After a bunch of people asked about glow, I decided to put together this tutorial and how I paint/add glow to my artwork using Procreate on my Ipad mini OR Clip Studio Paint on my computer! The same principals can also be applied to apps like photoshop!

your tutorials are just so heavily underrated...for MONTHS ive been looking for nice very detailed, step by step procreate/digital art tutorials and found barely anything...and your tutorials just checked off everything ive been looking for haha :D so thanks for uploading these ♥
This is my favorite piece from you, and I couldnt resist the dtiys challenge ^^ It's interesting seeing how you do it!
I just looove adding glow to my art! I tend to just add my glow via a soft, low opacity airbrush, but I like the idea of using a gaussian blur instead! I'll try this method out for your DTIYS
Thank you, this was really helpful. I'm new to clip studio paint so trying to create a glow effect was difficult. I was basically wildly flailing and hoping something kinda sorta worked. This has made things so much easier.
I'm obsessed with this tutorial.😍🥰 Thank you
Simple and effective! Was looking for something to use in animation and this works! 😋
HOW DOES YOUR LINE ART COME OUT SO CLEEAAAN 😩
practice bro
Sketch with a regular pencil and then when you go in for the actual line art..
-click on the paint brush or pen you want to use
- click again to open up its settings
- In the Stroke path tab, select " STREAMLINE" and bring the slider up to Max.
- Test it out, this will help your lines to be straight and not so pixelated and crooked.
- adjust down to your liking.
If it's more of an actual drawing issue and the way it looks at the end.. I recommend playing with the line thickness and really use a proper sketch that guides you with your line art phase.
Another tip I find to be helpful is using the airbrush to soften some lines that seem to hold or harsh..
Finally, you can change the color of the line from black to better match the color of the skin, hair, armor , clothes etc.
You can do this buy
-creating a new layer above line art
- create a clipping mask
-color over the line to whatever color you want and adjusting it with the " Adjustments tab" under hue/ saturation/ brightness
I hope some of this helped

1. Use stability for the brush in the beginning, but dont rely on it too much, your hand needs to practice.
2. Use charcoal brush for the effect.
3. Do something that i call ''eating the line''
Basically in order for the line to be natural looking, you need unevenness. Eating the line is basically drawing a smooth line and then thinning it bit by bit on the edges with an eraser. I'd avoid stability settings in the long run tbh, give it time and practice. There is no magic brush or setting that will improve your art.
@@pecoliky8793 wow thank you. Do you have tips for brush packs to use for skin and hair? It seems a lot of digital artists have this standard brush they use where it's like a cross between a hard brush but it seems a biter softer. I just have issues with the part where every time I paint on the same layer, it has clear lines that look ugly and build up.. can never get a smoother look without using and airbrush or smudge tool
@@thewoolycontacts what i use for everything is a triangular brush that is oddly shaped
Helps with tight corners and keeps it looking natural.
For hair i mostly use smudge tools and pull shaded hair into the light one, blending it in a way, cresting the effect of real hair
I really needed this tutorial.

Thank you 🙏🏿!!!
In the past I always used light brush and messed around with the Overlay and Color Dodge layers. But your method should help my work look more subtle and calm yet still alluring. Thanks a ton Xd
Thank you!
Today RUclips recommended your channel to me and I loved the fact that you explain without speeding up the videos (which is very irritating and definitely not enlightening in the lives of those who want to learn about digital design). This motivated me to want to know your channel on Patreon, I'm thinking about subscribing! :-) Congratulations on the beautiful drawings!

Nice tutorial ;) Which app did You use to record the screen on the right side?
I'm trying to cut and paste of said glowing effect but I keep messing up on making it clean on the layer of the body I'm making behind the glowing effect
wow this is interesting! But i have a question:
On Medibang for Android I use "Luminosity" and "Hard light" for making glow because it's what ringed to me by name, but what is the actual difference between those and "Add" and "Color dodge"?
Hello! what is your ipad mini version?
Reminder 3:50 🎉
😊👍🏻
Great video! Would it be possible for you to do a video on how to make colours shiny in clip Studio paint? Like for example if I was doing gems, how would I make the colour look shiny
i think you add airbrush on the edges of the lighter sides of the gem (closest to the light source) and whenever the gem is brighter, the hue goes closer to yellow, whenever the gem is towards the dark half, it’s probably more blue or purple/red
at least that’s how i’d do it, idk if this helps gjsjf
YOU LOOK SO PRETTY.
THE UNDERRATED VIDEOS ARE ALWAYS THE BEST
Hello 👋🏾, I really liked the tutorial, but sometimes when I click the add glow or glow dodge it just doesn't show anymore or it like turns invisible and idk why. Please how do I fix this 😭🙏🏾
Great tutorial! 🥰 To be honest, I didn't understand it. My english is not so good and it was a bit too fast for me. I didn't understand how to do it when you start from scratch. I draw with Clip studio paint. Are there any other explanations or can you help me? 🙈🥺
I’m on an iPhone 12… in the layers, I can’t find the “add” option
I use clip studio paint and honestly all the different layer types scare the shit out of me.
ur voice 🥰
My dogs name is MOCHI! How a coincidence!
Bloom?
Wow I was shocked at first. Her face looks just like a painting 😅
the glow dodge is only in the EX version?
No, I'm pretty sure its in the Pro version as well
I love you art work ❤️✨ if we talk the same language i Will ask you for a collab here on youtube❤️✨
Saludos desde México 🙊
Whenever I switched it to glow dodge the picture just disappeared do you know how to fix it?
Make sure you are switching the New layer to glow dodge and not the layer that has your original artwork.
@@ChrissaBug oh ok thank you! I’ll try that
Your face strangely looks like it was drawn in Anime style😳
I came looking for a tutorial not falling in love
I did everything but it didn't work
Your voice sounds like Tails the Fox.
i'm lost
How
This didn’t work for me :/ it just changed the color of my flower
you are so fucking pretty..
is it just me or do she kinda sounds like Rapunzel lol
Im sorry but i made the last like for 1000 ik ik im cool.
She didn’t do anything at all
pro tip: if you turn off the bra layer u become even more famous
