now in that era as "Gretzky" I truly believe he would've been equal or better than Gretzky. I understand what you're saying about the technology upgrades that help players now with sticks that flex and skates are much more comfortable but I don't think that would impact Mcdavid. This is all sheer speculation of course, assuming Mcdavid had all the same opportunities as Gretzky , the same teammates, and the same competition.
Trust me the Cats are very comfortable playing in one goal games and you can, very much, annihilate a team by keeping it close. Believe me, I watched the Cats do it all season long. It's not that it was ever close, tthe Cats are just very comfortable, even or down a goal, in their games. The games were NEVER close, despite the score. Just ask Kucherov, Pasta, and Panarin. "F" around and find out...
I wouldn't be surprised to see the Oilers lose game 1 in convincing fashion, then push back hard. They've been adapting very well to challenges, and have had strong responses to defeats and obvious problems. I do think they beat the Panthers, but it will go to 6 or 7 games and be hard fought.
This is such a fascinating final. I feel like this is the BEST shot for both teams and only one can win. Panthers had to go through arguably 3 of the most elite goaltenders in the league to get here and never lost their composure. Edmonton has been good but a little inconsistent from game to game so I gotta go panthers for this one.
Edmonton played against stellar goalies in 2 series, shout out silovs, and otter who has been one of the best in the league. They broke the goalies by the end of the series. Their penalty kill is near perfect (they’ve given up only 3 penalty kill goals) and have a great power play but aren’t reliant on it (most 5 on 5 goals for).

I'd argue Dallas had the hardest road in the whole playoffs. First against a totally stacked champion Vegas team, then on to the Colorado freakin Avalanche. When the playoffs began I had Dallas and Florida in the final with Dallas taking the cup. The fact that everyone and their dog had Dallas picked to beat out Edmonton, only to have this team come out on top should have Florida fans worried. Goalies are one thing, and usually they will make or break a team, but if Skinner can be just good enough, the rest of the team can take care of the rest. Bobrovsky is unbelievable, there's no doubt about it, but everyone thought Otter was unbelievable until he came up against the Oilers. Either way this series should be intense.

I think this will either be the wildest series or a very boring series but I think it's going to 7 and no clue who is hoisting the cup. Fingers crossed for Edmonton though
I’m gonna say Oilers in 6. They’ve been underrated this whole post season, and Florida hasn’t played against this Oilers squad in a good while; and I don’t personally feel that the mental part of creating a disparity between how a team perceives their opponent, and what they actually bring to the table, has been discussed enough as an advantage to these Oilers this season. Especially with a pair of one of a kind talents in Leo and Davo, I really think they’re going in with a killer instinct, and won’t allow themselves to be denied. Edmonton used to lose due to a lack of depth, causing the top 2 to always put the team on their backs. That isnt really the case anymore, this team is deeper, tougher, and works as a unit, with an incredibly gifted coaching staff; with one of the most dangerous defenseman in NHL history behind the bench; who knows what it takes to win, and what it takes to win in Edmonton. The series won’t be short, but I think Edmonton’s got this.
Florida dominated my Rangers. Igor was the only reason the series didn’t end earlier. Hats off to them. I do think the Oilers win, in six, but Florida winning will be far from surprising.
Same here. Would like to see McDavid raise the cup and I've got no love for Florida, but they are simply built for this. Never shown any signs of cracking under pressure in these playoffs, and everything is going their way.
As an Oilers fan, I'm ok with the narrative that the other teams goalie is better, that we are top heavy and the other team is deeper........ The end result is supserstars + Special players on special teams has = Playoff success
@@anthonyfaccaro7118exactly! Florida is going to bring a whole new level of pain to the oil stain. I can't wait to see McOverrated run for the hills in a desperate attempt to not get dropped by a real man!
@@slider903 It's also not true of the Oilers. Skinner has been a top ten goalie in the league since Nov 11, only one team had more 10+ goal scorers on their roster than Edmonton did, and the Oilers have handily won each special teams match up these playoffs despite also being the best scoring 5v5 team. Will be a great series.
As you have said no losing end teams have been annihilated. Even the capitals who were swept played two games with a one goal difference (empty net goal notwithstanding). When the 1951 Habs lost to the Leafs in five, were they annihilated? All of the games were ovetime experiences!

As a Stars fan I do really want Edmonton to win. I was super impressed by them and they have improved so much. This will be such a good series.
Should be a good final. Florida should win on paper but I said the same about Dallas so don’t count the Oilers out before the series even starts. As a Canadian I’m slightly (lol) rooting for the Oilers but would also be cool for the Panthers to win their first cup. Hope it goes at least 6
By what measure should Florida win this on paper? And I'm genuinely asking, not attacking your opinion. Oilers forwards are massively better, the defense is about equal, and Florida has the goaltending, but Bobrovsky is no Vasi or Shesterkin. At best, I would say it's a 50-50.
@@Peksisarvinen it’s cool, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I won’t argue that Oilers have the best 2 players in this series maybe even 3 with Hyman. I just think the Panthers as a whole team are slightly better…not overwhelmingly but Oilers did prove me wrong in the Dallas series. Panthers are the most physical team the Oilers will face this playoffs. I think the Panthers will learn from last years final not to take stupid penalties but if they do they could be in trouble. I’m going with the Oilers in this one but slightly. Should be a good one
@@VGK2017 LA actually averaged more hits per game than Florida has these playoffs, and Vancouver was top four or five I believe. Edmonton has powered through a couple very physical teams so far (as has Florida)
@@Peksisarvinendefense is not equal, Florida is better at defense by far (2.9 vs 2.4 goals allowed in the regular season)
@@Peksisarvinen noloo tällei suomalaisena kun tommonen SM-liiga fani ei tiedä nykylätkästä mitään. Kaikki tilastot heittää Floridan paperilla kokonaisuudessa 10-0 ohi Edmontonin. This guy is not a hockey expert. In Finland we call these guys beerleague experts that doesnt know basics of hockey.
Miami born Panther's fan here. For me this is a win win situation. Either the Panthers win and my pops and I see something we never thought we would see together or Canada gets a Cup that they have deserved for a long time and Mcdavid stamps his legacy so I can then argue with Gretzky fans to let them know Mcdavid is more talented and skilled than Gretzky . Either way the two best centers in the world will be facing off. Barkov vs Mcdavid. Very excited for this one 🔥
👍
I see it the same way except you couldn't have seen Gretzky play if you think McDavid is more talented and skilled than Gretzky.
Great stuff. Thanks!
Only way the oil stain wins is if Florida puts their d league squad out there...... even then could be a close one
@@winkletown8828please keep that energy because Edmonton is winning this Cup. Sorry pal
@@winkletown8828 Yeah, and I’m sure the stars were gonna win in 3 grandpa.
This is such a fascinating final. I feel like this is the BEST shot for both teams and only one can win. I think both teams could make it back, but one thing we learned is its hard to make the final, and harder to make it back. I have no horse in this race, going to sit back and enjoy the hockey. Lets have a great series.
LETS GO 🐈'SSSSSSS!!!!
HOLY SH*T!!!.... he even has a Stanley Cup!!!
But I noticed the rings are blank, maybe next year he'll fill them in with fake names...but knowing him, they'll probably be real names in 3 years.
Wouldn't surprise me if he drives around in a Ford disguised as a Zamboni.

The cup isn't bare, it has the word, "Skanes" etched into it 223,789 times.
In this series I have to say I’m good with either team winning because it’s either going to be a Canadian team or a team that has never won before. That being said I’m taking the Panthers in 7
It’s gonna be a great final, way better than last year
I’m taking oil in 7 because I’m biased and want a fun series
This guy has the greatest man cave in the history of hockey. Super jealous. Go oilers go! 27 years and counting fan from SURREY BC

Dallas is the best team that didn't win the cup.
@@winkletown8828not even close. More like the most overrated team in 2024.
@@winkletown8828You can tell Dallas wasn’t going all the way after the pounding they took from Vegas. I was surprised they got by COL but eventually they ran out of gas
The ju ju is saying great series.
I hope there'll be a fight. A Stanley Cup Finals fight don't happen very often. 🥊🥊
Fla wont. Deharnais kane and nurse dont get challenged often
@@justinkoerner9595Florida has a deep roster, have proven that they aren't scared. I hope someone grabs McOverrated and wears his punk @$$ out! Let's get it on.
When was there a fight at all in these playoffs? I'm drawing a blank and can't recall anyone scrapping this year 😭
@@justjohnny420 There have only been four fights in the playoffs this year so far. Pastrnak vs Tkachuk was the most recent, the other three were in the first round. Evander Kane had a Gordie Howe Hat Trick in a game against the Kings; a guy from Colorado fought a guy from Winnipeg, and Carolina's Stefan Noesen fought McLean from the Islanders in the best fight of the playoffs so far.
@@justinkoerner9595and learning from last year
oh you just have one of those hanging around. ok. yeah. wouldn't be the hockey guy without it I guess
Funny how everyone talked about Oettinger being the best playoff goalie until the Oilers played him. Same with the Stars in general being the favorites until the Oilers beat them.
@@CC-of5xlI've heard everyone clowning on the Western teams because of how dominant Florida and NYR were in the first two rounds. No idea where you saw the opposite
@@chrismdb5686the western teams generally get less respect, which is kind of unfortunate. After all, since the Blues won, they only Eastern team to win the Cup was Tampa (twice). In the past 10 years it’s been split 5-5. The west should not be underrated.
Either way this series should be intense.
love your channel bro
in the end I don't really mind seeing McDavid OR Bobrovsky lifting the cup. I just want a 7 game hard fought OT filled SCF😁 that being said, go Oilers!
Massive Oiler fan here...I no doubt want Edmonton to win....BUT BOB??? ...HOLY SH*T... that guy is good!!!!
Yah... it would hurt if Oilers lose, but can't blame them for not trying....Bob's that good!
Either way i'm pissed off i'm gonna be working during Games 1 and 2.
I'm taking Oilers in 6. Its their time to shine and that PP is lethal.
My favorite teams in the west and the east respectively and has been for like 15+ years, this was my dream matchup! I'm an Oilers fan first tho so i know who i will be cheering for.
I predicted this match-up for both 2022 and 2023, but didn’t make a prediction this season. 🤦♂️
Either Florida get their redemption from last year or the McDavid and Draisaitl come out on top after years of getting knocked out earlier than expected
Either way is a good result for true hockey fans
2 guys can't beat an entire team. Especially when one of them is McOverrated and has thus far failed to lead his team. Score some goals McOverrated, show the world proof that you're the real deal. 😎
@winkletown8828 You're right 2 guys can't beat an entire team. But the Oilers have more than 2 guys and can actually play team defense most nights. Also weird to shit talk the playoff leading point scorer 😂

My gut says Panthers but I thought Dallas would win too. I find Dallas and Panthers play a very similar tight checking game. Hoping I’m wrong and Mcdavid lifts Lord Stanley! The guy is just so much better than any guy in the ice. A real pleasure to watch.
6 hour plane flights... at least??
Seven and a half when I checked. At least they don't have to fly commercial!

I think this will either be the wildest series or a very boring series but I think it's going to 7 and no clue who is hoisting the cup. Fingers crossed for Edmonton though
Fingers crossed for Florida
Great video thanx 4 the info
Heart wants Edmonton. Head says Florida. Hockey fan in me wants a close series that goes to 6 or 7 games.
Same here. Would like to see McDavid raise the cup and I've got no love for Florida, but they are simply built for this. Never shown any signs of cracking under pressure in these playoffs, and everything is going their way.
I'll be rooting for Edmonton, but I'd be okay with either team hoisting the Cup. Good luck to all!
let's go Oilers
I’d love for McDavid to win a cup. But I have a soft spot for expansion teams winning their first cup. So hard to choose!
As an Oilers fan, I'm ok with the narrative that the other teams goalie is better, that we are top heavy and the other team is deeper........ The end result is supserstars + Special players on special teams has = Playoff success
That has never been true for as long as I have watched hockey.
@@slider903 do people honestly believe the crap they make up?
Oil about to play a team that actually hits you. Hard to score on PP if half the team is playing hurt. East just plays hockey differently.
As a Kings fan, I'm just happy we get two really excellent teams in the final.
Going to be a dogfight! May the best team win :)
Advice for Edmonton: Shoot high on Bob. His glove side is weak. Rangers had success early but faded after Game 3. Good luck.
As you have said no losing end teams have been annihilated. Even the capitals who were swept played two games with a one goal difference (empty net goal notwithstanding). When the 1951 Habs lost to the Leafs in five, were they annihilated? All of the games were ovetime experiences!

As an oilers fan it's obvious who I'm rooting for but my biggest concern is something similar happening in 06 a key oiler getting injured and it totally changes the dynamic im hoping that doesn't happen but it should be entertaining im guessing oilers in 6
But wouldn’t a Campbell redemption be cool?
