As much as I wanna say I was gaslighted but at the end of the day, it's on me not updating with the news and lacking in critical thinking. I'm lucky enough to be able to enter college and all but failed to those scammer, I was so mad. Although I had the instinct of recording any call that seems 'unusual', I didn't realize I was led by the fake cop and voluntarily transferred him a sum to "check if my money really comes from laundering". I came from a culture where our family lives under the same roof and while the scam was going on, mom was asking me why I'm borrowing her money, I declined to let her know as I was a 'suspect' since the fake cop told me it's a confidential case of degree 3 and what not, so that I can't disclose the detail to anyone for the next 72 hours bla bla bla. I don't even know what that is but believe it anyway in the mindset of 'helping the law enforcement doing the justice'. Now thinking back, I don't even dare to listen to that call's recording because it sounds so stupid; but what I'm afraid of the most is that I will fall for those scammers again 😭 as I have always been so careless and having low situational awareness.
I think you should post it on YT, to help warn and protect other people. You won’t be scammed again. Be confident. It’s okay. Any time someone claims to be calling someone from any company or organization, get as much info as you can and then hang up and call that agency directly from their official sites or a legitimate directory. Never give our personal information. If they are who they say they are, they’ll already have the information that they’re asking for. I work in Fraud and I’ve had customers fall for fake Amazon reps, tech reps, etc., fake USPS or UPS text messages saying packages didn’t send, fake surveys and trials, etc.

I will remember that. I had to laugh when she gave the scammer the address of the police department. But I usually don't pick up. I wait to see if they leave a voicemail. The only people that do are my insurance company and friends. And my phone tells me scam likely and that helps a lot

Law enforcement would not call to ask what accounts are valid or fraudulent. They would block all accounts, then show up at your home and arrest you with warrant in hand. Absurd.
Nor would every law enforcement professional involved have a heavy Indian accent. Large companies may hire overseas companies for financial institutions' call centers, however, SSA and the IRS do not.
Still, these kinds of techniques work on enough people for it to be profitable for scammers.
