- Alec Baldwin is fuming after he says he was tricked into buying tickets to cruise around the Statue of Liberty, only to be directed to a bus to New Jersey. Baldwin says the incident happened when he took his wife, Hilaria, and their kids for a trip to see the landmark. But he wasn't aware that there's only one company in downtown Manhattan authorized to sell tickets to Liberty Island. Instead, Baldwin says, he purchased his tickets from another seller hanging around the area. #InsideEdition

Greg You only get the ticket after you pay, which means you do not see what is written on it until after you pay. They don’t tell you beforehand that it’s in New Jersey and not New York. It is a scam.

Why would you buy a ticket that says " See NY from the water" that could literally mean anything. It would be different if the ticket said "see the Statue of Liberty from the water"

This happened to my 3 years ago. I went into one of those HopOnHopOff shops and they had 'tickets to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island' advertised. I was aware of scammers but I assumed it must have been legitimate as it was in an actual HopOnHopOff shop, which is a worldwide, well known company, and the woman who sold me the ticket was in the official uniform. When I went to get on the ferry later that day I was told that I had a fake ticket. I went back to the shop and spoke to the manager and he said ''oh yeah. people come in here all the time wearing our uniform and pretend =to work here and sell fake tickets''. When I demanded a refund he refused saying that it wasn't their fault that the fake people go into the building and he said he had no control over it. So it must have been the HopOnHopOff company that scammed me because they wouldn't allow fake tickets to be sold by other people as they would lose money if they sold real tickets. I was in NYC from England on a very tight budget and Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty was my main reason on going there so it almost ruined my trip.

The statue is literally a few thousand feet off the park. Its miles from Manhattan. Despite what New Yorkers tell you the statue is on the Jersey side. I guess Baldwin just hates Jersey like every New Yorker.
